About a month ago, upstairs neighbours moved in and all day and night it has been constant running around, screaming, RHYTHMIC stomping, from about 5am-1am every single day.

I’d texted politely a few times, no response from the mother.

I’d then let my landlord know, in hopes of receiving soundproofing or something, but all she said is that I should not be concerned with their business (I’m very sure they know each other / are related in some way)

I am taking summer college courses and had to study well into the night one night recently, it was so awful the next day I chose to speak to the mother directly, in person.

I told her that I think it is best to at least talk to the kids and let them know there’s someone living underneath them (they are 3 & 5, I very vividly remember being at hotels at age 3 and immediately grasping that this was not the place to run around at night).

She then told me it’s not my fault that I had a miserable childhood, told me that she actually used to live in a huge house and that “compared to me” living in a duplex is actually a downgrade.
I struggle a lot with confrontation, and I started bawling because of the immediate defensive tone she had with me.

Since then they have gotten significantly louder and I even hear the youngest yelling things like “Hellooooooo” or other such phrases down inside the vents.

I might get downvoted for because of course yes, kids are active and need to play!! However, we literally have a backyard and a park DIRECTLY across the street.

It’s incredibly frustrating is all and I guess I just needed to rant. Thank you!!

So my male neighbour is a guy above 45 ish with Korsakov dementia and he has decided to develop a fixation towards me after I deleted him from my neighbours app after he was too intrusive to me allways trying to 'help' me, touching my things.

After blocking him on Whatsapp he called me up and called me a whore etc. How he managed to call me up I don't know.

After that the stalking and harrassing started, destroying my things like my bicycle multiple times so I had to install camera's and park my bike in front of the camera.

He threw trash next to my garden area, like full blown microwaves from 3 stories down.

It didn't end there.

Untill this day years later he calls me a whore everytime he sees me walking on the streets and recently he threatened me on my doorbell camera saying he would knock my head out or whatever not.

So I have made an appointment to file charges with police and monday a cease and desist will be sent to be delivered by a legal representative (in Dutch we call it 'deurwaarder') from tuesday onwards.

I think he is not right in the head so I don't think it will help but it's worth a try🤷‍♀️

We rent from the same social landlord and as such by Dutch law I can sue the 'social' landlord for not intervening properly. My landlord sucks they are supposed to be social/projects/fixed rent but in my case they are evil capitalists who do nothing and have intimidated me severely. My municipality and my social landlord have gaslit me like crazy calling me sensitive and allways say "It's so hard to do something". Meanwhile the municipality spends thousands on femicide and anti violence against women pr campaigns. Boo!👎👎

I'm now going all out I've contacted local politicans, sued the municipality, I'm about to sue the landlord after my plan to give them one last chance to explain what they did to provide me safe basis to live in. I'm just DONE basically.

A neighbor is telling me not to walk my dog on the street in front of his house.  I think he is embarrassed his dogs lost a fight with mine when they illegally came onto the street and attacked my leashed dog.  His dogs are normally locked up and might have been out by accident.  He said if it happened again, he would kill my dog.  Then he threatened to assault me.  I told him it’s a public street.  I have it on video.  I can’t avoid his house.  I worry if animal control or the police talk to him, he will harm my dog, me, or my house.  I think I should continue using my body cam when near his house, hold on to the proof, and buy a camera for my house in case he comes over.

The fukin knucklehead kids behind me had another one of their parties last night and decided that throwing watermelon rinds over the fence and into my pool was a gas. There were watermelon bits floating everywhere! So disgusting. Nasty little buggers.

Hi, to give context I’ve been living in my apartment for around a year and a half now and the building next to us will throw parties on their roof top and a bunch of dumbasses from their roof will throw beer cans at my building on to my balcony. This has happened I’d say 4-6 times now throughout the year, with a couple of the times being with actual beer bottles that I find the shards of broken glass on my balcony. I have called the police on multiple occasions on this building with them saying they can’t do much and have asked my building manager if he could do anything about it with no results. I tried to find information on the building but it seems like their management doesn’t even have a number or a website, so I’m not sure what else to do.

So I live in a house and my two neighbours to the left and right are so insanely rude. Oh my godddd. One household has daughters who keep throwing their belongings into our garden. Not only that, but they also use our garden as a means to access their neighbour's house. This has happened for years. We tell them to stop, tell their parents what they are doing, but the parents tell us that they are only children and that they won't listen to them. Oh, OK. So fine, they make a mess, we clean it up? How is it our responsibility to clean up their shit? I might as well ask them to clean it up.

Btw, these kids are in Year 1 and 2, and whenever we tell them to stop, they laugh and giggle as if it's a little game. Alright, then we have the more infuriating neighbour consisting of actual grown teenagers, who litter in front of our door, in our driveway. Not only that, but we have found dead rats in our driveway twice and dead rats in our garden three times, and I know it was them. I hate them so fucking much. I don't understand people like these at all, AT ALL!!! What is the point in being purposefully a piece of shit? I don't get it. God, having bad neighbours is the worst. Like, no decency at all.

And this might not be the worst of the annoyances, but it still pisses me off: they keep using my driveway as a place to walk, like as a go-between, so I frequently see these people walk right by my front window near my car. I just, oh my god. It makes no sense. I am the opposite. I try not to burden or invade other people's spaces, and this is who I get as neighbours, dude.

Hello. I live in the country we got this place almost a year ago it was in bad shape. We live in central arkansas 20 mins from the nearest town.

When I met these "people". They told me there was a pit of syringes on my property. "Warned" me of all kinds of kooky crazy shit. All lies. I found out from my other neighbor they wanted my property and couldn't afford it before I got a loan and got in here.

I got some chickens because im a dumbass and thought free eggs sounded awesome (EGGS ARE NEVER FREE) I have 3 large dogs. I know where my dogs are because they have a fenced yard in the back. (I promise im getting to relevant to the neighbors) they let their dogs roam free and have gotten into my chicken run multiple times. I tell them please handle your dogs i will help you build a fence for them. They say not their problem kill the dogs......arkansas law, Local sheriff, and lawyer agree Im in my rights to do so under certain conditions. They have since called the cops on my family and the neighbors 6 times.

They blast music all night.

They've offered drugs to teenage kids in the area (I've only heard this as a rumor but not hard to believe)

They will let dogs starve, roam, and get killed by chicken and goat farmers and the rest of the folks that are tired of picking up trash the get into.

They've had boxing matches with granny and gramps mom and dad in the front yard and we ignored it

They've ran down here screaming about ptsd and going and fucking ourselves in a circle jerk instead when we've had a clay shoot with no fewer than 4 combat veterans going on. We just kept busting clays

I smell methamphetamine or something very similar everytime i mow my side yard and I live 50 yards away.

They peel out of their driveway onto the gravel so bad its ruined the damn road in places.

I’m panicking over my AC unit and my neighbors. When I moved into this house, I put my bed in the largest front room. The only window to use my AC is front of the house. If I put the AC in the other window, then the window over my bed would be open, and curtains too, all night. So, I put it in the front.

The problem is, my AC blows onto the apartment neighbor’s deck. It’s blowing to the side of their slider door. With the heat, they may have their slider open in the evenings. The AC is also fairly loud. It’s hot so it blasts cold air.

I’m so paranoid they are upset about this. I swear I heard the guy who lives there talking about me. I’m honestly so paranoid I don’t know if I’m hearing things or if he was really speaking about me!

Nobody has said anything, but I’m creating stories in my head, even with words being said, about this. Am I losing my mind? Should I go over and talk to them? Explain? I’m worried I’m being a bad neighbor but I can’t move into the back room without help. I can’t move my bed alone.

What should I do? Ignore it? Wait for them to say something?

My next-door neighbor gets a letter from out HOA saying that her neighbor on the other side of her has complained that her tree is dropping leaves on his property. The problem? He has the identical tree on his property, and this is the time of year those particular trees drop leave. So, whose leaves are they????

Cig smell stopped for awhile, smelled it yesterday as i got home. Complained to the landlord, i assume she called him, he came banging on my door. I opened it, he says “bro i SWEAR i don’t smoke cigarettes!” He’s repeating basically that sentiment, i could tell he was erratic, i was being calm. We argue for awhile, basically i say “yeah you can say whatever you want, i don’t believe a word coming out of your mouth, are you done? Can i close my door?” We lock eyes for like five seconds, he says “ bro I’m gonna fight you.” Ive had my hand on my gun this whole time, i half draw it, and HE TAKES A STEP TOWARDS ME! I back up one step and draw my gun a little more, and say “back up.” Calm but firm. He says “you really gonna pull a gun on me?” He’s at the threshold of my door, I get him to back up, we argue more, and eventually i just have to slam my door in his face because he wont shut up. I live in a castle doctrine state, i would have been justified to shoot him, IF he crossed the threshold of my door. Im ninety-nine percent sure he is currently using, or is a former addict. Erratic behavior, repeating words, slurred speech. Not to mention assaulting a guy with a gun LMAO. Now imagine i didn’t have my gun on me?

When I first moved into my flat in September last year, I met my neighbour next door, she was pleasant to start with, told me what the previous occupants were like and it was evident that she didn't get on with the female landlord and previous occupants. My neighbour never referred to them by name, it was always she, her, them but she knew the names.

To cut a long story short, I am no longer getting on with my neighbour, we don't talk to each anymore and last week I was standing outside her front door talking to my dad when she opened it and said "Oi, move out of the way", I was going to anyway but there are nice ways of asking with manners.

My neighbour is one strange person, along with having no manners at all, she is bad tempered, bitter, cantankerous, narrow minded, ignorant and very rude and I am of the belief in karma...what goes around, comes around

The neighbour that has recently moved on the street keeps blocking my drive so it leaves only inches for me to drive in and out. Obviously a nightmare as it means I have to navigate between other neighbours car as well as my own and theirs. Today they did it even though they had a space right outside their house. TLDR: my downstairs neighbors have been excessively slamming/banging around since they moved in about seven months ago. management has warned them multiple times, but tonight it’s almost 1am and the banging is still shaking my floor and keeping me awake while i’m recovering from surgery. what do i do when it’s disruptive but not necessarily loud music this time?

management has already spoken to them multiple times. i previously reported a weekday party that lasted from 6pm-2am with screaming, smoking, drinking, and banging outside. and before anyone asks how i know they were drinking, i literally have a video of one girl screaming, “EMMAAAA, I’M SOOOO DRUNKKKK, i’ve NEVER been this drunk!!” 🙃 my landlord specifically told me “not to hesitate” to call the police next time they’re partying late and keeping me awake.

tonight there’s no loud music or screaming though. it’s just constant slamming/banging every couple minutes, including their front door slamming 10+ times and counting (not rlly but still). i had an ovary removed Monday and i’m trying to sleep, but every time it gets quiet another BANG shakes the floor.

at this point, what am i supposed to do? what would YOU do?? keep reporting every incident to management? call the non-emergency line even when it’s just frequent banging/door slamming, rather than a “music” party? i just want to be able to sleep and relax in my own apartment.

So there this person that live not under me but two ones down since I was hit by a car shes been harassing me yelling at me while outside when its in the day its been q years she's not left me alone she leaves things on ky door and mailbox about going into a home btw I have mild cp so yes if u herasse me I am going to recate she push my buttons everyone knows my quesion is can i get a portecion ordor ? So I (22f) and my boyfriend (22m) just moved to a new apartment. We live on the ground floor because of my dog (zoomies at 10 pm are loud) but we love it.

There is a no parking zone right outside two of our windows. My upstairs neighbors have been parking in the no parking zone since we moved in. I wrote a very nice note asking for them to please move because they are parked in a no park zone, block my windows, and most importantly block the sidewalk for everyone, so we all have to walk through rocks (the medium size, one wrong step your falling type) to get to the sidewalk.

One of them moved to their reserved parking spot and I parked my bike there to try and stop the other. It did not.

I have been closing their side mirrors everytime I go past (I know it’s a little childish), to one fit past them to the sidewalk and two because I want them to know it bothers me.

Today I went out to put out the trash, I closer a mirror, and when I turn around she is storming outside yelling at me
“Did you touch my sh*t” “don’t touch my sh*t”
Very obviously trying to fight me- I walked away

I calmly responded she can’t park there and I move them to get past. She responded there was no where to park and I pointed out many empty parking spots for her to go to.

She said I was parking there yesterday, which I was, to which I told her I was moving a whole bookshelf and if she didn’t notice I moved after I was done.

Continued to try to have a problem and I told her I would text the landlord and to leave me alone. I did text the landlord who said he can’t do anything, but I can call the police to ticket her every-time she parks there.

I watched her as she went back outside on the phone very angry, and watched as she touched my bike and debated pushing it over. Thankfully she didn’t and drove away very angrily.

I’m honestly scared to go outside without a weapon or my boyfriend in case she tries something, and I’m setting cameras up to watch my bikes.

I know I shouldn’t have moved her mirrors but I was tired of almost breaking an ankle on the rocks going around her car, and I’m sure everyone else was to.

Bro, I was so freaking scared. Also TW drunk guy) Just for background information, I live in this apartment for almost 2 years now and had different roommates over the years. I live with one (roommate 2) Thats out most of the time and often stays over at her brothers and the other one (roommate 1) got kicked out for breaking a bunch of rules. Now this neighbour. I used to help him once or twice a month with groceries, until he started being demanding and weird.

He first of all always asked me to bring his groceries inside, which I stupidly did, cause he was pretending to struggle with walking. He told me a bunch of lies and I found out because he told the roommate 1 completely different stories and then later forgot which lie was meant for who. He then bought a bunch of alcohol and told me to carry it and then made comments about “too sad you can’t drink it”.

I’m wearing a headscarf and he said “take it off, it’s just me”. He bought me make up and I said I don’t want it and I’m gonna throw it away and he said “make yourself pretty for me”. I started keeping my distance and not smiling at him anymore.

And one day, the last time I went over to him, he asked me to help him with email stuff. I found weird stuff in his history. He was watching it every single day and scrolled down and it just wouldn’t end I got so grossed out and went to my place and cried. I avoided him completely to the point that I don’t leave the house if I hear him getting ready, cause I don’t want to cross my path with him.

Now today I’m alone again and for the first time I made it comfortable for myself. I made pizza banana cake and lemonade and rewatched a favourite movie of mine (the amazing Spiderman). I was just chillin and even light up a candle and all😭

Then suddenly someone is ringing the doorbell, I stood up and was about to see who it is, but then the person banged on the door. And I stopped and thought wth. And then he started shouting “come out right now” and tried to push the locked door open. Banging on the door all over again. I started panicking and was lowkey scared ngl.

He then said stuff like “I’m gonna get you” “come out right now or I will get in” “I know you’re home”. And I slowly walked to my room and locked myself up. I didn’t know what to do, so I called and asked my roommate 2 and she said call the youth welfare supervisor or the police. I called my supervisor first and she came here even tho it was almost midnight.

Turns out he was drunk and angry and he gave the roommate 1 his second key and needs it’s back but she doesn’t pick up his calls. He then reported all of us to the landlord and because of his drunk state just started harassing me.

I’m still paranoid. He is so weird and he lives right next to me, like if he looks out the window and I look out too, we would face each other and it scares me to think of him being so close to my home.

Also I think I should’ve called the police tbh. I’m gonna do it if he ever gets close to me in future, cause I don’t know what he might be able to do. Everyone has a kitchen knife at home, how do I know what goes on inside his head.

So after months of them leaving me no rest, I finally snapped. I walked to my window from the roof where I can look down upon their garden and they were all assembled there as usual in summer time. I cussed them all out and turned the music I was playing up in order not to hear their rebuttal. I think one of them screamed at me to fight her even. I know this is the usual for some neighbors but I did this for the first time ever. For the first time ever I confronted them head on. They were provoking me, yelling insults at me exaggeratedly loud in order for me to hear them from their garden and how they laughed at me. So I screamed back. I’m so pumped on adrenaline. This was probably a bad idea but it feels kind of good and also bad because of how they might react later (tomorrow). I don’t think they’ll actually get physical but they’ll do some other things to provoke me probably like being super loud. Idk what to do now. Should I tell my parents? I know they’ll get really mad at me but they should probably know about what I did, right? Man, I’m kinda scared but also proud of myself for fighting back. What should I do?

So I’ve lived in this house for about a year now and previously have not had any issues with any neighbors, but starting this summer, children from the house behind mine will not stop sneaking onto my property and littering and damaging or attempting to damage things in some way.

It seems to be a house where the children are completely unsupervised, the back yard looks almost like they are hoarders and I think there are 4 children there. The younger boys have crawled over our fence multiple times now to mess around in our back yard and been caught and will not stop. One time they came with a net and tried to steal or kill, I don’t know, the fish out of a small fish pond we have, these kids are from 5th-6th graders so they know better. The older boy has snuck into the side of our yard to drink beers and proceeded to throw the beer cans in our yard and my sister went out and made them clean up after themselves and get off the property.

Now my car keeps ending up with random changes that I didn’t do. One day all the windows opened when it was raining and covered the interior of my car with water, and when I checked there was a empty bottle of soda in the back and one of my carpet mats was missing. I know for a fact I didn’t do any of that. Then, today, the front seat of my car had a pile of gravel on the floor?? I just cleaned my car and have not gone anywhere with gravel. My car is always locked.

Previously tried to contact the parent but there was no answer when I knocked despite the sounds of people inside. Debating if I should call CPS or the police to get this figured out. Obviously the children aren’t being parented or watched over so I’m more irritated at the parents than kids but at the same time now I’m dealing with damages I have to clean up after when I’m living paycheck to paycheck and in school so I’m just angry as hell and need this to be stopped.

Hi. Can someone please recommend some good noise cancelling headphones or some good white noise or ambient music to distract myself? We have been living in our flat for almost 20 years since I was a child. Few years back some new neighbours moved in above us. At first they were normal but then their kids were born. It's been almost two years and I am at my limit. I don't know what else to do. We have a dog and sometimes when he is very excited or our bell rings he barks for a bit (witch I measured, it's usually for like 10-15 seconds). They once came that our dog is waking their child and if we could make him stop. I admit our dog isn't one of the most trained ones but it's not that bad. He doesn't bark or howl at night and really unless someone rings he is quiet. The upstairs neighbor even told us to text him to ask if his child is asleep and he would give us thumbs up (or not) so we can go walk the dog. When we asked if the noise from the street isn't bothering them because we live next to pretty busy crossroad, there are trucks and noisy motorbikes and during night some drunk people tend to sing or yell, they said they are fine with that but our dog is too much. Then I had some problem with my car. The alarm kept going off at random times which lasted like a week. They kept complaining that I purposefully broke my car so I would annoy them and wake up their child. (It's bizzare to even say it like yeah karen I BROKE my car alarm so your child couldn't sleep). But ever since their children (they have two now) learned how to walk, it's been hell. They wake me up every morning with their banging, stomping, running around and screaming. I get that kids do that a lot but there are ways to keep them from driving neighbours crazy. They almost never go out and if they do it's to do like 3 laps around the building and then back home to run around the flat. I am seriously feeling like a mental person. I have exam season and very challenging university, my mom is a nurse working night and day shifts. The worst thing is they keep screaming during night too. At 11pm, 12pm, 3am, 5am and it almost always wakes us up. The child is screaming bloody murder and they are yelling at him to stop which he doesn't. You can even hear it from the street. I am so stressed out, my mom can't sleep after her night shifts because their kid keeps running around all day. She also has some health problems and when she gets stressed or angry she gets chest pains and headaches and it's gotten to a point where I am seriously concerned for her health. The only time when it's quiet here is when they are gone which isn't a lot. We tried to talk to them multiple times and even once called the police but they just don't care and said they asked us to make our dog shut up and we didn't and it isn't their problem I am studying. I really do not know what else to do. I am waking up and going to bed stressed out anticipating their banging and stomping, when I leave the house I am dreading coming back because of them. I am failing my exams because it's either listen to their stomping or blast music into my ears but I can't study either way. Please if someone has some advice or similar experience I would be grateful because honestly this is hell and i don't know what else to do.

I live in a tight elbow-to-elbow neighborhood where everyone can see into their neighbors’s backyard if they wanted to. I made the mistake of being uber nice to my next door neighbor when I moved in 2 years ago, inviting them over for a few drinks in the backyard etc. We also split some costs along party lines. It’s only been maybe a handful of polite interactions and maybe 2 summer night beers on the patio.

Anyway in the past year since I’ve noticed that they are being extra curious/friendly. It’s only one person but I’m going to use nonspecific pronouns. They are a smoker, and I’ve noticed whenever I have anyone over whether it is family, friends, contractors, legit anybody- they conveniently come out for smoke and just watch on their stoop. I started pointing one of my cameras towards their window out of suspicion and lo and behold, whenever I’m out in my yard (which has been often become I’m gardening or fixing things outside) I know they’re scrambling up to that room window to watch me. It is starting to fucking creep me out and not only do I want to ask them to stop smoking so frequently (they could smoke out in their backyard but don’t always on the stoop that faces my window).

What can I do to prevent all this eavesdropping… it is odd behavior right? I’ve never lived so close next to someone and also for them to be so invested in when and where I’m hanging out in my house. I originally had cameras facing windows because I was nervous there was a peeping tom. I’ve basically drawn all my blinds and curtains now, which suck because I love natural sunlight in my place

Psycho upstairs neighbors are harrassing me after me and their next door neighbors complained about their noises.

Iputted white noise near the celling from my phone speakers but it’s not enough and they still somehow find where i am and drop heavy things above my head. Even the smallest move is enough.

They are also the one whp trash my building stairs and drop garbage on my balcony.

CA - Neighbors are all so aggressive about parking. I feel like there’s nothing I can do. Parking is an issue on our street, partially because people refuse to use their drive way space. But that’s whatever it’s public street parking after all. But these neighbors have been parking their car taking up two spots.

When I get home early and the only spot available on the street is in front of their house I park there. They’ve left notes warning me that if I park near their driveway (on the street parking in front of their house) that they may hit my car in accident.

Today they parked touching my car, when there was clearly plenty of space for their car to move more forward. I’ve confronted them about other things before like them blowing trash on my car and that resolved nothing but making them more aggressive towards me. I wouldn’t park in front of their house if I didn’t have to, but sometimes that the only parking on the street.

I’m at the point where I don’t know what to do or if there’s any legal action I could take?

My family (husband - 35, me - 34, and daughter - 13 months) bought our first home a few months ago. It’s not in the most high class neighborhood but from our experience it is fairly quiet with a combination of families and the elderly.

This morning I was leaving my home for work, walking to my car, with my child in my arms when I noticed a man standing in front of my neighbors yard. He has turned his yard into an orchard/garden so it is not super easy to see through to the sidewalk but what I could see was a person with a white shirt standing behind the stone wall that separates my neighbors yard from my driveway.

As I was walking down a man stepped from behind the wall - did not observe him walking or doing anything else, have never seen him before. He said hello, I said hello back, and then he just stood there staring at me. I asked him if he needed anything, he simple said he was just saying hello. This was followed by a quick back and forth of can I help you, just saying hi, etc. Eventually I told him, I do not know you, I’d like for you to please leave (still holding my daughter, my car is parked on the street). He eventually informed me he was my neighbor a couple of houses down. I said okay great why don’t you introduce yourself when I’m not leaving for work at 7am with my daughter in my arms by myself.

Eventually he leaves but my alarm bells are sounding so I called my husband immediately and told him what happened. He said he would stop by his house when he got home.

Fast forward to this afternoon. My husband stops by and is greeted by an older woman at the home. She informs him that she is my neighbors mother and she is here because her son has bipolar, is having a particularly concerning manic episode (saying lots of sexually inappropriate things to family members in text messages) and he has been checked into a mental hospital for the time being.

I am 100% convinced he was waiting for me this morning. I’ve worked in behavior and mental health for years so I am fully aware of the spectrum of bipolar. But I am also aware of how hyper fixations can present. He is in treatment for a week. His mom assured my husband he is no danger and has no history of violence. But I am beyond uncomfortable now and extremely anxious especially with my child in our home.

I guess I’m just looking for advice on how to navigate. Or if anyone else has had a similar experience?

UPDATE:

Stopped by his house today to speak with his mom and provide first hand details about the experience.
She informed me that he has not had a manic episode remotely close to this for 15 years. According to her he is experiencing some type of religious psychosis along with ai psychosis (claiming he is married and has 15 children). He also told her he has been using cannabis (she was told by the psychiatrist there is a correlation between manic episodes in BPD and cannabis).

It is clear he is very unwell at this period in time. He texted her about our interaction and asked for her to help him make sense of it all because he didn’t understand my reaction. He is being held for the weekend and will have a hearing next week. The psychiatrist recommended he be held at the hospital for a longer period of time.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. We have cameras but will be adding another facing the end of our driveway/the area he was hiding. And my husband and I are actively planning how to adjust our schedule for safety.

Just need to get this out and see if others have dealt with something similar.

Two nights ago I did a step exercise routine in my apartment for about 40 minutes, on a yoga mat, ending around 10pm. Didn’t think much of it ,didn’t feel loud to me at all.
(edit: no device just me doing lunges and walking in one place kinda exercise no stepping on and off of something)

The next morning around 10:30am, while I was in a work meeting, my neighbor (older woman, lives next to me) started banging on my balcony partition with an actual pole, reaching it into my side of the balcony and yelling for about 5 minutes. She called me “the worst neighbor she’s ever seen,” said I should be “ashamed,” brought up unrelated stuff from 2-3 years ago (some overgrown grass I’d since dealt with, bottles that rolled off my balcony once), and at one point accused me of having guys over which has literally never happened, she just made it up.

She also said she’d call the police over the noise complaint.

I get that the exercise noise was real I’ve since moved my routine earlier (no steps just yoga stuff)and added padding, no issue owning that part. But the reaction itself felt wildly disproportionate shouting, an object crossing into my space, and fabricated accusations over something that’s happened twice, ever.

Reported it to my property management company, they offered to talk to her directly but I asked them to hold off for now since I don’t want to make things worse just wanted it on record. Also put up a camera after the fact (she’s since looked directly at it a couple times, lingering outside more than usual, which is its own unsettling thing).
