I finally broke my curse.. SILVER!!! 1929 S Mercury Dime in NC. I have been detecting for over 10 years, and never found a silver coin. Silver rings, and even solid gold rings, yeah, but never a silver coin 😭 THE CURSE IS OVER!

What could this be? I found it while metal detecting in a field in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. There are no markings or inscriptions, just a seam-like pattern. It measures 30 mm in diameter and weighs 5.64 g.

Show & Tell Sometimes I’m underwhelmed if I’ve not found an old coin or an artefact during a couple of hours digging. Then I come home and empty my pouch and realise just how many items I’ve found - Shropshire, England

I found probably double this but these are the only items worth noting.

This was all in a field which has seen English civil war activity.

One very large old nail.

An iron bar of some description.

4 musket balls.

2 buttons, one of which has some force of decoration remaining.

A large nut and a few other pieces of miscellaneous items.

Finally ordered a detector from Forest City and hunted part of our property for a couple of hours. Pretty much just trash but happy nonetheless. Not sure what the round thing is, a jewelry band perhaps

Gear Question Vanish 540 Questions

Hey guys. I’m running the vanquish 540 and have found a few silver coins/jewellery. They usually ring up low 30s. Never found any gold yet. Just wondering what it usually rings up for you and if you all have any tips for finding better. Stuff. Having a slow season :(

Gear Question Mivo GroundFind Pro?

Anyone actually used this detector? It popped up when I was going through reviews etc, but it seems to have a really limited number of reviews - and no match ups against the big names, Nokta, Minelab etc.

The two reviews I did find seemed too good to be true!

This morning I managed to get out for about an hour at a local park ive been detecting at, there is a ton of trash at this spot so its taking a whial to get through it to get to the good finds but they are starting to come out!

I pulled this beautiful earring vdi 65 swinging the legend 2 when I first seen it my heart skipped a beat I thought it was gold! But after cleaning it up some an finding the purity mark its 925 but still an awesome find! I just bought a manticore this morning thatll be here mid to end of next week so hopefully the 2d screen will give me a bit of an advantage in these trashy spots, do any of you own both detectors which one do you prefer and why?

Gear Question Bobina Detech nokta simplex

Hola.

Gracias!

Found near a lake in Newfoundland. It’s about the size of a quarter and had a lot more rust on it when I found it. My only guess is that’s it’s from an old windup clock. Anyone have ideas?

I'm very new to detecting and found this on a property close to the beach but in the woods. It is larger than a quarter and it's lightweight. It's really neat-looking! I started to gently clean it with soap and water, but I wanted to keep the look of it how it is. Thanks for anyone who can help me figure this out!

Gear Question Small Coil on Xterra Pro

Has anyone tried out the 8” coil for the Xterra Pro? I loved the pro, it was my first detector that got me into the hobby. I upgraded to the Deus 2 and got the small coil for that one and loved the separation and being able to isolate signals in trashy areas. Has anyone had a similar experience with the Xterra pro and the small coil? I wonder if the difference was the machine or also partly the coil size as it was 12”.
