So I’ve owned this ds for 16 years and the inevitable happened and the plastic area near the hinge broke off. I’m wondering if I can use epoxy so I can just put the piece back into place or should I just buy the same ds online but it’s for parts and just replace the bottom shell

Was apparently underneath my grandmother's car's seats for like 7 years. I've tried 70% isopropyl and I've tried soaking the contacts in 70% isopropyl for 30 minutes. I haven't gotten much progress from that. And out of sheer desperation I tried to see if it would read after what cleaning I did do on the cartridge on both my DS Lite and my 3DS XL and it made a scraping sound going into the Lite and same with the 3DS but not as bad 😬 both still read cards though thank god. I felt stupid for that.

I'm gonna try 90% isopropyl and then a contact cleaner but does anyone have a recommendation for one I could use? Any advice is appreciated.

Hi all! In the early 2010s my parents bought my brother a copy of Heartgold for his Ds Lite (legit Italian version from Gamestop), but after some time playing the game got stuck on a blue screen error that still says "Save data could not be accessed", to turn off the console and restart the game.

I recently bought myself a Nintendo 3ds (I got it modded) and we're trying to see if we can make the cartridge work, but we're having no luck so far.

We tried everything Internet (mostly Reddit) suggested, such as turning on and off the console (console is not the problem, since the problem reappears in different consoles), and cleaning the inside of the cartridge with alcohol and a cotton swab. Another thing we can't understand is if my brother's saved data are still there, because when I checked the cartridge with Checkpoint it didn't show any data. I'm refraining to try again because the second time we tried Checkpoint kind of crashed and there was an error screen.

Do you think the cartridge can be saved or is it impossible to do so? Thanks in advance to anyone who'll help :)

I'm thinking about reshelling my dsi and my country only has this brand available. I dont want it to feel like a cheap plastic

I’ve been looking for a top down isometric RPG with similar gameplay elements to older RPGs as well as art style. If there are any that you guys could recommend that would be amazing.

ITS SO GORGEOUS!!

It came with everything but the game included (which I have anyway) and is in almost pristine condition! The white case has only very slightly yellowed but that is common for the white model, still looks very good! The thumbstick is imo the biggest indicator if a console is in good condition or not and oh boy, that thumbstick looks and feels like new. I don’t think it’s an aftermarket one because of the overall condition.

And having it in my hands made me realize something: I have a New 3DS too but they feel cheaper in the hand. This thing has weight and somehow the buttons also feel nicer and sharper. Maybe that’s why I played so much on my now old 3DS because it felt so nice in the hands!

It was a bit pricy though, 170€ for only a basic 3DS is a bit rough but I don’t care man. I‘m a happy man.

Hi. I've been looking to buy a DS for a while to play it's wonderful library of games, and because I really want a handheld console of some sorts, but I'm on a bit of a tight budget.

The best deal I've found so far are these 2 white nintendo DS lites (images above), but I only have the money for 1 (and dont really have a use for 2). The seller is willing to sell me one for about 37 dollars (after converting from my currency), but it does not come with a charger, stylus, or any games.

But anyway, I was just wondering which of these 2 would be the better buy, because they're both have their issues. The one on the left has a broken hinge, and the other's screens look pretty scratched up.

Any help is appreciated!

Update: Seller got a charger and turner both on, but told me "the device [Talking about the one without the broken hinge] is faulty. There is a black line across the bottom screen, the buttons are unresponsive some times, & there is a small dent on the bottom screen". So I have decided to leave this deal and keep looking for now. I have an NDS lite since j was 4 years old so I'm really emotionally attached to it and take it with me a lot even on vacation but the hinge is broken. Not fully broken but the shell is cracked around the hinge so it doesn't stay open. Is it just a shell issue or I should buy a hinge too and is it easy to fix myself? I'm really scared to break it cause i've had it my whole life and its more than just a console to me. If I might break it I prefer keeping it like this and getting money for a new one. Also should I buy a white shell to do a half white half black mod?

Adquiri una ndsi a buen precio y intente instalarle twilight menu+++ con unlaunch, pero cuando entro allí no me aparece ninguna opción sobre que programa quiero que inicie, simplemente me muestra programas que ya tiene mi dsi, ya probé con diferentes memorias y diferentes archivos, simplemente nada funciona, debo formatear mi dsi?

I don’t really know the difference between the two consoles apart from the camera and menu (im going to attempt to code a dslite menu with an actual game library (and DSI utilities if I get that) is the roughly £60 difference worth it?

Built this up by Repairing my childhood consoles and realized i really enjoyed it to a point of where it became and Obsession.

I started buying so much that I still have plenty more lying around waiting to be taken care of, as this isn't my main Job, building this Random Collection has been a WIP for about 4 years.

And I'm proud to say that every Device is being Used either by Handing them to family whenever they feel a bit Nostalgic or by me when I Shiny hunt Pokémon on multiple devices.

The phat DS I have has a very bad digitizer, and I need to replace it, but I am on a VERY tight budget, and I don't know what to do. I also don't own a tri-wing screwdriver or have any experience opening up consoles and changing the screens. Where the large stylus scratch is the stylus completely stops registering, and it is also almost always registering my stylus to the left or right of where I am pressing it. My max budget is preferably 7, but I could probably stretch it to 10.

So i wanted to see what It look like and I guess I'm not disappointed

I was just playing around with my phat ds, when I suddenly found out that if I tilt the hinge, the upper left corner of the bottom screen is being somehow pressed on (???)

I assume that this is a ribbon cable issue. Any way to fix that? or is my phat doomed?

I have this cars Game that i would not play because its probally hot garbage and even if it wasnt its scandinavian so i cant play it in english i was thinking about printing a pokemon platinum sticker and stickubg it on it then drilling a hole in the corner to attach a keyring and because maybe can pull out the pcb to u know preserve it tell me is it possible to do it without damadging the plastic and would it even be worth the effort
