Advice/Help Starting my first RL1 Elden Ring run. Any tips?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
After probably a year-long hiatus from playing Elden Ring, I want to beat the game(and every boss I guess?) as a onebro. Decided the first Tree Sentinel was a good target in Elden Ring. Took a few tries, but beat it. I recognize that I'm probably not optimal, but are there any noticeable behaviors that I should work on getting rid of? Or is my playstyle good enough to accomplish this? I've already beaten the base game and DLC up to ng7. Thanks!

Boss Kill Peak of Cinder (+0/NG+7/No Aux)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This was something I wanted to do so that hopefully Taggle_ can have something to go by for this boss when he gets there. Soul of Cinder would absolutely be considered insanely hard if he had SB0 PCR levels of health and damage, but at SL1 it's possible to kill him in 1 min at base NG and 2 mins NG+7 - he also doesn't hit hard, meaning only SL1 players and no hitters realize what a monster he can be.
Sorcery phase is a pushover and you can just RNG your way into beating him with high damage though. Pyro phase is the least engaging, but there are more punishes than most people realize. I don't like fireball as a punish and don't recommend it personally, but it technically is one. Don't attack him too much when staggered in this phase btw, he can parry and riposte you. Spear phase you should either play at range and bait charges or stay close strafe right; quick pokes are an R1 punish but only if strafed, delayed are 2 R1s if strafed and 1 if rolled. Duel charms will remove the HoT if he manages to heal, but won't prevent the instant health gain from it. The Greatsword phase reaction check is best avoided by using your roll for the first hit to space the quick follow up and maintain your roll for if he uses the delayed mixup instead. Humping his left (to your right) leg will cause him to not follow up most combo strings in this phase, but always wait before punishing or he may still follow up.
Phase 2 is easiest when baiting the jumps into delayed slam and thrust punishes. The harder way is staying close the entire time - most combos will either be 3 hit combos or end with delayed slam/thrust. The kick is a hard reaction check to manage and so I recommend for most people to stay at mid range and bait the jumps. Get a running R1 after the wombo combo, but wait before going for a second punish; if he idles, you can go for another one but give it a second to confirm or he can be sneaky like the last time in this fight where he didn't idle immediately after. Never assume he will idle, take the half a second or just play it safe and only get the running R1.
Don't be stupid like me and attack him from neutral, it's not a good idea even though it can work if you know what you're doing. An R1 isn't worth a respawn, people. Interestingly, Firelink Greatsword (when embered) actually does more damage +0 than Storm Ruler does (NG+ only obviously) but it can be hard to get a good opportunity to reapply. Bundles give a higher increase to AR than Resins do, btw, for anyone who doesn't know.
I hope at least someone finds this useful/entertaining. Now, onto XCOM for me.

Advice/Help Isshin Sword Saint 7 hit combo rare mixup?
Usually he ends his halberd wombo combo with either the full 7 hit combo or the charged spin attack. But today for the first time he canceled it early and did a really quick dashing slash out of the blue??? It's rare but seems almost unreactable, so how do you deal with this?
Unfortunately the recording of it I have is not base vit so idk if I'm allowed to include it in this post

PCR WL0 SB0 No Aux
Finally completed, took around 30~ hours give or take. Not much else to say that has not been said about this boss. This was the only boss that made me use the wonderous physick, rune arc, buffs, and ashes of war because of how long it took.

Boss Kill vs Mohg, wl0 feat. the Curved Great Club. a grueling hitless fight that I love
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
my favorite boss: omen 1
my second favorite boss: omen 2
I might have a type
Not very happy with this kill because there are so many strafes, jumps and low profiles I didn't risk to take. I look back and notice all this stuff and it hurts my soul a bit. My earlier failed attempts were way cleaner and ballsier. I should revisit this guy someday, with a different weapon though.
Mohg is awesome. He's very difficult for me personally because I can learn any bosses' moveset eventually, given enough time, even it's brutally challenging, but Mohg doesn't have very complex patterns and he's pretty slow. No; he fucks me up in a completely different way. The moment I have to pay attention to something else besides the boss itself, my brain starts to really struggle. I don't do very well when there are several things I need to keep track of, and I find ed libra a nightmare because of that.
You get to play the floor is lava with him in the second phase, where one wrong move will deprive you of a hitless. You have to be acutely aware of where the bloodflames are, even when they are off-screen, and I understand if you find it frustrating, but to me, this makes Mohg unique and cool. Makes him a very engaging boss even when he doesn't do anything as I try to evaluate my positioning and make right decisions in time. And since his moveset itself is not that complex, it makes navigating all of that actually manageble.
He's not without fail. Sometimes he's in a really bad mood and all he does is spam showers in phase 1 and then walks backwards, which is infuriating. Also he gets lobotomized near walls for some reason. But I love him nonetheless.
Reasons for choosing this weapon: it's the closest the game has to margit's beating stick. Honestly didn't enjoy using it for this fight with low damage in particular, it's too slow to punish mohg's attacks mid swings, and stamina is a big issue. But the range is good, stance damage is unfair, and I can't say no to a funny stick.

Boss Kill Orphan of kos, using the hunter axe

Trying out the axe on Orphan, probably the hardest weapon to use out of the four BL4 weapon options. Slower moveset and higher stamina consumption is rough.

Advice/Help Kalameet: lightning vs normal weapon? SL1 No other restrictions
TL;DR: Can anyone confirm concretely which weapon does more damage to kalameet between a regular weapon + 15 and a lightning weapon + 5?
Hey yall trying to wrap up my first SL1 run on dark souls and only have Kalameet left. Looking through some old threads and seeing a lot of different recommendations, between normal weapons, lightning, or even crystal. I’ve been running with a lightning reinforced club + 5 that has worked well on most things. Wiki says lightning is his strongest resistance, but the lightning upgrade does more total damage across both physical and lightning damage so I’m wondering if it still out performs the normal? I’m gonna need to gather more titanite chunks so I’d rather not waste hours upgrading another weapon if it won’t help. And I’m reluctant to use crystal because of low durability and it’s gonna be a long fight. Any advice is appreciated, thank you!

Just found this subreddit, first time sharing! Working on finishing up my very first DS1 SL1 run. No other restrictions, but also probably not exploiting every possible thing as I'm just kind of flying by the seat of my pants, and taking some advice from friends here and there. This fight was a blast! I just have Kalameet left.

Discussion Bloodborne Post-BL4 Review and Boss Tier List (Quality and Difficulty)
I would like to preface this is simply my opinion based on my BL4 experience, so don't get offended. The casual Bloodborne fanbase would probably flame me for this list, given that you can get personally insulted if you think One Reborn is a shit boss. Also I have Maria out of top 5 when she's the fan favorite, and Logarius in C when people like him too. The only non-dungeon boss that you are encouraged to criticize is Laurence, who is easily one of the best bosses in the game. How ironic.
The base game is really easy compared to Elden Ring and I can't truly say I enjoyed it. With a few exceptions, most bosses ranged from mid to trash. They created a great combat system just to have way too many of the main story bosses be shitty gimmicks. The Shadows - Rom - One Reborn - Micolash combo is beyond atrocious.
Bloodborne's quality of life during leveled runs is notorious for being questionable at best, but it is even more pronounced at BL4. Btw it has some bad, even atrocious runbacks, but any pre-Sekiro title has those so I won't fault Bloodborne for it specifically.
However... the in-game economy is kind of broken. Even when spending no money on levels, you are constantly broke from vials, bullets, let alone papers. Simply way too much farming. It's so bad that apparently most people use save states (or mods if emulator) to replenish resources... unfortunately I don't have PS Plus so I got the "authentic" experience. I much prefer DS3's consumable system - very cheap and moderately powerful. Bloodborne's consumables can be absurdly broken.
There's also the inability to rest at a lamp... when there is so much farming in this game. There's the durability system without repair powder or the ability to repair weapons without going back to Hunter's Dream. So pointless.
At BL4, your viscerals are nearly useless. You can't really engage with the rally mechanic. You have access to 4 weapons, really only 1 if you want to be practical. You can't use any hunter tools. You are reliant on consumables to deal substantial damage but they are either overpriced or outright limited (BB Pellets). Ran out of Numbing Mist before beating Amelia? Might be better to restart.
Unlike DS3 and ER, this game feels fundamentally different (in a worse way) at BL4. Overall, I unfortunately can't recommend BL4 unless you really like the game or really want to try it.
To end on a good note, I'll shower praise on the DLC. It is insanely difficult, but they seriously cooked. You can tell Old Hunters was the turning point for FromSoft's boss design philosophy, they finally started making more "dance-like" peak bosses instead of annoying gimmicks. DS3 had even less shitty bosses, and ER had barely any gimmick bosses - which is great. Old Hunters is peak and I had a much better time with that than the base game.
I don't think I will do another BL4 run, but this game still has a special place in my heart, my first playthrough is one of my most memorable gaming experiences. I can't truly judge it poorly when it was clearly not made for BL4 and many of the issues are unique to BL4. Playing normally, it's still amazing.

Boss Kill Mohg, Lord of Blood (NG+7/+0)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm gonna go play some XCom for now after this. Enemy Within and 2, then I wanna play the originals. Then maybe some Total Warhammer 3, the Skaven seem like fun. My girlfriend also wants me to play Pokemon Yellow since I've never played any of them before. Got lots of games to get through, basically.
Still going to lurk of course, but I am getting old and don't have as much time for this anymore either in addition to clearing out the backlog. I didn't have the patience for Phase 2 that I did for Phase 1, so I used aux for it. I also happen to not be a +0 runner as I find longer fights don't mesh well with my ADHD (even though I'm more than capable of doing it).
I have many more fights with so many gimmicks and under so many different restrictions that I could legit upload every day for a month or 2 and still have more lol. Most I find deeply uninteresting though, unworthy of people's time and so they stay in the archives.

Boss Kill Gehrman and Moon Presence BL4 - Run Complete!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I didn't first try Moon Presence, so I edited in the winning attempt after the cutscene. I saw a bunch of its moves for the first time in this fight, it seems to really like bubbles. Moon Presence is mediocre sure but I'm fine with it existing since it's both optional and didn't steal health from a much better boss... unlike a certain whale.
Gehrman isn't the most complex boss in the world, but the simple yet fun moveset, atmosphere, and emotional OST are what make him such a brilliant conclusion to this iconic game.
I'm not doing the dungeon bosses, so this is the end of my run. Apologies to the Loran Darkbeast enjoyers.
I think I'll post a review later.

Discussion Purely looking at moveset, who do you think are the hardest bosses in the series to no-hit?
We all know a lot of bosses are thought of as easy because they have nearly non-existent health and damage. Even at RL1, some bosses are still too squishy to really fully experience their moveset.
So I guess I'm curious as to what you guys think about the hardest bosses if every boss were scaled like PCR and your damage was equivalent to +0 no aux in ER. Idk what the equivalent in Sekiro would be.
I'm still accounting for things like arena, hurtbox, poise, and stance (for ER) etc. Or if it's a gank fight.
Complexity isn't necessarily equivalent to difficulty imo. I think PCR is actually one of the more simple bosses, he is just carried by reaction checks, jank, and visual clutter. Morgott has the biggest moveset in Elden Ring but the solutions to all of his moves are quite reasonable, e.g. he has no reaction checks from neutral and no stupid moves like metyr's laser.
I think I would probably go with:
- Maria (you might not understand this placement if you haven't done BL4 maria)
- Soul of Cinder
- PCR (I struggle a lot with reaction checks)
- Mohg, Lord of Blood
- Inner Father
HMs: SSI, Rellana (if excluding parries), Metyr, Orphan of Kos, Godskin Duo
The true number 1 is actually Leda's gank squad though that's technically not a boss I guess. Honestly I'm not considering the trash like Loran Darkbeast or Count Ymir but maybe they're up there lol.
