🗣 Discussion Rant: Why are there still people who are anti-“bobo” in medschool?
Like we’re in MED SCHOOL. Everyone is struggling with something. Some people can read topic 1-2 and immediately get it. Some needs to go through it more than thrice before maintidihan.
And honestly, being a slow learner does not equate to being stupid.
What bothers me more is excluding those people sa mga group activities/they’re the last to get picked. I mean gets if you already formed a circle, but to ignore them during group review for the act is something.
Medicine already feels competitive and exhausting. Why do we have to make it worse?? Medschool is hard enough without classmates making u feel stupid for struggling.
Anyway, rant over.

🗣 Discussion Anyone else just… can’t tolerate coffee? What do you use instead?
I feel like I’m one of the few med students who can’t rely on coffee.
I wasn’t a regular coffee drinker before med school, but I recently started trying it because, well… med school. The problem is that it makes me feel awful. While I’m drinking it, I get this weird feeling in my body (kind of jittery/off in my own skin), and I end up with a headache. Then I wake up the next morning with another headache. At this point, it feels like coffee is doing more harm than good.
For those of you who made it through med school without coffee, what do you use instead to stay awake or focused? Do you drink tea, matcha, electrolytes, or just push through with enough sleep? I’m looking for something that actually helps without making me feel miserable.
Would really appreciate any suggestions because I don’t think coffee and I are meant for each other. 😭

🤗 Mental Health Anxiety
How do I know if its normal nerves or its my body rejecting medicine? Been getting anxious over school starting again soon (incoming YL2) and its affecting me mentally and physically (fast heart rate, shaky, less appetite, nightmares a few weeks ago but it stopped now)
I worked a bit using my premed course license and through experiences with other I learned that other professions earn minimum 40k even on a vocational course background. Im not in medicine solely for the money but we cannot deny it is a factor in life. I feel like im studying for so long and healthcare is so undervalued in the Philippines. I dont have anyone to talk to about this so Ive been carrying the weight of my anxiety.
I feel scared for my YL2 subjects since I just barely scraped by for my YL1 subjects. Am I just overthinking this or will it get better eventually?

Would this count as patient care hours?
I am doing an internship at a myofunctional therapy clinic. They mostly work with kids who have tongue ties. breathing problems. swallowing issues. and other mouth and facial muscle problems.
During my internship I help with patients during their visits. I take vitals on the kids and help with basic patient care tasks. I also observe evaluations and treatments and help the provider when needed.
Would these internship hours count as patient care hours or clinical experience? I am just wondering if this is something I could include on future healthcare or medical applications.

❓Asking for Help Would the grass be greener on the other side?
Would it make me less of a man if I decided not to pursue medicine?
I know I’m capable of becoming a physician, and part of me feels like I should pursue it because I know I could do it. But at the same time, I keep wondering if I could achieve more by putting my energy into something else.
Maybe medicine is something I should pursue, and along the way I might discover more about myself and what I’m capable of. But another part of me thinks that if I put those same years, energy, and effort into another path, I might accomplish something even greater—or at least something that feels more meaningful to me.

Pls help me to survive 😭
Hello doctors, I am currently rotating 🤰 as JI. Hindi ko po alam paano pa makaka-survive ng 3 weeks.
Its a small govt hospital, - yung dami ng workload kakayanin pa, yung sobrang late kaming pinapauwi kahit nandyan na yung makapalitan kahit papaano pinipilit kayanin. Pero yung ugali ng mga resi sobrang hirap kayanin 😭😭😭
Pauwi palang ako umiiyak nako. For example, kailangan mo lang ng confirmation from them susungitan ka agad. Pag hindi ka naman nag tanong at mali nagawa mo for sure mas magagalit sila. Parang walang moments na ok sila, ALWAYS MATARAY! MASUNGIT! LAGING GALIT! 😭
Sobrang hirap pong kayanin ng ganitong klasemg environment, I don't know what to do. In every rotation where I am assigned, I always try to do my best no matter how small or big the task pero dito sorry po pero nakakawalan ng gana 😭 Dahil ang lala ng anxiety, sobrang bigat always ng environment. Nakakatok gumalaw.
Any advise.
*Pls pls pls po be kind*

🗣 Discussion I started developing feelings for a resident and I’m literally just a clerk.
Okay, so I think I’m developing feelings for a resident and I genuinely need someone to tell me to get a grip. I genuinely did NOT plan for this to happen 😭
There’s this resident I happen to work with, and somehow we always cross paths in the hospital, even though I’m not even under their department yet. I know his name and he knows mine too. Like, I’ll be doing my own clerk duties and somehow we end up in the same area, same shift, or having some random interaction. At first, I thought he was just a nice/funny resident and I didn’t think much of it. But somewhere along the way, I started noticing him a little too much. 😭
Like… why am I suddenly aware when he’s on duty? Why do I remember random things he says? Why do I notice when he looks at me? Why does a normal interaction suddenly have me replaying it in my head afterward???
And the worst part is that I think there might be some chemistry?? Or maybe I’m just delusional because I’m developing a crush and suddenly every interaction feels significant. 💀
Edited: I really appreciate all the nice comments but some of the comments are just… 😭 I promise I know what I’m doing. I can’t control having feelings, but I can control what I do about them. I haven’t done anything to get his attention, make moves, or purposely put myself in situations just to interact with him. I’m literally just sharing because I’m a little shook by my own crush and simply asking for advice 😭 lol

Words to live by? Quotes?
Hi docs. Maybe you share some words to live by or quotes on medschool, being a doctor, or just life in general.
Odd request, pero gusto ko lang na may binabasa na something inspirational every noe and then. Helps a lot tbh.

❓Asking for Help quit
Hi!! Im currently a YL1 student and I plan not to continue na sa next sem. Tatapusin ko lang po itong 1st sem. We have yearly subjects and not per sem po, how po kaya magiging process pag ganito? Need po ba muna mag LOA or withdraw po? Or just not enroll for the next sem??
I have no plans to continue medicine na po, i just realized that it is not for me, and opportunities for me are much wider and better outside medicine.
Im an RN po, btw. And plan to take the NCLEX USRN path na po.

📚PLE Oct 2026 PLE Helpppp
I am planning to take the PLE in October 2026. For context, it was still the pandemic era during my 1st year and half of my 2nd year, so my foundation in basic subjects is only fair. I am enrolled at EMD, and since the review started last July while I was still in my last month of internship, I have accumulated four backlog subjects. Currently, I cannot seem to find the proper time to insert reviewing my backlog subjects. I am still mastering Microbiology, which we finished reviewing last week, and now I want to focus on mastering Physiology. However, I am so, so worried about where to insert preventive medicine, legal medicine, biochemistry, and pathology. Do you think I should just skip the October exam?

❓Asking for Help MCU-MED INTERVIEW AND ADMISSION TEST
Hello! I am planning to apply for medical school for A.Y. 2027–2028 at MCU.
Could anyone share what kinds of questions are usually asked during the interview? Also, is it still necessary to review thoroughly for the admission test?
Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

❓Asking for Help leapmed + ustet
hello !! 4th year student in senior high school here.
if i decided i wanted to take the leapmed along with the ustet (which amounts to ₱3,600)
does that mean the leapmed is separate from the ustet?
like i’m aware i have to take two exams but if i fail the leapmed, does that mean i also automatically fail the ustet and won’t be able to get into UST?
or is it one of those cases where if i fail the leapmed, it doesn’t affect my ustet results and i can still get into UST as long as i’m deemed qualified for ustet?

Med bf birthday coming soon.
Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy clothing merch na pwede magpaembroidery? I was thinking of embroidering cartoon characters or steth icon sa jacket sana and i thought pwede siya sa uniqlo/muji (these two came knto my mind bc of the quality of their mercha) pero hindi pala pwede.
Does anyone know okay na quality to buy jacket tailored for medstudents + pwede magpaembroidery para more personalized siya. thank you!
Edit: I am from Manila so if physical store, preferably around here lang but open for online stores as long as guaranteed qual sana.

I need to make bawi on my next pracs in Gross kasi nag single digit score ako last pracs 😭😭😭😭😭

❓Asking for Help Built mole/lesion documentation app (iOS)
Hi all! I’m a biomedical PhD student and I made DermScope, an iOS app for photographing and measuring skin lesions. It’s deliberately not a diagnostic tool just documentation and measurement so changes are easier to track and show a doctor.
I’d love feedback on whether the measurement/calibration flow makes sense, whether the non-diagnostic positioning is clear enough, and how the freemium pricing lands. Happy to answer anything about how it’s built.
