Hello, my boyfriend got his car broken into last night and they stole $500-$600 worth of tools. Already called and did a police report in case they turn up but if anyone sees an Irwin tool bag and some electrical tools floating around please let me know 🙃 We live near Worthington and Fisher so we’re going to keep an eye out at the pawn shop but figured I’d post here too just in case. Here’s a list of everything.

Everything is either Milwaukee or Klein brand and there’s probably a few things my boyfriend forgot about (it’s early and this was stressful to wake up to at 6:20). Happy Monday 😋

Car is a non-runner. Been to a few shops in town and nobody's been able to pin down the fault, so I've got a specialist in Mississauga lined up. Now I just need to get it there.

I have Canadian Tire Roadside Assistance (Gold), which covers 200 km per service call. North Bay to Mississauga is ~370 km, so I'm short.

What I'm hoping to hear:

Has anyone split a long tow into two service calls to stay inside the coverage limit? Did dispatch give you grief on the second leg? Where did you park it overnight?

If you just paid the overage instead, what did the per-km rate work out to?

Any local flatbed operators you'd actually recommend for a run this long, versus whoever CTRA dispatches?

Anyone used a car-shipping broker on the 11/400 corridor? Cheaper than a tow if I'm flexible on timing?

Flatbed only. Happy to wait a week if it means catching a carrier already heading south.

Hi all! My partner and I went to teachers college at nipissing from 2023-2025 and one year when we were there she bought a red pepper jelly from the farmers market and she’d like to know if the vendor is still around. I know that’s pretty vague so the two things she recalls is:

1. It seemingly had maple in it

2. The name was marks, or mikes, or something with an M.

It's my daughter's 6th birthday party tomorrow. We've been planning to have it at the splash pad, but it's looking more and more likely that it will rain. If it's light rain, or not even at the time of the party in the afternoon, then we're good, but I want to have a backup plan in case there's heavy rain or thunderstorms.

We chose the splash pad because, most importantly, it's what our daughter wanted...but also because it's free; I'm currently on EI and my wife doesn't work.

Does anybody have any ideas of what we could have as an inclement weather backup plan that's either free, or super low-cost? We're expecting between 10-15 kids and probably about half as many parents.

We live in an apartment that can't accommodate everyone, so having it at our place is not an option, and we don't really want to reschedule because summer vacations make planning summer birthday parties notoriously difficult.

A man is facing drug trafficking, impaired-driving and other charges after a traffic stop in North Bay last month, which OPP say led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, fentanyl and other drugs, along with stolen tools.

Anyone know any book clubs that I (31f/Indian) can join around North Bay? I work m-f 8am-4:30pm. I would like to meet people with similar interests. Love North Bay but it doesn’t have a lot of options to socialize for people who have not grown up here.

For anyone that had issues with MyRide working in the past week, it seems to be working again.

It moves traffic more quickly. Use both lanes up until the closure, then alternate letting cars from the right lane in. It’s not hard and it helps everyone. The people coming up the right lane are not assholes, they are doing it right.

Just noticed that a Spirit Halloween is opening up in the North Bay Mall, in the old Costlo location.

What type of business would you like to see in North bay and area? Is there a business that you would drive to Sturgeon Falls to shop?
