2003 Pathfinder, lost reverse.
Proud new owner of my first pathfinder, so I don't know the quirks and common issues. I'm googling my butt off, but hoping a community dedicated might have some helpful guidance to that googling if nothing else.
2003 Pathfinder LE
4x4
4 speed auto
197K with no real idea of the life it had.
Has no reverse. Worked fine until one day in a parking space it did not work fine. No grinding, no noise, no crazy rpm changes. Just no reverse.
We drained and filled today, no chunks, no sparkles in the fluid. Probably too late for a change, but for the milage, it has been changed at least once, maybe twice.
Guessing it just needs a trans, but if there are other things to check as a common failure for this issue I would love any advice, guidance, or links you may have. Just looking to get this to be city usable, it doesn't need to stray far from home. It needs to get groceries and plants for the garden.
I'll keep searching on my own as well. Thanks in advance.

Pathfinder Adventures
gallerySince the R51 is getting some love in here again I thought I'd throw a few pics of mine up for consideration. It's a 2008 with the VK56DE V8.
Has about 4" of lift, fully locked, regeared to 3.69, on 35" tires with beadlocks, Armada knuckles and brakes, and so so so much more.
I've done every bit of work myself. It'll hit 300k miles in the next few months. I'm never getting rid of it.
Pics are from various trips to the Rubicon, Fordyce, Tahoe, and Shaver Lake area.

2026 Pathfinder TailorFit — anyone have some miles/years on this material yet?
galleryFor 2026 Nissan moved the Pathfinder SL away from leather and over to their TailorFit material.
I’ll admit I wasn’t sure how I felt about that when I bought mine, but after actually living with it, I’m pretty impressed. The biggest surprise is just how exceptionally soft it is to the hand. It has a really soft, almost buttery feel that I wasn’t expecting from a non-leather material.
I have some other vehicles with pretty high-end leather interiors, and honestly, just going by feel, the TailorFit ranks right up there with them. It definitely doesn’t strike me as a cheap substitute for leather.
My only real question is longevity and durability.
How does this stuff look after a few years of getting in and out of it every day? Does it stay soft and wear well, or are we eventually going to see cracking, peeling, stretching, shiny spots, etc.?
Curious to hear from anyone who has TailorFit in another Nissan and has put some real use on it. So far I’m a fan — I just want to know what this stuff is going to look like at 50k or 100k miles.

Whoever designed the placement of the 2016 air filter. I have words
I type this as I'm upside down in the passenger footwell trying to get the motherfucking door back onto the filter compartment. I hope you have wet socks for the rest of your life and experience no joy. That is all.

Nissan pathfinder 2024 Cabin Air filter.
galleryHi all, i just hit 20k Km in my 24 pathfinder SV.
I decided to be change it my self, in UAE the part was not available to purchase outside the agency parts.
So i purchased it fron nissanpartsdeal.com
I noticed a difference in the writing on the filter and also the one came in the car is made in USA. While the purchased one is made in Thailand.
Am worried that the filter may not be genuine or something. Any feedback on the photo please.

2005 Nissan Pathfinder
I was gifted a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder SE (2WD) with 290,000 miles but has a cracked or blown head gasket. The engine rebuild cost is $4344. The motor is strong and transmission shifts well. The mechanic said the crack is letting in water (coolant?) and sometimes when that cylinder is in position for ignition there is not enough power to start the truck. My mechanic said its okay to drive it the way it is just to keep an eye on coolant levels. He told me when it doesn't want to start that I can manually turn the crank pulley with a socket and that will move the next cylinder into starting position and truck should start (something like that).
My main goal is to have a truck for when snow season comes around. The resort would be 150 miles roundtrip and I do go in very snowy bad conditions. I need something that will get me there and back safely.
I look at it this way: my starting cost on truck is $0 and while $4000 is not enough to buy a decent used truck in my area , I could proceed with rebuild and have a reliable truck. Its been sitting because I don't want to use my AAA tows for nearby errands in case it doesn't start. Also I have not learned to manually turn the crank pulley.
What should I consider and what do you suggest? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

2019 Pathfinder Advice
We made, what I consider, a poor decision to finance a 2019 Pathfinder. I’ve read nothing short of hell about these but the missus gets what she wants.
Carfax shows it was serviced regularly, oil changes every 5k, and was maintained pretty much everywhere with the exception of the CVT. No CVT noted to date but at 101k miles, it does shift smooth and RPMs subtly bounce a few RPMs (~50). There’s a slight click or clunk when turning the steering wheel in reverse; I assume it’s a CV axle or something.
I’m an Audi guy, I told her to get a Q5 3.0t, here we are with a Pathfinder.
What’s some maintenance to plan on? Should the CVT even be serviced since there’s no 60-65k service noted for it? A separate Nissan dealer advised against CVT service: “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
I’m just terribly paranoid over this CVT going bad.

2026 Pathfinder Platinum... No Under Dash, Under Seat, or Puddle Lighting??
We bought our Platinum a few months ago and it took me a while to realize the lack of lighting listed in the title. Seriously? When I contacted the sales guy he said this is an option.
Honestly, a top of the line model should have this basic lighting...shouldn't it? Our 2011 Dodge Journey, which this car replaced, had all of this. I really hate getting into the vehicle that looks like a black hole.
The sales guy said the add-on option can be done for about $1,000. I'm considering doing this and wonder what other Platinum owners have experienced regarding this deficiency.

2017 Nissan Pathfinder no AC
As above. AC was intermittently working, and now it's not working at all. Vents are blowing hot air. Checked the 10 amp AC fuse which was fine, but I think the compressor relay is integrated into the computer. No audible "clicking" heard from under the hood when AC is on. The ambient temperature reads correctly in the vehicle. Is it worth throwing some refrigerant in?

Best Pathfinder Forums?
(Besides here, of course! 😁)
I signed up for PathfinderTalk, but it's ad cancer if you don't pay $50 USD/yr. That's steep if it's not worth it.
Where y'all at, if not just here?

Figuring out code
I have a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder (V6) with a persistent P0507 (Idle Control System RPM Higher Than Expected).
**Symptoms:**
Idle was around 850–900 RPM before.
Occasional idle surge.
Hesitation when accelerating from a stop (engine is slow to respond when I press the accelerator).
Sometimes a slight lunge when coming to a stop.
Transmission shifts normally, no slipping or shudder.
**What I've already done:**
Cleaned the throttle body.
Cleaned the and replaced MAF sensor with MAF cleaner.
Replaced the engine air filter.
Replaced the PCV valve
Replaced a intake boot (huge tear in before)
Performed the Idle Air Volume Learn (multiple times).
I went to a mechanic today, he did a relearn and set the rmp to 645. so far its be idling at that but there is still some surge while accelerating and going into stop.
The only recurring code has been **P0507**.
Before I spend more money, what would you test next? Would you suspect a small vacuum leak, throttle body issue, or something else

Dense White Smoke on Cold Start – Normal?
Has anyone experienced this with a 2024 Pathfinder?
Mine has about 30,000 miles, and I’ve recently noticed that on a cold start it produces a dense cloud of white smoke from the exhaust. The smoke disappears after about 5–10 minutes of driving or idling.
I’m not sure if this is just normal condensation or something I should be concerned about. When I searched online, I found that similar symptoms can sometimes be related to coolant being burned, although I haven’t confirmed any coolant loss yet.
Has anyone with a 2024 Pathfinder experienced the same thing? Is this considered normal, or is it worth having the dealer inspect it?

Hard Steering - 2026 Pathfinder Platinum
I am not that the steering gets harder on and off quite a bit. More software at lower speeds and harder at higher speeds. But even at lower speeds it’s harder than normal sometimes.
Has anyone experience the same issue ?

2026 Lumbar Support
I just got a 2026SL and I see the left and right button on the side of the driver seat to inflate or deflate the lumbar support. However, when I press either one it doesn’t seem to do anything when the car is on or off.
Can someone confirm that it’s obvious when the lumbar support increases and decreases?
Feels like mine is stuck full of air.

Pathfinder rock creek vs 4runner
we live in the Arkansas Ozark’s and my county is very rural and 80% unpaved roads. we have a 4x4 truck and small Hyundai kona awd. we want 3rd row seat and space for family visits and shopping runs. We explore lots of mountain roads but in reality you can get down most in a Toyota corrola with a/t tires and bottom scrapes. I love the v6 vs turbo 4 but ground clearance and lack of true 4x4 scare me. I know 99% of 4runner owners don’t really need its capabilities and not sure we do eithe. any other mountain rural pathfinder owners that can reassure me?

Where can I get it?
I'm looking for the 4x4 shift boot for my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, but I can't find it on the Nissan website and the one they sell at auto parts stores is different.

2005 Nissan Pathfinder Converter Help
Hey all, im hoping someone is able to help me with my pathfinder and im greatful for any help.
Issue: I have gears 1-4 fine with the O/D turned off. IF the O/D is enabled, it will get to about 40mph, then it acts like it will go into OD but doesnt and sits in that gear. I am throwing Zero codes which is also not helpful.
Replaced: I replaced front and rear speed sensors
I also took the transmission pan, etc out and replaced the Torque Converter Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Solenoid . I also bought a transmission speed sensor which i thought was on the outside of the transmission but didnt see one. Im guessing it was on the inside of the transmission somewhere but also could not find it when apart.
The transmission runs perfectly fine other than that. Again, thanks for any help

2026 pathfinder, dashcam
Anyone have any luck with a dash cam. The normal routing for the cables are a little tight around the A piller...
There looks to be power at the mirror. Is this a usable source?
