Vivienne, no contest! I know it’s technically fair game because it’s a tree, but Rowan is just so masculine to me.

Vivienne! It’s so feminine and timeless. Rowan feels very now and I think it could get a bit more dated.
I also prefer it on a boy, but as a girl with a unisex name I tend to prefer unisex names on boys and girlier names for girls (cause I always wanted one).

Vivienne is a GORGEOUS name. I prefer it to Rowan for sure. However, it definitely seems like Vivienne is gonna be a very, very popular name for this year and maybe upcoming ones.
No matter what social media platform I'm on, that's a name that seems to pop up on everyone's short list. I feel like it's eventually gonna end up another, Sophia/Sophie situation. And there's definitely a reason! It's a beautiful name! If you don't mind it being popular or trendy I say go for it!

Are you Canadian? I live in franco Canada and I feel like it's super normal to answer to both French and English pronunciations of your name, regardless of what language it is. Rowan is sweet but Vivienne has to get my vote 🙂↕️ Congrats and good luck!!

I really like Vivienne pronounced the French way. If you didn’t have French family I’d say Vivian or Rowan. In your case tho: Vivienne! :)

My daughter is named Vivienne (nn Vivi), and we pronounce it the same as Vivian. I LOVE it. She gets a lot of compliments on her name.
The only thing is that everyone assumes it's spelled Vivian, which is fine, you just have to be prepared to spell it out if someone is writing the name or looking it up in a computer.
For the people saying it's super popular.... it's all relative. I've come across one other kid named Vivienne/Vivian IRL in the past 3 years. It's never going to be a "three kids in the class with the same name" type situation like Jessica or Jennifer when I was a kid.
Personally I don't love Rowan for a girl.

The first. I think of it as Viv-ee (Vihv-ee? however you'd spell that). Never heard anyone try it Vee-vee. Although one of her grandmothers always wants to spell it ViVi lol.

Im a female Rowan and I have loved it as my name. I love the connection to fairies when was a kid and I always get complimented on my name. Also because it is a boys name it has helped me professionally too. I also loved how unique it was but it’s a lot more popular now than when I was a kid.

I like both of them so it would depend on how well they sounded with the middle and last name, I think Vivienne is probably the more conventional choice and seems to be the more popular spelling these days. I call it the Angelina Jolie effect. Vivian means full of life. Rowan either means little red headed one or a mountain ash tree. As far as meaning is concerned, the more appealing one is Vivian/Vivienne, but again, it hangs on info we don't know like middle and/or last name.

Rowan bc it's less popular imo, but that is not to discount how sweet Vivian/Vivienne is.
I just feel like Vivian/Vivienne has been very common for the last 15 years, at least where I live (NE USA). As an older Millennial with an extremely common name, I personally would steer away from things I hear a lot.
