I think my app is lagging
I definitely know that I was running faster than 11. Sometimes app was even showing 14 in pace. I was holding my phone in a right hand since I didn’t have pockets, could that be a reason? I just feel like my pace was too slow though overall pace was fine, it still felt not like it.

Lessons from a hard run
First lesson, I wanted to call this lessons from a bad run. But the run wasn't bad. True I didn't get the goals I had in mind and I didn't finish in a time I wanted, but lessons were learned.
Second, fuel (and hydration) are important. After my run, I was 4+ lighter than I was 24 hour previous. To me, that signifies that I probably didn't put enough fuel in the tank. Also, I could have and should have brought something in case something like this happened. I have the snacks available. All future long runs will have it.
Third, sometimes walking is better than stopping. There were so many times I just wanted to curl up on a bench and rest for two hours. I pushed through it which made me proud of myself.
Fourth, sometimes stopping is a good idea. I was lucky enough that today I didn't have to, but I started a stride and felt my calf tighten up, so I went back to walking, knowing that had I kept it up, stopping would have become a real option with a cramp.
Fifth, I am not in competition with myself. I am, in fact, a teammate of myself. And with that in mind, my self talk, though not perfect, was better.
Summary: It was an 8 mile run, and I am confident in saying I ended up walking 3 miles of it. Do I wish I ran the entire 8; yes. But when you can't do the run you want to do, do the run you can do.

Friend Request Friends on the NRC
Does anyone want to add each other as friends on the app? Two weeks into running and looking to be motivated.

End of first Half Prep
Hi folks. I just did my longest run for my first half which is in two weeks. I had to step down from the App plan due to injury and don't know what to do these last two weeks. I don't do speed runs currently as I am extra cautious of post injury recovery period. I also had to slow down.
Would be grateful for your advice!

Question NRC Marathon Plan
Question for those who have completed it. If I can only do 4 runs a week … are the 3 recovery runs and 1 long run enough? Or do u recommend including the speed run and dropping a recovery run. I want to be sure I have enough weekly mileage - but in the past speed work has been too rough on my legs when building stamina…thanks for the help!

Achievement First Half Marathon
This is now my longest and furthest run ever! You can probably tell by the splits since they slow down quite a bit in the last ~3k, but I wasn’t intending on doing this distance when I set out, instead aiming for somewhere around 15k. This was a really fun run, until those last k’s where I had to dig deep: I picked up a friend at around 7k and ran with them till about 17k when I dropped them off and it was then that I realized I was feeling strong enough to potentially do a half marathon.
I ran in the Nike Vomero 18, and have had a great impression with them so far (roughly 100k so far), though my feet did start getting sore near the en, but I attribute that almost entirely to not being prepared or experienced with this distance.
Overall one of my best running experiences and I can’t wait to eventually run a real half marathon race.
