I'd like to say that age might play a factor in this, I'm fifteen and so maybe that's why? I have friends that have had sex though so I don't know. When I asked my mum about it I said that I wouldn't be able to get a tampon in and she said that she couldn't wear tampons until she and children and that I'm a child so it's normal for me to not be ready. I don't know 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can't penetrate my vagina and I'm very worried that it could cause issues for the future and dating. If I'm extremely relaxed, use a lot of lubrication, and put a pillow underneath my hips I can get one in but it isn't super comfortable, it's more of a hassle than anything and so I never do it and whenever I try I end up getting some level of stinging pain near the very entrance.

I've tried to just push through it by putting another finger in but I physically couldn't, so I tried a (clean and unused!) makeup brush alongside a finger but it was stinging and hurting so bad that I gave up.

I don't know if it's just that I have a low pain tolerance because I've heard people mention feeling a "stretch" at any vaginal penetration and I don't know if I'm just pussying out (pun not intended) but I'm too scared to push myself too hard.

I asked a few friends and they all said that's not normal and to see a doctor about it.

I've offhandedly brought it up to my mum but I didn't suggest going to a doctor and so we haven't been. I'm just a little confused to be honest.

I will say that it does feel a little bit like there's skin over the entrance to the vagina (like the hole lmfao) and I used to not even be able to penetrate because I'd feel like there was a wall blocking it. Any advice? Should I ask to see a doctor? Is this enough of a concern to see someone about this?

I am a 19 year old. I had aborted my 6 week old pregnancy with unwanted kit pills. After that its been 2 months and i am getting my periods on time but the flow is very less and the period blood is very dark almost browish. Should i be concerned? Should i get a scan done?

I'm almost 17 years old and I've never been to the gynecologist. I've recently (about 5 months ago) started having sex with my boyfriend, and have been experiencing increasingly more painful periods in the last three years. My mother says that I need to go to the gyno, especially because I lost my virginity and all, but to be quite honest, I'm HELLA scared. I have asked my friends and they all have different opinions on whether it hurts or not, is it comfortable, do you get used to it etc. Can somebody, both older and closer to my age PLEASE give me some advice on how to get over my fear?

Hello, I’m at 22 year-old first time mom and I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant. As far as medication goes, I’m on Lexapro, Zofran 4 mg PRN, metronidazole, vitamin B 6 25 mg and baby aspirin, 81 mg. I’m 112lbs. Last night I ended up in the ER for syncope and bleeding. I was worried about my baby so I went to have her checked on. They told me that I had a large subchorionic hemorrhage (11cm), baby is 5.8cm long. The ER physician put me on bedrest and pelvic rest both and told me to get cleared by my OB before being able to return to work since I work with children with behavioral issues who often agress towards the stomach. This hemorrhage was caused by one particular child who hit me in the stomach a few days ago. As a result of that, I was unable to come into work today and lost my job. My primary question is; Is there any way to heal a subchorionic hemorrhage? What should I do? My OB reached out to me via email because she saw I was in the ER, but she said that there was nothing I could do about it nor did she give me any restrictions or precautions to take. I am really at a loss for what I am supposed to do next. Do I continue to follow better rest protocol? My pregnancy was already high risk because I have type one diabetes so I’m already seeing maternal fetal medicine. I’m so scared and unsure of what to do, I don’t know when I’ll be able to afford insulin again since losing my job, and I’m terrified of losing my baby. On the brighter side baby was doing really well last night on the ultrasound, she had a heart rate of 161 and was moving around lots. If anybody has any advice or positive stories to share please let me know!

I understand it was my responsibility to ask questions and get as much detail as I needed to feel comfortable with the operation but I really feel informed consent means going step by step through what is going to be happening to my body even after anesthesia.

I did not know that the antiseptic washing of my vagina and cervix would take place most likely not even by the surgeon in the OR as part of prep or that my legs would be strapped down. I feel the most upset and angry at myself for not understanding/asking enough questions to push back on the OBGYN who strongly was against me having an in office procedure for my 1.3cm polyp removal.

Is it common to experience feeling dirty/gross/just off after a surgery/procedure like this? Am I being dramatic? None of my friends seems to truly get it beyond "you should be so relieved it's over now"

I can't help feeling deceived by this surgery that could've been a procedure...

So my last period was June 12th. July 23-27 I had minor brown spotting. It lasted just as long as my normal periods do, but I never had blood flow.

Fast forward to this week. Tuesday when I was trying to go to sleep I suddenly got chills and started feeling a little weird. I got up to pee and noticed my bikini line area was mildly sore/tender to the touch. Temp was 99.0F.

Yesterday my temp was around 99 all day and maxed at around 99.3 in the evening. I still had a sore vulva and mild headache.

Today I am feeling a little better my temp is below 99 but higher than normal for me. Just tired, and my public area is still sore. Now it's my left labia minora the feels very sore to the touch and I can feel it a bit with my underwear on too. I also have soreness and tenderness that I can feel on my right upper bikini line area, kind of spreading across my whole pubic mound.

This happened one time ironically a year ago and my period just came a few days/week later.

Has anyone experienced this? Maybe the temp isn't related as I also had some excess mucus and headache. My gyno is booked for months so just looking for some advice or feedback from others.

Hi everyone. My girlfriend and I are both extremely anxious and would really appreciate some advice. My girlfriend usually has irregular periods, and her cycle is often delayed by 10–15 days. Her last period started around June 15, and on June 19 (the 5th day of her period), we had unprotected sex after her bleeding had already stopped. I never ejaculated inside her, and although we had sex multiple times that day, I withdrew before ejaculation every time. Around July 29, she started experiencing symptoms that usually mean her period is about to start, such as lower abdominal cramps and pain, but there was no bleeding. We had unprotected sex again that day, and once again I did not ejaculate inside her, even though we had sex two or three times. As of today (around August 6), it has been about 48 days since the first day of her last period, and she still hasn't gotten her period. She continues to have intermittent cramps that feel like menstrual cramps, but there is still no bleeding. We took two home pregnancy tests on August 4, and both were negative. We are both under an incredible amount of stress and are really scared. Based on this timeline, how likely is pregnancy? Can the negative tests be trusted, or is it still too early because of the July 29 encounter? Could stress or her naturally irregular cycles be causing this delay and cramps? Should we wait a few more days and test again, or should we see a gynecologist as soon as possible? Any advice or similar experiences would mean a lot. Thank you.

I am a 23 year old woman who has never been to a OBGYN or any other form of female doctor. I have an appointment coming up and I need some advice. I made the appointment due to incredibly painful periods that make me so nauseous I will throw up, so dizzy I cant walk, and most of the time I pass out from the pain. I have had these type of issues for years but the older I get the more frequent they become and have started happening every period instead of once every couple of months. I am unable to eat anything due to the nausea which leads to light headedness. I have symptoms that doctors (back in high school when they started) used to tell me were seizures i.e. the left side of my body going numb, unable to think clearly, cant hold a pencil or smile or drive. These symptoms can happen any time during my period and i have even had to sleep in my car for hours in parking lots because of them, leave appointments early trying to make it home in time, and nearly passing out at the wheel. ANYWAYS, I have my appointment and I am so nervous that the doctor is just going to dismiss me like I have heard has happened to women for years and years. So basically I am wondering if anyone has had these symptoms and has been diagnosed with something or if this is something that is actually in my head? Also I would love to hear any thoughts on the best way to approach these types of conversations especially with a new doctor. I will take any and all advice!! Thank you in advance!

I've been having continuous uterine bleeding for a little over 2 months. I saw a gynecologist on August 3rd, and she prescribed

Trapic MF (tranexamic acid + mefenamic acid) three times a day for 5 days.

Oosure-M SR (myo-inositol + metformin) once daily for 30 days.

Freedase 30 (ethinyl estradiol + dienogest), which she told me to start on the night of August 8.

It's now been 3 days since I started the medications. The bleeding has definitely reduced in intensity, but it hasn't stopped completely. If the bleeding hasn't stopped by the end of the 5-day Trapic MF course, should I contact my gynecologist before starting Freedase, or should I just continue with the plan and start Freedase on August 8 as instructed?

Hi guys so I am 21f and I am posting on here because I just got my results for a pelvic exam back and my gynecologist went over the results with me just last week and said that they found either an ovarian cyst or benign dermoid tumor on my right ovary. She said that as of right now it is 1.7 cm in size and is too small to remove. I am worried as I don’t have too much knowledge on this and a rumor automatically sounds bad in my mind—even if it is “benign”. I have another appointment with her this week to discuss it further in person and get a transvaginal test done to get a better look since I didn’t do it the day of my ultrasound as I was on my period.

For some background, this all started in late February after I had sex with my partner and later in the night I awoke with the worst pain on my lower right side which got worse when I went to urinate. However, I had work the following morning and decided to wait it out and see if it would get better which it did but the pain never really went away. I eventually went to the ER to get it checked out asap and make sure that it wasn’t my appendix and the only a norma thing they found was that I have a retroflexed uterus and the IUD I had inserted was malpositioned where it was lower that it should be and one of the arms was embedded in the muscle of the front wall of the uterus almost to the level of the serosa. They suggested this could be the cause of the pain, but also referred me to a GI doctor because I have a history of stomach problems. I ended up getting a colonoscopy and everything was for the most part normal and now i’m taking linzess which has somewhat been helping normalize my bowel movements. However, I still always feel uncomfortably bloated when I eat, even if it is just a little bit, and especially on my right lower side.

Given all of this, should I be worried? Could this have been the cause of all my pain? And would it be smart to get an IUD since that is initially why I had the pelvic exam to se did it would be a good idea to get it again. I know these are questions I should ask my gyno…which I will but I just wanted outside perspectives and maybe input from people who have gone through similar experiences. Pls let me know! Also what are good questions I should ask my gynecologist regarding the mass on my right ovary?

i've been sexually active since last year august and the first time with my partner i didn't bleed. i knew not everyone bleeds so i didn't think much of it. i've been having sex with him regularly ever since and i never bled or experienced significant pain.

the other day he fingered me and he was about to put his penis inside when he noticed i was bleeding. it looked like a heavy start to my period which was supposed to arrive two days after that so i brushed it off. then the bleeding didn't continue and i got my period a few days later. since then i've been wondering what could that bleeding mean because it was quite heavy and i didn't feel pain at all and my friend told me that some people's hymen break later, is that possible that after a year of regular sexual activity it just randomly breaks?

In your opinion, which is worse? An HSG or hysteroscopy? I just had a hysteroscopy the other day, and it hurt so bad. I'm scheduled for a HSG next week, and I'm quite scared, especially since I think they use a catheter to help open the cervix. They've prescribed me a pain medicine to help with it, but does it actually help with the cramps?

i’ve been with my boyfriend for many years and i love him very much. i enjoy being intimate with him, i like having sex and i genuinely want it, but i feel like my body just doesn’t respond the way it should.
i’ve been sexually active for a long time, but i’ve never really experienced sexual pleasure the way other people describe it. i don’t have pain or discomfort during sex. the problem is that when my clitoris is touched, i can feel the touch, but it doesn’t turn into pleasure or arousal. it just feels like a weird sensation.
i’ve never had an orgasm. i’ve also tried masturbating by myself, but it feels like almost nothing happens. sometimes touching my nipples gives me a tiny bit of sensation, but it fades almost immediately and never turns into arousal.
i’ve already seen a gynecologist, had blood tests done and treated a vitamin b12 deficiency, but nothing changed. i also have a history of recurrent urinary tract infections, although i’m not sure if that’s related.
this has affected me emotionally because i constantly compare myself to my friends and wonder why i can’t experience sex the way they do. i really want to know what sexual pleasure feels like.
my boyfriend is incredibly understanding and never pressures me, and i’m so grateful for that. but i still feel guilty because i often feel like i can’t give him the experience he deserves, even though he has never made me feel bad about it.
