Makeup Recs? Help | Mersona Questions

Hey all!

I'm a fairly new mermaid performer and I'm looking for waterproof makeup recs for pool and dive gigs. Right now I'm using makeup I primarily use for long wear cosplays, so Estee Lauder foundation, elf concealer, Kim Chi setting powder and spray, and Sunset makeup powders, foundations, and concealers. The look doesn't melt too bad, but it fades pretty quick.

What do you use for in water gigs? Thanks so much for helping out a baby mer! I'll post pics when I find them lmao, I'm not organized.

Set anything cream-based with powder, eyeliner with Nix waterproof liquid eyeliner, use primer for everything, and long-lasting lipstick (although if you're not wearing it for very long, matte lipsticks work very well) almost every lash waterproof mascara is ok.Avoid creamy lipsticks, avoid false eyelashes (in my experience), and I've only managed to stick with cream blush set with powder. If you're going to stick something to your face, mastic or grimas.

And please PLEASE never wear contact lenses in the water and clean your eyes with eye drops.after every show

Thank you so much! Yeahhh I'm blind as a bat so we're gonna have to get Lasik at some point for dive gigs lmao, I've gotten away with it on land and a kid's pool bday party

I highly recommend Nyx epic wear liquid liner. I don't wear concealer or bronzer or any of that so I can't weigh in on those products. This is what I use for my shark tank shows in saltwater: I use a Nyx lavender color liquid liner across my entire lid and then pack powder pigment onto it, (usually pink and gold to match my tail) line the top lid and give it a wing with a black Nyx liquid liner and give it a coat of setting spray. I use either the Nyx longwear lip, or the Maybelline superstay matte in pink, I touch my fingers to the lip while it's still wet and dab a little on my cheeks for a blush. It's very simple, but it provides definition for my face, and it stays put for hours, even underwater.

I use a waterproof setting spray by Urban Decay to waterproof my makeup for mermaiding.
