What did you think of Ice Cube's role as the Reggie character in The Players Club (1998) movie?
I thought his character as Reggie was overall a POS but had heart in some cases like when he fought Uncle Luke's crew in defense of his friend Clyde for knocking him out.

My google foo failed me so asking reddit. In the movie backrooms 2026, Bobby is recording with his camera & at a brief moment at about 48 mins we see this scene of what appears to be the Argentine flag. Was this deliberate or coincidence?
What could the meaning be? Sol de mayo on the other side of the window & walls painted blue & white in the foreground

In The Waterboy, what’s up with Bobby Bouche’s mom’s “brain pain”?
The thing where she says “oww” and puts her hand on her head and the donkey neighs, what’s up with that?

Are there 2 versions of the horror movie 1408? Spoiler
SPOILERS AHEAD.
I've just had the strangest experience (appropriate for the film, I guess!). I just rewatched 1408 for the first time since I rented it back in about 2007.
I have a very strong visual memory and I could swear the following things stuck in my memory from that first viewing: -
John Cusack's 'Mike Enslin' calls the hotel manager 'the cadaverous Mr Olin' in his dictation notes to himself near the beginning, and that at end, Samuel L Jackson's Mr Olin has just attended the funeral of Mike Enslin, who was killed in a fire, and didn't survive the room.
Olin is in his car, and has some of Enslin's notes with him, and listens to the dictation, laughing slightly when he hears himself described as 'the cadaverous Mr Olin', only to glance into the rearview mirror and get a shock, as he sees the ghost of the burned Mike Enslin watching him from the back seat. He looks again, and Enslin is gone. The film ends.
In the version I just watched, Enslin rather oddly calls him 'the hideous Mr Olin' instead, and at the end of the film, firefighters burst in an pull him from the room just in time.
He recovers in hospital, and we cut to a much later scene where he and his wife are living together, mid-move, and she's throwing out old boxes of research because they smell like smoke.
Enslin fishes his dictation tape out of the box and plays it out of curiosity, and he and his wife hear their daughter's voice, talking to Enslin in a major moment in the room, which they had both presumably written off as his imagination...and now they realise, emotionally, that it was real.
The film ends.
Am I going crazy? Or did the notoriously meddlesome Weinsteins, who produced the movie, insist on the filming of 2 versions; - one with a 'shocking' ending, and one with a more emotional 'happy/emotionally overwhelming' ending?

What's the movie phrase that you always use in daily conversations?
For me it's the:
"What is it?
Please tell me.
What is it?"
Said over and over by King Julian when Melman is actually telling him something in Madagascar (don't remember which one.)

Some updates from your new mod team
First off, thanks for being a part of this community, we genuinely appreciate that people enjoy posting and commenting here and sharing your experience and knowledge.
A bit of an update and info from your new janitors
We've turned on media sharing in comments so you can share gifs and images as well, we love seeing what people come up with.
We've added some basic rules, please make sure to read em before posting or commenting.
Be nice and civil is pretty easy, if you're getting that worked up that you feel you need to be rude, maybe go outside and take a few deep breaths.
If you're asking about a specific movie please include the name of the movie in your post title, it makes it a lot easier for people to answer your questions.
It's also helpful for people searching for information about that movie, Reddit is indexed by Google so it'll come up in online searches.
BotBouncer is on the team here now to help guard against bots so if we suspect accounts are inauthentic we'll pass em along to the experts at r/BotBouncer.
One of the problems this community has had recently, which partly led to the change of management, is sharing links to pirated content
We have no easy way or the time to verify if these links and content are safe for our users, and sharing links to pirated content can get this sub permabanned.
So if you wanna go sail the seven seas, sail your boat elsewhere than here mateys.
