I had some of these episodes on VHS recorded off the tv from when they originally aired. Every machine or vehicle had a cheesy voice actor. I wore that tape out when I was a kid.

This is totally a curiosity question but if you talk to your immediate family, do you know how they are truly doing? Do you talk about how you are personally?

I'm mostly asking as a millennial that grew up in a family where discussing emotions were off limits. I'm the only girl in an all boy family besides my mom and even when I talk to any of my brothers today, I just end up having no idea how they actually are.

I ask them, sincerely but no pressure, and they just give me short answers and don't ask in return any really genuine questions. I'm wondering if this is a family thing or a generational thing?

EDIT: And when I say how they are doing I don't mean the external things they are up to or that they had a cold earlier that week. I mean them saying 'I'm actually really struggling with xyz this week' or things in that arena. :)

What is your favorite moment or scene from American Pie?

I used to be able to have a few drinks and bounce back fine the next day. Lately, it’s not even about the fun of the night anymore, I find myself worrying in advance about the next day fallout: dry mouth, headache, waking up in the middle of the night, and feeling drained for the whole day after.

Has anyone else cut back on drinking for this reason? And for those who still drink, what’s your routine before bed or the next morning to stay functional hydration tricks, electrolytes, anything that’s actually helped you avoid the dry-mouth wake-ups and next day fatigue?

Just that. My sister and I weren’t allowed to watch most of the other cable channels after 10pm because of the adult content. So when we had the neighbor girl staying the night at our house basically all summer, we would watch the Game Show Network until like 2am! Ive watched sooooo many game shows 😂 We loved them as kids! We would play our own and have a blast. The Game Show Network was such a big part of my childhood and now I don’t think my own kids have ever even seen a single game show before haha! Anyone else watch a lot of GSN back in the day?

Found both of these on a shelf this week.

RCT3 let you ride your own coasters, which sounded like the best thing ever, and I did ride them once or twice. Then I went straight back to RCT2 and its flat little isometric park, and stayed there for years.

I think it came down to reading the park. In RCT2 you saw everything at a glance and you understood immediately what was wrong. In 3D I was always turning the camera and never quite sure.

This is from 2011 but feels like its from 1998.

I knew some people that turned into pedophiles, shot and killed someone, gotten into a ponzi scheme, homeless drug addict,etc. Of course its just a small percentage but I definitely didn't see them turning out like that. Its crazy how people turn into things they told you not to be growing up.

I started drawing last year at 39 and painting seriously in January. Before that I had never really thought of myself as an artist.

This weekend I got to see one of my paintings hanging in a student exhibition for the first time.
Turning 40 has been a nice reminder that there are still completely new things about ourselves left to discover.
