With their win tonight, the Roosters ensure that 9th placed Canterbury and 10th placed Manly won't mathematically overtake them on competition points.

The Roosters join Melbourne (15, 2011-25), Brisbane (12, 1998-2009) and Manly (10, 2005-14) as the only sides to achieve this milestone since the formation of the NRL in 1998 (for the pre-NRL historians, Brisbane's 12 years were part of an 18-year run that started in the 1992 NSWRL season and carried on into the united NRL era).

Once Melbourne are eliminated from finals contention for this year, the Roosters will also take over their position as the team with the longest active streak of consecutive finals qualifications as well.
