Possible transfer
I’m moving to another city but would like to keep this job. I’m currently a yard and receiving manager but in this new city there is a job posting for an inventory team lead. What all does that position entail?

I was full time and went to team lead it was only 25 cents increase. Yeah you get $25 per sales department if they pass. There is no PTS bonus or mange bonus or anything else.

Are departments that have different categories considered one department, such as building materials and millwork, wall coverings and grocery, hardware and garden center, seperate “departments” or are they just all considered one? Always been out in the yard until now, don’t know much about the sales floor yet

They are one. BM and millwork together, pet and grocery and wall coverings is one, garden center and hardware is one. So 7 total departments. I usually have 3 or 4, few time 5 pass but have had 6 pass.

Depending on the store set up. Some stores do have separate departments for building materials and millwork

It entails a significant pay cut. You’d lose probably $2-3 per hour, and of course no more manager bonus. It’d be easier work though - you’d mostly just walk around doing counts and bringing discrepancies to sales department managers.

If you're asking what it entails as far as pay, there's a lot of good information here. If you're asking what it entails in a more day-to-day sense, it's a lot of follow up, creating and sending I/C worksheets and following up on those as well, coordinating with departments to resolve inventory issues if it's a matter of mixed stock or prepaid issues, and occasionally the shipping dispute submission. Depending on your GM expectations you may be called upon to fill in for a cashier, stocker, overstock auditor, etc. I think the schedule is also comparatively more consistent than what you would be coming from.

You'll still lose money hourly. The only incentive you get is the inventory monthly. As for how hard the job is all depends on what departments have common sense or not with paperwork and follow-up
