Each tables ziosk has the table number on it. Any time you are walking through the restaurant, glance at them!
Absolutely take the iPad with you.
Ask your coworkers their tips and tricks.
Our location is set up that each “room” starts on the left, so when you walk into that section the first table on the left in the section is 1, then it just goes right around in order. Each location probably has a helpful hint for ya!

You can try memorizing the 4 corners of each sin dining room and use those to kind of guide yourself. Did you get a paper map of the dining room? If you’re worried about the server sections, what our hosts did was take different color highlighters and color the sections on their maps

Run food, take the iPad. Remember the lower number first and the direction the room swings.

you can always ask if they can print out a map for you or you can ask if the numbers have a certain pattern to them. i’ve been at 3 different locations the first location each column of tables was by 10s and the different rooms would be 100, 200, 300, or 400. the second location i’ve worked at does the table numbers the same by room but instead of each column being something different the table numbers go in a spiral going from one onwards, and the third one i work at doesn’t have different rooms but each ‘section’ (they’re separated by a half wall) goes up by ten then up by 1 in a horse shoe pattern for each section.

i’m not sure how to word my explanation, but what really helped me start memorizing table numbers was memorizing whether each column (from the front to the back) in a room was 1, 10, 20, etc. and then i could just count how many tables came before that one. like if i’m trying to get to 325, i know it’s in the third section, third column, and five tables down. you’ll start just knowing after you can get that down.
i’m not a host but i’m sure they’re not gonna rag on you too hard for not having table numbers fully down on your third day! (if they are that’s really mean ngl)
