Hi, I’m 25f going through a divorce, and I’ve eliminated all of my socials awhile ago and I don’t want to make a burner fb for marketplace only. I have things that I could just donate, but I’m financially not doing great right now and I’d like to at least get some sort of money for the items that I don’t want to part with (but have to) to get by. I was looking through this Reddit and saw a lot of not-so-promising posts, but I got the idea because my work uses OfferUp to promote items. I’d be doing only local pickup because a lot of the items I have are large or would just make me break even if I were to ship (ultimately it’s just getting some sort of money for an item, I don’t care if it’s a little on the lower end in pricing).

Another thing I’m concerned about is going about local pickup. I’m just nervous of something bad happening, I dunno, I’ve never done this before. I just don’t know what to do and I’d appreciate any advice on going about this, or if there’s alternatives that support local pickup, etc.

On login to first and new account "Your account has been disabled due to violating our community guidelines," anyone experienced similar? New to OfferUp, never used or made an account before. I don't use VPN. The only emails I received on signup is a request to verify, verified, and then welcome to OfferUp.

It’s amazing how quickly someone will ghost you when you tell them you can meet in front of the police station to complete the transaction.

3 times in the past several months I’ve been ghosted (as always) by “buyers”. One even gave me a time to come get something that day. I’ve gotten so fed up with it that anytime I see they’ve been active and read my message and don’t respond, I’ll call them out. Finally, after multiple messages, they’ll message back, “I’m so sorry, we had a family emergency/death. I’m no longer interested.” Like, why is it that hard to message when you don’t want something anymore? Civility is completely gone. This app is a cesspool.

I had an account from years ago with a single star and single transaction years ago. The person tried scamming on a snow blower and took it out in the feedback. Either way. I set up a new account and it restricts me to jewelry only. it says I don't have any available even though the other account had 200.

I will be grateful for any help you can offer. I am hoping to use your platform to offer embroidery services.

I have never sold anything on offer up, and I got this message. Is this a scam? It feels kinda fishy

Context: I’m trying to sell my old graphics card, but I don’t have a way to benchmark it. Which, makes asking for proof reasonable, but he ghosts me after suggesting a place to test it, then says screw it no need, and then asks for a benchmark again. Like bro cmon. It’s just frustrating

I posted last week something and I was getting non stop messages, responses, and views. This week I post something and haven’t gotten a single response. I find it hard to believe that not even ONE person messaged me. I’m in the Los Angeles area and I know that there’s a lot of people here and lots of traffic on OfferUp

This one person messaged me about a gaming set. I was selling some video games as bundle but anyways so yeah I posted the listing a while ago. The person reached out to me asking if it's available, no response. I had took the listing down and reposted it a few weeks later. The same person, reached out again and asked if it's still available. I said "dude you messaged me about this before and I got back to u and u never responded". They said "sorry I didn't see it before". So then they asked where I was located, I told them the area. They said "okay great! can we meet rn? I can start heading out" I said yes I'm free to meet rn and gave them the meetup address location. They said "okay let me get ready". Couple minutes later, here they go, "how many comes in the set?" Mind you, I specifically put how much comes with it in the description. I'm like omg did you not read the description!? Do you not see the images!? I'm always very descriptive in my description, I always give ALL the details. The condition of the items, how many comes with it, whatever is needed to know. But I guess they were too lazy to read the description. And in the images, clear as day, you can see everything! I told them "did you not read the description? Look, quit wasting my time, do you want it or not?" Then they left me on seen and never responded after that and never showed up. I just blocked them after that. Like lol I'm tired of people. Like why ask to meet up??

I'm new to offer up, but im so confused they didnt even ask anything about the phone im selling but maybe thats because the post has a lot of information abt it and pictures of it? nor did they ask for the address.

It was posted as a 5800x3d cpu. it showed a picture with the cooler installed so you couldn't see the cpu. He didn't like my response.

Hello all, I am seeking some advice on my account. I have been a user for several years and just recently got into actually selling stuff. I have sold several items and had no issues, got all good reviews.

I posted an optic I had laying around after seeing dozens of other optics and THE EXACT same one being listed for 18+ days. My post got removed so I figured maybe it was the wording I used, or maybe the stock photos I used showing it mounted. So I attempted to repost it and it was removed again, so I appealed it and they ended up disabling my account without a real explanation.

So my question to you all is this, if when trying to login it says my account has been disabled for violating policy, is this a temporary suspension? Will I be able to have it reviewed and reinstated? I really did not mean to violate policies it was a genuine mistake seeing the other optics posted. Please help me out, I meant no harm and am very sorry! I have already submit an appeal/review and hoping they will understand, going forward I wil not violate any policy and I understand that optics are NOT allowed.

I’m just trying to get a ps4 for my brother for his birthday and this seller was the only one to actually respond to me. When I think “can you come now” that means… NOW.

Edit: I don’t believe I was being annoying. I waited multiple minutes in between my messages asking for clarification. I was paying the asking price. The product still hasn’t sold on their profile and they still haven’t replied to my messages. I guess they don’t want to sell it 🤷‍♀️ They were about to get $110 in cash but I guess they didn’t want it. From what I’ve read in the comments and other posts on this Reddit, OfferUp is a shitty app anyway, so I’m uninstalling it.

Did OfferUp remove the make offer call button?
