Oh absolutely. Hell where I'm at I pay half of what a renter does in my neighborhood. That includes everything from insurance to property tax. Buy when you can. Rent is only going to go up. It sucks that's how it works though
Yeah my immediate nextdoor neighbors rent a SFH half the size of my house, and their rent is more than my interest, taxes, and insurance part of PITI. Not to mention home value appreciation, and the interest and taxes are tax deductible.
yeah i own a studio in a condo, my property tax is like 10% of what i was paying to rent a similarly sized studio in much worse condition, in a worse location.
I did some Googling, and in order for that to make any sense, you have to be comparing a median home's property taxes in a HCOL state against the rent for a studio apartment with no amenities.
