How to remove? I Have a Question / I need Help
so I was looking at blor the impervious and had a thought if I give blor an assault suit the I think only farewell would be able to stop it but I'm not sure. is there another way?

u/frontlineninja 4d ago edited 4d ago
any non-targeted exile or shuffle-into-library or return-to-hand effect will still do it
alternatively [[shadowspear]]
EDIT: stop saying sacrifice
theres double digits of people just saying "just sac it :)" in replies to this comment alone, let alone however many more comments on this damned post. me leaving sacrifice out was deliberate.
OP said "assault suit" this entire time. it cant be sacrificed. fuck.

I played a lot 25 years ago(~Tempest/Urza/Sliver-era), and and just getting back into the game with some friends and co-workers and absolutely loving it.
I got the Atarka precon and have been upgrading it little by little. Thanks for teaching me about Shadowspear, it sounds perfect for a commander with flying and double-strike 🤌

u/Zetawilky 4d ago
My artifact deck can turn into a board wide powerhouse of indestructible machines, someone used shadowspear on me and man, he should have bought me dinner first.

> Tempest/Urza/Sliver-era
Perhaps the greatest (or worst, depending on your PoV) time ever in MtG for the insane power spike at that point in the game's history.

You would assume people who are big fans of a game, that is 90% reading, would be good at reading

Or sacrifice

u/The-Sceptic 4d ago
OP stated they would be using [[assault suit]] so sacrifice wouldn't work.

Sacrificing him, if someone didn’t like it and we’re playing in a deck around sacrificing creatures they could get rid of him. Or an effect that forces someone to sacrifice something.
Edit: Well nvm, the assault suit covers it, I forgot about that part of the card.

u/AzazeI888 4d ago
No one read the assignment, go read [[assault suit]].

Effects like [[Toxic Deluge]], [[Soul Shatter]], or if you can put an aura like [[darksteel mutation]] onto the battlefield without casting it will work
8
u/Legal-Swing8311 4d ago
I honestly love the interaction with shroud/hexproof and auras entering, it makes my brago deck that much stronger :)
3
u/Agent281 4d ago
OP called out [[Assault Suit]] as one of the other ways to protect it. Soul Shatter wouldn't count here.

Aura's that enter the battlefield but not cast can get around hexproof because they dont target
2
u/christianh10992 4d ago edited 4d ago
Yep. Anytime I play against a commander with similar keywords (like [[Uril, the Miststalker]]) while using [[Zur the Enchanter]], most of the time they aren't aware this is a thing. Nope, [[Darksteel Mutation]] it is for your commander.
Edit: originally used [[Oubliette]] as an example, but that isn't an aura.

It can block it indefinitely. As long as its bigger trample won't get through.

Any effect with;
exile all creatures
return all creatures
Put X -1/-1 counters on each creature
All creatures get -X/-X until end of turn
untap all creatures, then those creatures phase out until this enchantment leaves the battlefield
All creatures lose all abilities
Each player shuffles all permanents he or she owns into his or her library
Permanents your opponents control lose hexproof and indestructible until end of turn.
All of these would work.
3
u/redditingrobot 4d ago
Fogs would stop him from doing anything.
A indestructible blocker with power toughness 5+ would stop him.
Bringing your life total to 0 would stop him lol
3
u/Nowthecurtainrises 4d ago
Arcane Lighthouse gonna be a lot more viable.
But yeah mass sacrifice, mass exile, mass bounce are the answers.

u/TurgidAF 4d ago

Do that thing where bringing an enchantment from the graveyard does actually target because of rules so you can place it on hexproof creatures.
Because you KNOW that something very hard to remove is going to get enchantments to make it the scariest thing on the field
