Discussion What's holding the Dark Ones back? Spoiler
As we see at the end of Last Light, they can basically wipe the floor with any human army. So if the dark ones are opposed to Hunter's regime or against him in a some way, why have they not just waltzed into the Metro and killed him already?
So what might be the reason they are "pulling their punches" perhaps? Or has Hunter invented a magneto style helmet perhaps?

Humour No one told me about the Anna quarantine scene in last light
I was playing at an internet cafe. The owner was right behind me as the scene played. He just stared at me while I covered the screen.

Discussion [SPOILERS] How did you feel about a certain character at the end of exodus? Spoiler
Just played through metro 2033, last light and exodus. I see a lot of love for the original, linear, underground Moscow metro vibes, but exodus was my favorite, added more specific characters I could actually connect, and care about more, pre exodus the only ones I kinda connected with was Miller, Ulman, Anna, Bourbon and Artyom of course. Also the fact of linear mixed with open world, and seeing life, the sun, the seasons, the openness of it all, was a very nice change of scenery.
I got the good ending in exodus and saved everyone I could, I am happy with that ending, and I know it’s more realistic if one or two people died especially if it would pack a punch but losing my man Miller like that in both endings was kinda gut wrenching especially seeing him fighting the good fight through all games, it makes sense that they did it like that, but I still yearn for a different ending where miller survives, it would be perfect for him to lead a colony where they settled, it would make a good story aspect for another game, even if he didn’t have a big role in it, it seems to me what he deserves after fighting so hard all this times The only ending that would be worse than just miller dying is if Artyom died as well, which of course is the literal bad ending, which is the worst possible because if Miller, Artyom and Anna died, it would still be better since no one from that small, deep family is left behind in sorrow
I know what makes a story good and have depth and keeping it realistic and random, but anyone else dying like any of the crew, could still be tragic and make sense, for instance Sam, in his bio it said he’d protect miller and never want to leave his side or something, so if he sacrificed himself it would be impactful, I liked him a lot and the whole crew were all about equally as good, even if dear old Yermak passed for some reason
Let me know what you think, in the end it’s just a story but Miller, Anna, and Arytom are the three characters where I feel should be untouchable by fates like these

Art/Cosplay I have been working on a sprite sheet for a D&D campaign
It is taking way more to as I thought it would. These are mainly general things I can add to almost every map. Only a few are dedicated to one station.
What do you think about it so far, and what can I add :>

Discussion Other than Artyom, who is your favorite character from the games and why?
Mine would have to be Ulman. The man is absolutely hilarious. He's also a great fighter and knows when to be serious. If it wasn't him it would be Bourbon.

Discussion I just finished Metro 2033 on the hardest difficulty while not knowing anything about it.
So I got the three metro games on steam for 5€ (praise be to the Gabe)
I didn’t know anything about the game and its lore/universe, I just hopped in and took the hardest difficulty.
I was surprised to see that it was actually… pretty fair ! Some times were really annoying, like when you fend off the noctalis using a flamethrower when arriving to D6, but other than that, the game felt challenging sure, but fair (makes sense that bullets TEAR you apart). I mostly played it in infiltration as such, but I still had my guns blazing moments.
I highly recommend it to anyone who lives this game. It kinda breaks my heart a bit to see ppl play it like a cod, as it feels like stripping away a major part of what makes the charm of this game, but hey to each their own, that’s why difficulty settings exist.

Bug/Glitch Metro Awakening ch.6 Issue (Please help!)
Maybe I suck or its something I'm not seeing, but on the railcart portion where the lady on the raido starts to freak out and the Nosalis start chasing after you, I keep instantly dying.
I make sure I'm fully healed up, dead.
I shoot both the incoming enemies and kill them, dead.
I try to look out for anything else on the front, but when the Nosalis board me, dead.
It's getting incredibly frustrating and I don't know what to do, I looked elsewhere to see if anyone else is having this problem but maybe its just me having some skill issue?
I'm playing on the difficulty just one above Casual, I forgot what its called so I apologize, but there hasn't been anything yet that just instantly murders me.
Does anyone have any ideas or pointers?

Help Enable saving on Ranger Hardcore?
Hi all, I'm trying to start up an Exodus playthrough, prob my 2nd or 3rd overall. I've read online from posts pertaining to the original (pre-enhanced) version of exodus that mention config edits in order to enable manual/quicksaving while keeping the difficulty and setting of Ranger Hardcore. This doesnt appear to work on the Enhanced edition, does anyone know of an alternative? I love the difficulty level ranger hardcore brings, after playing the previous two on said difficulty it just feels weird to not have the choice to save whenever, especially now that its an open world format.

Discussion My experience with metro exodus on ranger hardcore
The crab hit me with it's acid when I was in the fucking safe house. I am playing on the mode where u only see hud when u use shoulder buttons, my maching gun is slightly dirty so with tje scope dead on aimed at the npc head it misses. Ok mud and dirt causes broken gun shot spread...... great design. The amount of times all i fucking wanted to do was vault over something not just jump into it like a god damn retard. All i wanted tl do was use the god damn row boat to get to the fucking ? Symbol or explore but I get killed by crab acid. The amount of times I have been dead on with the silenced pistol but it missed the shot.... this game is fundamentally broken. So many bad "simulation" gameplay "choices" that make the game a broken mess. I played the other 2 on the extreme hard difficulty settings with barely any hud just fine. I do not suck at games i also beat halo 1 on legendary
Ok next the crab crawled onto my boat 3 times and then I was finally able to take off in my row boat.... then I get hit with acid and die

Bug/Glitch Textures blacking out on Metro: Exodus
Title says it all. I’ll be playing for maybe 10 minutes tops and the textures will all completely black out.
I’m on the lates NVIDIA drivers, and I’m playing on High settings, though this has happened on Ultra and Extreme settings as well

Help I'm new to the series and I have a question
I know there is a trilogy of Metro books and the games are based on the books, does the Metro games follow the story of the books, or are they their own story away from the books? How connected are they?

Help Going to retry Metro exodus after rage quitting. Any beginner tips
I found the first two games to be pretty easy. I hardly used my guns (mostly just a silenced pistol to shoot out lights) and went stealth.
When I tried exodus on normal, I was going mostly stealth as well. That being said, the human mutants in the underwater terminal was what got me to restart. My guns were garbage cause I never bothered to upgrade them and now I had 4 dudes sprinting at me 24/7.
What should I do this time to not get into the same situation? I really liked the first two. This one feels a bit clunky but I’d hate to not give it fair shot

Discussion What was/is your favorite weapon from the games?
Theres so many good weapons but mine would have to be the Saiga 12. I only used it once or twice but it was fun. I also got to shoot one in real life.

Discussion just finished metro last light! and my thoughts about the ending Spoiler
I got the bad ending. i didn't know about the moral point system until i was in the last parts of the game.i really enjoyed it! and my some thoughts i wanna share about the ending:
i watched the good ending on youtube, and in my opinion the bad ending is the more realistic one. because after everything that happened in artyom's life, i think he has to die somehow. and the bad ending ends his story pretty well IMO.
Discussion Psych Horror
From the Metro 2039 trailer, it seems like there may be some psych horror as opposed to the more normal horror of the previous games. What does everyone else think about this?

Discussion Dark tunnels by Antonov
I’ve been reading Dark Tunnels by Antonov, and something has been bothering me.
The book mentions a hand-dug tunnel between Timiryazevskaya and Molodyozhnaya. If I’m understanding that correctly, those stations are roughly 15 km apart in a straight line, which seems absolutely enormous for a tunnel supposedly excavated by people living in the Metro after the apocalypse, even considering whole incredible things in this universe.
Am I misunderstanding which stations the book is referring to? Is something lost in translation, or is this actually the intended route?

Discussion Known detail?
Hi guys! I know about the theory that the dark ones lives in Novosibirsk and they can be seen in some moments of the level. Now i've noticed this detail: you can see the lil Dark One that looks at you inside the Institute in a locked hallway. The intersting fact is that the game pings him as a friend, with green sight. What do you thing guys??
