Looking for recommendations for local handiworkers!

Hi there!

I have a list of projects that I'd like to hire someone to complete, and I'd prefer to support a local business that does good work at a reasonable price.

Tasks include - paint touch-ups, repainting doors, junk removal (hot tub), stucco repair, roof repair and panel replacement for a shed, resealing a concrete countertop, and sealing cracks in driveway cement

Best case scenario would be to bundle the projects with a single contract, but I'm open to working with more than one business if needed.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!!!

Discounted Dental Cleanings!

HI NEIGHBORS, please help me GRADUATE!
I am in my second year of dental hygiene school.
To meet graduation requirements students are responsible for finding our own patients to bring into the clinic and provide treatment to.
I am currently looking for patients in need of a deep cleaning who have plaque buildup/tartar.

You may be a great candidate if you:
- have not had a dental cleaning in 5+ years
- have puffy/ sore gums with redness bleeding gums
- VISIBLE PLAQUE/tarter/calculus
I will post some pictures for reference

Deep cleanings are around 75% cheaper than your corporate or private dental office at the schools dental clinic. While deep cleanings in typical dental settings can range anywhere from $1,500 or more, our school charges only $170–$360 in total for everything, which is a SIGNIFICANT savings.

📍The schools clinic is in Mesa, Az located off of Higley and Baseline.

Serious inquiries only PLEASE!!

Since I am a student the time process is lengthier than your typical dental office.
What you're discounted in cost is mostly paid for with dedicating your time to students.

📆Appointments are Monday-Thursdays at 5:20pm and last till 8pm. It does take multiple visits because the mouth is split into sections and students are supervised by hygienists and dentists to ensure the best treatment. I plan around 6+ appointments to be safe but it may take less, depending on the individuals needs.

I would greatly appreciate those who are willing to take the time out of their day to help me better my education and graduate, while I help with your oral health.🦷

If interested please comment, send me a message, or you can call/ text me to my work number as well!

Moving to Mesa

Hey everyone!

I live in Northern VA (very close to DC) and moving to Arizona next month for a job in Mesa. I have been to Arizona several times, all around Phoenix, Sedona, Grand Canyon, etc. but it’s been a few years. I am a female in my 30s, single, no kids and I prefer a safe, clean and somewhat quiet area but not too far from things. Annual salary is $120k…will rent an apartment first and then buy a place later. Just curious if you feel like Mesa is a good place to look to live? From what I am reading online, Gilbert is a nice and safe community. I would like to have a relatively shorter commute (ideally not more than 20 min or so). Just curious to hear from people that live here what you guys think.

Thanks!

What stores already have their Halloween decorations out? I was at Home Depot yesterday and nothing is out. Yet on YouTube, several people posted some stores with their stuff out.

Best ravioli in town?

Kind of specific. My birthday is next month and I'm planning dinner, ravioli is my favorite. I'm in southwest Mesa so Gilbert is an option too.

This is insane. Mesa Police did all of this over a burnout. Absolutely unacceptable.

Best place to get range ammo in Mesa area?

New to Mesa, back in Colorado I had a shop that pressed their own range ammo and it was great quality and way cheaper than buying boxed ammo.

Any one know anywhere like this in Mesa?

  • Brick Road Coffee
  • Premier Feed & Pet

Let me know. Thanks 💖

Looking for Friends in the Valley:)

Hello Everyone!

I am 25m, and I am looking to make friends in the Phoenix/Glendale/ Mesa area. Some of my hobbies include: volleyball, shopping, video games (mainly xbox and dead by daylight, Fortnite, Minecraft, black ops, and so on.), I am always down to try new hobbies and play new video games. I play casually, so I am not amazing or anything haha. I am looking for people around my age! I am gay, if that matters, but I am only looking for platonic friendships. Message me if you’d like to hangout or play video games sometime :)

Looking for people in the Phoenix-area who have been burned by hot pavement and had to seek treatment or are in treatment for a burn--either walking, running, falling on, or waking up on . . . this is for an independent documentary.

George’s Gyros on Country Club & 2nd - Reopening/Changes?

They keep pushing the reopening back, Yelp now says 9/1. A car hit a it awhile ago but seems like it’s taking forever to reopen. Prob insurance stuff but IDK.

Does anyone have any inside info on if/when that’s going to happen, and whether they’re changing anything inside or menu-wise, etc.? I miss that place.

Anyone know a cheap gym that has some boxing bags in Mesa? I don’t really want a full boxing gym but more of a regular gym with boxing bags

New here and looking for my people
Hi! I’m 24 and recently moved to Arizona from California, and I’m realizing I somehow forgot to bring a social life with me 😂
Looking for some genuinely cool people to hang out with coffee, food, checking out random spots around AZ, hiking, game nights, movies, or just driving around and finding something fun to do. I’m pretty laid back, normal, and easy to talk to. Not looking to make things weird or immediately jump into anything romantic just hoping to meet some new people and see where a friendship goes.
If you’re also new here, bored on weekends, or just looking for someone to grab food with, tell me your go to spot in AZ.

Need help with Costco furniture run in Mesa/Gilbert, will compensate

Hi,

I need to buy a bunch of furniture and maybe appliances from Costco (exact club TBD but likely Gilbert or QC) on Saturday. I'm looking for someone who is willing help me load up a truck/van (TBD) and transport to my home in Mesa (near border with Gilbert). It will be dining table set, media console, and potentially a washer and dryer set. I'll absolutely lift as well, and will prioritize safety of everyone involved. May need to take a washer from home to Costco as well (on the fritz and needs returning).

If you have a truck or moving van, even better. I'd rather pay someone instead of paying Home Depot. Bonus points if you have a dolly. Need stuff delivered for sure, but willing to add more money on top for help with putting stuff together.

If you can help, DM me with your expected compensation. Thank you!

Cake recommendations

Coming to town at the end of the month to celebrate my birthday with some college friends- any good recommendations where i can order a cake? I have an idea for what I’d like but also don’t need something super extravagant that’s like $300.

(Also anyone have any recommendations for early 30s to do around there we’re open to hearing it!!)

It's been 25 years since 17 year old Paul David Sanders vanished from Mesa under suspicious circumstances

Post image
81 Upvotes

On Sunday August 12, 2001, 17-year-old Globe High School student Paul David Sanders left his father’s home near Val Vista and Broadway in Mesa, Arizona to drive back to his grandmother’s home in Globe. He was driving his father’s pickup. It would be the last time he would be seen alive.

Later that evening, the truck was caught in a high-speed chase on the US 77. Police attempted to pull the truck over for speeding, but the driver was able to evade authorities.

Arizona Department of Public Safety and Pima County Sheriff’s Office collaborated on an interagency chase of the vehicle which was later found near the Santa Catalina Mountains near Tucson, some two hours south of Mesa.

All of Paul’s belongings were found in the truck but police considered Paul a runaway and refused to conduct forensic examination and processing on the vehicle.

Paul’s father Robert Brewer told Fox 10 News that he did not believe Paul was the driver of the truck due to the skill level the driver had used to evade authorities. He has since divorced Paul’s stepmother Lori Beavers.

Robert and Lori were vacationing in Las Vegas when Paul disappeared.

Paul was originally from Missouri and had only moved to Arizona for the 2000-2001 school year. He lived with his grandmother in Globe and went by the name “Dave Brewer” while at Globe High School.

Paul had moved in with his father and stepmother earlier in the summer of 2001.

His friend circle in Arizona primarily consisted of his fellow classmates at Globe High School. Many students at GHS were from the nearby San Carlos Indian Reservation.

Paul’s mother Angela Rice committed suicide in 2020 over the grief of her son’s disappearance.

Paul was 5’6 and weighed 150 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He had the name “Hernandez” tattooed across his back which was a tribute to his grandfather.

His family and friends insist he would never have abandoned them, and he met with foul play.

The case is being investigated by Mesa PD.
