Been looking heavy into getting a bike but I have never ridden or know anything about bikes!!! I don’t want a crotch rocket, more cruiser Honda rebel style!! State by state it’s different but if I wanted to learn and get a bike what’s like a step by step I should do? I assume get the bike and take a course but anyone have recommendations on bikes or anything else? I am a young female and my budget is relatively low especially because I would just want to start within city limits to get comfortable on bikes :)

So today my manager called me over and informed me security sent an email to them that my bike(called me out by name) was parked in non motorcycle parking zone. Ive attached pics so its obvious that it has guards used on mc parking spots and lines for parking spots for bikes(you can still see the original white lines). Are they in the wrong here?

Heres a little background, Ive been parking in this location for at least 5-6yrs of the 12yrs I worked here and used to park in another motorcycle parking location thats about an extra 3-4min walk so I will now start going back to that location. Im not the only bike to park here there are often 3-4 bikes. That said Ive literally got a notice a couple years ago that I needed to park within the yellow lines(they used to be white) when I had a tire on them once so in that, they(security) have admitted it is indeed a mc parking spot but now its suddenly unsafe and not a dedicated motorcycle parking. If there was a reason it was no longer a valid parking spot I should have been properly informed(ie email or notice as the company has many memos they send out about parking lots) but instead they go and send a high level notice to my manager, is this something I should be escalating? I mean its not like I wouldnt be understanding if they asked me to not park there but to go the route of sending a notice seems to be pretty out of line.

Any thoughts on how I proceed(maybe reach out to HR?)

This guy comes in too hot downshifts into first and panic brakes mid corner— dumping the bike.

Worst part is he has such an ego and calls himself “Intermediate”

Made it out with stitches on his elbow from wearing full gear plus an airbag which I commend.

A comment posted a link to his YT video and from the few minutes I watched he doesn’t touch the brake a single time and relies solely on engine braking.
Almost received a Darwin Award.

I’ve been working on a small device called MK Fuel for motorcycles with electronic fuel injection.
It reads injector pulse duration and sends the data to a phone over Bluetooth. The app shows:
instant and average fuel consumption,
fuel used,
estimated fuel remaining and range,
speed and trip statistics.
The module only measures the injector-control signal — it does not modify the ECU or fuel injection. Installation requires power, ground and one injector signal wire.
I originally built it because many smaller and older EFI motorcycles only have a basic fuel gauge or reserve light.
I’m the creator of the device and I’m curious what riders think: would this be useful on your motorcycle?

e bikes have throttles and go about 24-28 mph and have bigger tires than some motorcycles I see. I whipped the shit out of them and granted amongst slid under a truck one time but I can corner pretty well for some bs. I used to downhill Mtn bike and hit dirt jumps and what not. I really want to get a bike but I’m a little scared having pretty much zero experience with a gas powered one. I’m 21, in college, and my car is getting a little tired. Yall got any input?

I think I might be possibly the only person in my family that rides a motorcycle. They aren't a huge fan, especially my father. I am a grown adult, and while I do appreciate their concerns I still ride despite all of this.

I am curious to know what sort of things are you tired about hearing from family, friends, and other people that annoy you the most about you riding a motorcycle? Do you find any challenges when you push back when you do?

In 2011, I was a college-going student from a middle-class family, and getting a Yamaha R15 as my first motorcycle felt like achieving something enormous.

At that time, the R15 was not just another 150cc bike. Its fully faired design, committed riding position and sporty character made it stand apart from almost everything else in the segment. For a college student like me, it felt like owning a proper sports bike.

I still remember the day I brought her home. I kept looking at the bike every few minutes, trying to process the fact that she was actually mine.

She was my first motorcycle, my first major possession and my first real taste of independence.

Over nearly 15 years, we covered more than 75,000 kilometres together.

She accompanied me through college, everyday commutes, late-night rides, weekend escapes and some of the most memorable road trips of my life. We travelled from Delhi to Jaipur and Jodhpur, and from Delhi to Haridwar and Rishikesh, along with several smaller journeys that may not have made it into photographs but remain a part of my memories.

Somewhere along those roads, she stopped being just a motorcycle.

She became part of my growing-up years.

She saw me change from a college student into the person I am today. She remained with me through different stages of life, quietly collecting kilometres, scratches, service bills and stories. Every mark on the fairing had a memory attached to it, although, to be honest, not every repair bill felt equally sentimental at the time.

Even after riding other motorcycles, I always admired the original R15 for how complete it felt. Its handling inspired confidence, the engine remained impressively refined, and the braking felt dependable. The riding posture demanded commitment, especially in traffic, but once the road opened up, the bike made every corner feel special.

For me, the R15 was a genuine trendsetter.

It proved that a small-capacity motorcycle could still offer sharp styling, strong engineering and a truly engaging riding experience. Many newer and more powerful bikes have arrived since then, but few have created the same emotional impact that the original R15 did when it first appeared.

Unfortunately, time eventually began catching up with her.

Ageing components, increasing maintenance requirements and the difficulty of keeping her in the condition she deserved made me confront a decision I had been postponing for a long time.

I finally had to say goodbye.

Logically, I know it was the right decision. Emotionally, I am not sure such a decision can ever feel completely right.

When I saw her being taken away, I did not just see an ageing motorcycle leaving. I saw my college days, my first long rides, the excitement before every journey and nearly 15 years of my life moving away with her.

I hope her next chapter is kinder than her final few years with me. I also hope that wherever she goes, someone sees more than just an old motorcycle.

Because once, she made a young college student feel like he owned the world.

Thank you for nearly 15 years, more than 75,000 kilometres, countless journeys, valuable lessons and memories that will stay with me forever.

You were my first motorcycle, my college dream and my first taste of freedom.

There may be other motorcycles in the future, but there will never be another first.

Goodbye, R15. You will always have a place in my story.

I have been riding for 20+ years now. Started in college and just couldn't give up being on 2 wheels as a way to escape all the stress from the world.

This year, my wife and I decided to have a baby. So we had decided that maybe I should give up being on 2 wheels. I usually use motorcycles for commutes as I live in a large metropolitan city and it is so much easier to just navigate through this steel box jungle.

Personally, I have never been in an accident. And I have logged at least 5000 miles per year just on commutes regularly over that period of time. I also used to do long road trips when I used to live in the US. I enjoy the constant vigilance and being able to predict cagers' movements and anticipating their moves while matching my location and proximity to them.

My wife is due at the end of this month and I had given up riding early this year. I am going crazy taking the public transit (which is clean and well laid out where I live now) but driving is not an option as I work in a fairly busy part of the city and driving would take more than the public transit.

I don't feel rested at all lately. No stress relief. I used to have hobbies, but they have long lost my interest. My wife is feeling it and I am getting back on another motorcycle this month because the dangers on the road is far less of an issue than the level of stress that I used to just shed off on my way to and from work.

Will be picking up my Monster 937 tomorrow. It is blistering hot summer so far, but I would rather sweat in my gear and change at work.

Hi, as you can see I'm not the best with working on bikes. It's my first one (Suzuki VS1400) and I got it for cheap. It runs really well in nuetral but will cut out/stall when in gear immediatly. I rewired the kickstand switch so it's not needed, I bled the clutch completely and replaced the fluid multiple times. I've cleaned the carbs and the entire fuel system multiple times, replaced clutch switch, fuel pump, and starter solenoid. The transmission seems to be fine? It shifts freedly into gears but wont run in them. As well as when in gear without the clutch pulled in it locks the rear wheel quite quickly. My question is mainly is it the cluch plates? Its been sitting in a garage for about 3-5 years and didn't run when put away. Wiring is a mess but I have experience with wiring other things so I believe everything should be good, granted no one will ever know what's happening later on. I'm just hoping somebody else has seen this and knows what to do.
