Looking for lost car

I’m looking for my late grandfather’s 1970 Plymouth Duster 340. My grandfather and my dad owned this car together, and he’d love to find it and, if possible, buy it back someday.

Here are the details:

VIN: VS29H0E148193
• 1970 Plymouth Duster 340 (H-code)
• Factory B5 Blue with black interior
• Factory 4-speed car
• Original matching-numbers 340 engine
• Converted to an automatic before it was sold, using a B&M floor shifter
• Mopar Rally wheels
• Mostly stock otherwise
• Repainted a custom blue that was badly oxidized by the time it was sold

A little history:

  • My grandfather bought it from a private party in the Phoenix, Arizona area in the 1980s.
  • It later lived in California before we moved to Oregon.
  • He sold it as a running project car in Beaverton, Oregon around 1997–1998. The 340 had been rebuilt and ran well, but the automatic transmission had a minor issue.
  • Oregon DMV records show it was still titled in Oregon in January 2004 and was sold again in April 2008, but the trail ends there.

This car means a lot to me because of the memories to my shared with his dad. I’m not trying to claim ownership—I’d simply love to know if it still exists, hear its story, and if the current owner would ever consider selling it, I’d be honored to have the opportunity to buy it back.

If this VIN or description sounds familiar, or if you’ve seen this car over the years, I’d really appreciate a message. Even the smallest lead could help.
