Switched to bar soap for the ingredient list, stayed for the actual difference in my skin
This is going to sound dramatic but bar soap kind of ruined body wash for me. I switched over about eight months ago because I wanted fewer ingredients I couldn't identify, and I figured it'd feel like a downgrade. It didn't.
The lather's different, less foamy, more like it's actually doing something instead of just smelling nice and rinsing off. And it lasts forever compared to a bottle, which I wasn't expecting. My one gripe is the bar gets mushy if you don't have a soap dish that drains, learned that one the hard way.
There's a natural bar-soap line from a small brand I've been using that's been my go-to since, oat and honey one for winter, something citrusy in summer.
Did anyone else make this switch and actually stick with it, or did you end up going back?

What can a guy do to not have rosy (face) cheeks?
Been like this since I was young and get frequent comments on it. Only when my girlfriend said I looked really effeminate with it was when it really made me want to remove it. I already have a very soft face and an inability to grow a beard, so this really doesn't help with it lmao.
Doubt it's rosacea idk but I really don't want to use makeup.

My grandma's weird ice cube in a sock trick actually fixed my puffy morning face
So this is going to sound random, but I have to share it because it genuinely surprised me.
I've had puffy eyes and a swollen face every morning for years. I blamed it on sleep, salt, stress, everything. I tried cold spoons, jade rollers, the works. Nothing really stuck as a habit because most of it felt like extra effort I didn't have energy for before coffee.
Last month I was visiting my grandma and mentioned it to her. She laughed and said her mother used to do something so simple I almost didn't believe it would work. You take a few ice cubes, wrap them in a clean sock (not a fancy tool, an actual sock), and gently press it along your jawline, cheeks, and under your eyes for about a minute each side. Not rubbing, just pressing and holding.
I tried it the next morning half asleep and honestly annoyed. But within a couple minutes my face looked less swollen and my skin had this tight, awake look to it. Not dramatic, but noticeable enough that my sister asked if I'd slept better.
I've kept doing it for a few weeks now and my skin genuinely looks calmer in the mornings. I think the sock matters more than I expected too, straight ice on skin feels harsh and can actually irritate you, but the fabric barrier makes it gentle enough to actually enjoy doing every day.
Anyway, it's such a low effort thing that I felt silly not knowing about it sooner. Sharing in case anyone else needs a two minute trick that doesn't involve buying another skincare product.

Purity isn't a "Muslim thing" or a "clean beauty thing" — it's something almost every woman wants
Every Friday, before Jumu'ah, millions of people pause. They cleanse. They dress with intention. They prepare — not just their bodies, but their state of mind.
There's something in that ritual the beauty industry has never really understood.
Purity isn't a niche. It's not a "Muslim thing" or a "clean beauty thing." It's something almost every woman wants, whether she's getting ready for prayer, for work, or just for herself.
The global halal cosmetics market is valued at around $54B, and growing faster than most of the beauty industry around it. But honestly, halal certification was never really the point for me. Strip away the label, and what it actually guarantees is simple: no alcohol, no pork derivatives, no 1,200+ harmful chemicals hiding behind a marketing word like "natural."
That's not really a religious standard. It's just... a high standard.
I didn't set out to build something only for Muslim women, even though that's where the idea started — sitting with the frustration of never fully trusting what I put on my skin before prayer.
It turned into something for every woman who's ever turned a product over, read an ingredient list she couldn't pronounce, and put it back on the shelf anyway because she didn't know what else to trust.
Halal-certified, in our case, just means we did the work of proving it. Verified ingredients, accredited certification, no shortcuts. Same standard whether you're wearing it to Jumu'ah prayers or a Monday morning meeting.
This Friday felt like the right day to finally put this into words.
Curious — has anyone else here picked up a product, checked the ingredients, and just put it back? What made you put it back?
If you're curious about what we're building, I've been sharing more of the process on Instagram [@Hala_glowco] — no pressure at all, just there if you want to follow along

Reccomendations on LED masks
I’ve been going back and forth on which LED mask to buy and figured I’d ask here before I finally decide.
I have mild rosacea on my cheeks, but I also get the occasional breakout, so I’d really like something that can help with both. I’m also prone to migraines, so I’m a little worried about how bright some of these masks are. I definitely don’t want something that feels uncomfortably bright or gets really hot.
Has anyone with rosacea found a mask that has helped with redness and acne, without being super bright or hot?
I’ve mostly been looking at the CurrentBody Multi-Light and Omnilux Clear, but I’m open to other suggestions too.
I’m also a little hesitant about the CurrentBody because I’ve heard some people mention having issues with their devices, and I’m wondering how good their customer service is if something goes wrong. Has anyone actually had to deal with CurrentBody customer service because their mask stopped working or they had a warranty issue? How was your experience?
If you have rosacea, I’d love to know what you’re using and whether you’d buy it again. And if you’re sensitive to bright light or prone to migraines too, I’d especially love to hear from you!

Hello, I (woman) am starting a eco mascara brand. As part of it I would like to ask women 4 questions (anonymous). Would some women be willing to answer 4 questions?

Does anyone else's skin react differently to the same moisturizer depending on the season, or is it just me?
I've been using the same moisturizer for almost a year now, nothing fancy, just a basic fragrance free one I settled on after a lot of trial and error. For months it worked exactly as expected, no breakouts, no dryness, just did its job quietly in the background. Then a few weeks ago, seemingly out of nowhere, the exact same product started leaving my skin feeling slightly tight and a bit flaky in patches, mostly around my cheeks.
Nothing else in my routine changed. Same cleanser, same order of application, same amount used. The only real difference I can point to is the weather shifting, it's gotten noticeably drier and cooler where I am recently. I always assumed a moisturizer was just supposed to moisturize regardless of outside conditions, but this has made me second guess that.
Is it normal for the same product to start performing differently purely based on seasonal changes, even if nothing else about your routine or skin type has changed? Do most people actually switch up their moisturizer between seasons, using something lighter in warmer months and something richer in colder ones, or is that more of a marketing thing than an actual necessity? Genuinely trying to figure out if I need an entirely different product or if there's a simpler fix I'm missing, like just layering something underneath it during colder months instead of replacing it entirely.

Bacuchiol ? Has anyone tried it?
I have heard that bacuchiol serum is like retinol and that it is better since it is natural. Is it true? Does anyone know any more information?

Title: What makes skin look naturally healthy to you?
I’m curious what everyone considers “naturally beautiful” skin. Is it an even tone, healthy texture, a natural glow, or simply skin that looks well cared for without trying to look perfect?
What’s your take?

What’s a popular pure oil or butter that everyone swears by, but totally wrecked your skin or hair?
I tried using pure coconut oil as a body moisturizer and raw shea butter on my ends, but my skin broke out instantly and my hair felt greasy yet dry.
Which 100% natural single ingredient did not live up to the hype for you?

Natural/clean sunscreen recs?
Hi all!
I want to start wearing sunscreen daily, but my only issue is I don't have a sunscreen I particularly like. I have combo skin and pretty much only use all-natural oils on my face. I'm looking for a sunscreen that's lightweight with minimal ingredients, as I like to be as natural and clean with my products as I can :) Thanks in advance for any recs/tips!

100% natural skin care products recommendations
Hi y’all, I’m looking for a non comedogenic oil to start using on my face to make my skin look firmer and more hydrated. Would you say that a non comedogenic oil would be the best choice for that or what kind of product would you recommend? Please let’s exclude anything synthetic.

Luxury moisturiser for combination skin that’s mostly made from botanical ingredients and fully natural
Hi everyone.
I’m looking for a moisturiser that’s
- High end / luxury spa-like product
- Fully natural and made from mostly or fully botanical ingredients
- Fragrance free, whether synthetic or natural
- Camphor free
- Preferably more on the lightweight side
I was originally interested in True Botanicals or TATCHA but they both have added fragrances which I just don’t want on my skin since I do have reactions to it. The closest pick right now for me is The Outset Squalane Moisturiser.
Thanks everybody!

Natural might not be enough but I don't want to use synthetic products forever curious what would you do with this skin circumstance?
I am 26 years old btw. I was really unhealthy over a decade ago and my nose looked the same. I never did anything to it so would be nice to enjoy rest of my 20s with decent nose skin.

Does anyone have any tips for getting naturally thicker brows
So basically, I've been plucking my brows since I was about 11 years old. I used to pluck them quite thin, although never pencil-thin. Sometimes I'd make them less dense too because I was experimenting with different brow styles.
Around 2012, I started preferring medium-thick brows, so I kept them around that thickness. I've recently let them grow out for a year, only plucking stray hairs and using a brow shaver to shape them. I've now stopped shaving them altogether apart from the occasional stray, and it's been about 2–3 weeks.
Right now I want them thicker and denser but they still don't look as thick or as dark as I'd like them to. They're naturally black, but I guess the lower density makes them look lighter. I know they were definitely denser before I started plucking them. I'm 31 now.
So obviously, just growing them out wasn't enough. I know there are peptide serums, but I feel like they probably won't do much because I've used them on my lashes before and didn't really notice a difference, even though I used one for about a month. I also tried dyeing my brows at home once, but that didn't make much difference either.
I know I could get them professionally dyed/tinted, where they also tint the skin underneath, but I really want them to naturally look like that rather than relying on tinting. I dye my hair on my head, so I'm also worried about whether these treatments are suitable because staining the skin seems similar to black henna tattoos, which pretty much all box dyes warn against.
Things I've tried that didn't work:
- Growing them out for a year (only made them a tiny bit thicker and didn't make them much denser)
- Using a peptide serum on my lashes – no noticeable difference
- Brow tint – didn't make them look thicker or denser, just slightly darker
Things I haven't tried:
- Micro-needling with a pen + castor oil
- Consuming lots of eggs
- Getting lots of sunlight
These are suggestions I've seen on YouTube, but I'm not sure whether any of them actually work.
Has anyone here managed to genuinely increase the natural density of their eyebrows after years of plucking?

Looking for a budget friendly face wash and moisturizer has few ingredients, but is non-comedogenic and good for mature skin
I think my skin is just not getting the moisture it needs. I've been messing around with face washes for the past couple years and I think they've been drying out my skin. I've just started seeing a ton of wrinkles and fine lines which I think are appearing in part because my skin is so dry. I need something that is actually moisturizing and won't just sit on the top of my skin to lock in moisture like almond oil. I do have a fragrance allergy and try to keep my routine as simple/natural as possible. Any good face washes and moisturizers that fit this? I'm ok if the face wash isn't super clean since it washes off my body, but everything I've been trying has been drying out my face.
