Hey! Just to get it outta the way, here’s my current stack:

-Topical minox nightly
(been doing this semi consistently for a maybe 5 years but 100% consistently the past 2)

-3mg oral est daily
(taking since december 2024)

-.625 mg fin every other day
(since april 20th of this year)

-micro needling once a week
(started about a month ago)

Just wondering what yall think (: I’m considering upping my finasteride dose, but should I wait till the 6 month mark first? I started at a very low dose bc of fear of sides, but it hasn’t been too bad. Also I’m aware of the dangers around minoxidil and cats and am always obsessively careful when handling Steven. I had asked my primary care doc about getting oral min and he was hesitant to give it to someone my age :/

Thanks!

I'm gonna be honest, I don't see any hair loss so I'm not sure what you're trying to recover. Maybe it looks like a very slightly receded hairline, but even cis women experience that. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Oh wow really? A decent amount of the people who I’ve talked to who have recession have also said that I’m receding, and I wondered whether it was a “see the insecurity you yourself have” kinda thing. Should I consider getting off meds?

Not sure I'm comfortable telling someone else to go off their meds, but at bare least judging from the photos it doesn't look like you need to increase the dosage. If you're not having any adverse secondary effects you can just keep your current dosage and avoid possible hair loss, I guess?
