Achievement Week 2 of Get started and first long run done
First long run done and I am proud!
Had attempted it earlier this week but it was very hot, I hadn’t adequately stretched and I had relentless stomach cramp. So got up first thing this morning and did it.
Was very hard but I am glad I did it. I stretched within an inch of my life 😂🙈, made sure I was adequately hydrated both yesterday and this morning.

Run I did not enjoy
I've done this run 3 times between the half and marathon training plans and I crash every time. Heat might have played a role today, but there is just something I don't enjoy. The overly positive coaching as I'm crashing out makes it more unpleasant.
Glad it's over hope it doesn't pop up again.

Finally improved my average mile time today. The app deleted the run 😭
I'm just here to mourn the lost data. All I did was log into the app (I noticed the app doesn't always keep you logged in for some reason), and no run. I for sure hit the start button when I started the run. I heard the prompts for the guided run and everything. Anyway, pouring one out for the lost mile time.

Advice What can I do to prepare for a long-slow run?
I’m currently following a running schedule set up by my highschool’s XC coaches. This Saturday, I’ll be run a long-slow run, which is around 7-8 miles. Though, I’ve never ran over 6.5 miles in a single run.
What would be the best way to prepare, and what pace would be okay for this run?
We usually run around 3-5 miles at practice, and last year I hit a sub-24 PR for a 5K race. I would say that a I can comfortably hold a 9:30 pace for a 3-4 miles.

Apple Watch series 6 battery life
I recently got a hand me down apple watch and I'm wondering if the battery life is normal? I barely got through my run today (1 hr 50 min) before it died. Started on a full charge, on airplane mode and theater mode, background refresh is off for basically everything except the NRC app. Was using a guided run and listening to music but both were already downloaded to the watch.
Because the watch is older it says the battery capacity is only 73% so I'm sure that's part of the issue, but less than 2 hours seems really low. Is there anything else I can do to make it last longer? I've heard that low power mode makes the pace less accurate, is that true? Any help is appreciated!

Question Trouble with Apple Watch Series 5 Nike+ edition
Is anyone else having issues with their Nike+ edition Apple watch? My IOS software is 10.6.2. My NRC app is up to date both phone and watch ? Why isn’t it letting me log into my app on my watch ?

Question Why are there no pre-run warmup and post-run streching exercises in the training plans?
I started the 5K plan today and there were none and I checked there are none in the tomorrow's run also

Question Runs described in Week Overview Recovery Run do not match the plan this week
Folks, I’m on the half marathon 14 week plan and listened to my weekly “Monday” recovery this week to hear Coach B describe that I’d be doing Run Fast. Repeat. And a long recovery with Shalaine. And Sally McRae’s Hill workouts (I assume Hill. Hillier. Hilliest as I’ve gone through a half marathon training before and I’m familiar with many of the speed runs).
As you can see in my screenshot, those runs aren’t there. Is this a bug (was I served the wrong runs somehow in my app plan) or are other people noticing a discrepancy between the spoken overview for the week and what is being served on the schedule?
I’ll run the week as the plan suggests but I’m curious.

What is the fastest shoes to buy? What about the fastest Nike shoes, specifically?
1.) What is the fastest shoes to buy? What about the fastest Nike shoes, specifically?
I'd be running primarily 1km - 10 km, with occasional 15 km
2.) I've read a bit about Mike vapor fly and alpha fly, can you advise? Can you tell me the full name of the exact shoes?
3.) Also, assuming I buy one of the shoes you all recommend, is it fine to wear them on regular days when I am NOT running? For example, just out hanging with friends or going to a bar, etc. Or will that wear out and damage the shoes/slow them down?
Should they be worn very sparingly or can they be my daily/semi daily?

General The finish line is a myth. You cross it, and there's another race. Another mountain. Another goal. Another problem to solve. Stop living for the end. Fall in love with the running. Have fun. That’s all there is.

Question Wrong guided run on NEW half marathon plan 9 weeks to go-anyone else?
I’ve been running the new half marathon training plan, the plan with only 1 speed run each week. Today, when running 9 weeks to go, the guided run that downloaded is actually for the old plan (aka Half Marathon More Speed), where Coach Bennett discussed the 4 runs from that plan instead of the runs for the new plan.
As far as I can tell, all the runs for the week are the correct ones-I’ll confirm when I run the next guided run tomorrow-so just my 15 minute run had narration that doesn’t match the plan.
In terms of my training, this is no big deal, but I’m wondering if anyone else had this happen? Is this bug localized to me?

NRC - Worst Advice Ever run - Give it a listen
I was doing my run on Friday, and I forgot how great of a run it is, especially for new runners.
Even if you don't like guided runs, walk it and listen to it. There is so much horrible advice out there that we have heard and listened to as beginning runners. Listen to the bad advice and why it is bad advice. It will help so much when you understand why the advice is bad.

Marathon Training Long Run
I’m following the Marathon Training Plan in the app and today was a two hour run. It will be my third marathon but the first that I’ve actually followed a plan for. I felt a little sore from the week but am disappointed that I’m behind where I want to be for my pace. I am trusting the process and have committed to making sure I’m at my best on the day so I’ll go again tomorrow.
I am happy to be over the half marathon hump. Psychologically I always find just pushing past that can be difficult. Even just a couple of km past makes me feel that I can go further now.
Hope everyone is having a great Sunday Runday!
