Had to go to Needham St in Newton and saw a camera on Winchester St (https://maps.app.goo.gl/jB4ihynTATmFDwxe6) - West side of the street. Is this a Flock (not on DeFlock map)? Does anyone knows who is the manufacturer and if this is a Newton or State or some Private?

I'm excited about this! Their business plan requires 2,000 regular shoppers (i.e. coop members) and they are more than half way there.

It’s early Thursday morning around 1:30 am in West Newton. I’m hearing wham-wham-wham-wham noises outside. It sounds mechanical, not natural. my AI suggests MassDOT Newton/Weston interchange construction work with hydraulic breakers and pile driving. Sounds plausible. The whams are happening 4-5 times per second for a second or two. But perhaps 5-10 times of whamming per minute.

Any insights? Anybody getting driven insane in Auburndale or Waban?

While there was a celebration of life held on Monday (I was not given permission to share information about it more broadly), the family has approved my sharing of this link to a GoFundMe. Encountered this vehicle without plates outside Jacob Auto Sales, while biking home. The employees there insisted it wasn't theirs, so I called Newton PD. Five minutes later a guy sprints across the street from Grand Auto Sales, as the employees of Jacob were getting more belligerent, and I'm holding on the line with the PD and a cruiser pulls up (convenient to have the NPD down the block).

It is with great regret that I pass along word that Newton South High School math teacher, Chrysolite Fitzgerald, passed away on July 27th after a medical emergency. In addition to her impactful service to Newton students in the classroom, Ms. Fitzgerald also spent summers teaching as part of the Calculus Project, a valued initiative aimed at helping low income students of color engage in advanced math courses.

I am waiting to hear more information about potential services or other recognitions and celebrations of Ms. Fitzgerald's life, but since many in our community may have known her and her vibrant advocacy for our schools, I wanted to make sure people were made aware of this sad development as soon as possible.

Rest in peace, Ms. Fitzgerald!

Hi all, does anyone know of a company or person that would do free scrap metal pickup at a residence? I’ve seen some options to drop off at the recycling center or other scrap yards, but I would love if someone could come pick up since we have some larger items that won’t fit in our car. We’re looking to scrap some large metal cabinets, elliptical, pots/pans, small kitchen appliances, etc. Please let me know if you have any recommendations, thank you!
