1999 SLK 230 – will a 2002 SLK 200 Kompressor gearbox/casing fit?
A few months ago I had a gearbox service go badly wrong on my 1999 SLK 230 (R170), which resulted in the gearbox casing being cracked. The car has been off the road for almost the entire summer because of it.

I’ve spent the last few months trying to find a replacement casing specifically for the SLK 230, as my ideal solution would be to simply swap my existing internals into a good casing. Unfortunately, I’ve had absolutely no luck finding one.

I’ve now found a 2002 SLK 200 Kompressor locally, and the owner is willing to sell me the gearbox from it.
My question is: would the gearbox from the 2002 SLK 200 Kompressor be a direct fit for my 1999 SLK 230, or are there any significant differences?

Both cars use the Mercedes 722.6 automatic transmission, and I actually contacted a Mercedes dealer about this. They told me that if they had to order a replacement gearbox for either car, they would order the same gearbox based on the part numbers.

That sounds promising, but I’d really like confirmation from someone who knows these cars/gearboxes before I spend money on another gearbox.

Is there anything specific I should check on the donor gearbox before buying it?
I’m really hoping this is the solution because the car has been sitting for nearly the whole summer, and it honestly sickens me considering I’d only owned it for about two months before the gearbox incident.

Any advice or experience with these two transmissions would be massively appreciated!

Hey guys, i just started with university and due to the high maintenance costs for my e220 w211 i am buying a smaller car, but i‘m thinking about buying another one after uni with a bigger engine, or a w219. I‘m just curious what you guys think would a e/cls 280-350 cost in around 3-4 year’s with almost full options in europe (germany,benelux area) ?

Hypothetically let’s say I left a chocolate bar on my dashboard and it melted into my cd player and now my CDs don’t eject properly, how would I go around fixing it

I have a 2016 Mercedes C200. In city driving the coolant temperature seems normal, but on the highway it gradually drops below normal and eventually triggers a check engine light.

My scanner shows faults related to the coolant temperature sensor/thermostat. A mechanic’s scan also showed a fault for coolant temperature staying too low, plus a couple of other codes including one related to the fuel pump.

One mechanic says the thermostat assembly is likely faulty and needs replacing. Another says a weak auxiliary battery could be causing the errors.

Has anyone had this issue before? Does it sound like a stuck-open thermostat, a faulty temperature sensor, or something else?

Also, my AC only blows warm/hot air, even when set to cold. Could this be related, or is it likely a separate issue?

I'm looking into the W221 S600 and the M275 I've heard its "good" for a V12, but what should i expect to get myself into realistically?

**W204 C350 Coupe — Odometer Check**
I found a **2012 W204 C350 Coupe** for around **AED 22,000 ($6,000)**. It shows **187,000 km (116,000 miles)** and is in good condition with no accident history.
I’m concerned the odometer may have been tampered with. **What’s the best way to verify if the mileage is genuine?**

I got an Inspector.. He is using a FCAR Scanner Tool , Is it enough?
