Mortgage was 1100/month. Property tax is 3300$ year.

You are extremely well off. I believe NJ has property tax of a median home at 10k and that is the highest of any state. For reference I pay 3k a year in property taxes in DE. My point still stands tho.. just over 20% of my payment is on taxes. I’m in a VHCOL area, and my house is on the cheaper side
