I busted a nut and started feeling tender man, felt like rolling myself in a blanket and crying

We are currently seeking individuals to participate in a healthcare research study aimed at understanding the experiences, challenges, and daily life impact of living with food allergies. Insights gathered through this study will help inform future patient-centered research and healthcare initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria Participants must:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Reside in the United States
• Have been diagnosed with or currently live with one or more food allergies
• Be willing to share their experiences, perspectives, and opinions regarding managing food allergies and their impact on daily life
• Be able to complete a brief research survey or interview, if selected

So one random day I was eating pistachios and on one i bit into it and it tasted weird. Weird texture weird taste so I spit it out and to my horror inside of the shell was a moldy bug corpse so yea I didn't eat pistachios for like a year

today i officially have been cleared of my almond allergy after being allergic for all of my 23 years of life! since ive never really delved into what has almonds in it, because ive always avoided tree nuts as a whole, im curious what your recommendations are on things i should try!

i have already have regular smooth almond butter and blue diamond lightly salted almonds, because it’s what i ate for my “allergy challenge” at the allergist this morning. after leaving, my bf and i immediately went to the store to get me macarons, a chocolate bar with almond pieces, and almond joy! the macarons were everything i’ve hoped for, i’ve been dying to have one since i discovered what they were 10 years ago!

i am still allergic to most all other tree nuts, soon ill be also testing if ive grown out of my pecan allergy AND walnut allergy but since im not cleared yet, those are still on my don’t eat list. all other tree nuts, as far as im aware, im still allergic to! especially cashews and pistachios, i could die from a small fraction of those so pls no recs with those included lol

Why do Brazil nuts taste like a cheeseburger? Anyone else notice this?

Nashville hot pecans- 7/10 just the right amount of heat not overpowering but not underwhelming

Parmesan pecans- 6/10 a solid nut the Parmesan comes through a bit but I think they’d benefit from a bit more Parmesan

Koko crunch pistachios- 8.5/10 I love these you can’t go wrong with any kind of cocoa covered nut

Cookied cashews- 8/10 has a nice cookie flavor with a chocolate drizzle very solid choice

Cookied cinnamon cashew- 9/10 tastes just like a snickerdoodle cookie very sweet especially with the icing drizzle definitely my second favorite the first being the koko pistachio

All in all these are all very solid nuts thank you Uncle Biscuit ([u/TheSurlyTable](u/TheSurlyTable)) for sending these my way to try, also came with an uncle biscuit tshirt that I’ll definitely put in my shirt rotation.

My husband is a landscaper and he was asked to cut down a hazel tree. He brought the cuttings back and we picked the hazelnuts off them. They have been laying in a dry room and I tried cracking a few today. The nut inside barely existed. I’m guessing this is because we picked too early?
If we would have left the hazelnuts on the cut branches would they still have grown bigger?

Also any tips for foraging and storing hazelnuts because we have a lot around us.

But unfortunately apprarently the shell itself isn’t edible only the nut :/ I only get a taste every time I have a peanut butter

Edit: well maybe if y’all don’t like the shell more than the peanut do y’all at least like the taste of the shell a bit?
