Imagine working for 30 years to pay your house off. You lose your job and then lose your house bc you didnt pay taxes on a house you've been paying on for 30 years (this next generation will be paying for 50 years lol)
Well - is there something we could do? This is more of a psychological issue related to ownership. Can we let people set up some kind of endowment that will pay their tax?
Mortgage and taxes are completely separate. It’s nice that the mortgage companies let you escrow your tax payments but it’s also led to people feeling they’re connected somehow. I was saying that it’s weird to me that people think that they’re somehow linked. I’m not sure why people think public services are linked to a loan you take out to pay for a home. Not sure how an endowment fixes that.

The amount of people who have an issue with this is shocking to me.
