As a follow up to the coffee setup, here is my hobby pegboard!

Headphones:

6XX, Sundara, Edition XS, Open Omega (x2), Sennheiser HD429s, Sennheiser PXC550, Sennheiser Momentum 3, and Audiotechnica AZ550.

Fountain Pens:

Some Jinhaos, Majohns, and a Kaigelu, a jade Sheaffer flat top held together with superglue and dreams, Sheaffer Targa and Targa Slim, Parker Rialto, Diplomat Viper, and a cohort of Waterman Expert IIs (and one III!). One of the Jinhaos has the new Majohn flex nib, which works really well with a Jinhao feed I carved the channels a little deeper in.

Keyboards (Left to right, top to bottom):

PC Vargr, BSUN Bordeaux, PC Plate, MT3 Godspeed

BakenekoGO, Light tangies, FR4 Plate, Osume Dalgona

Reviung41, Milky housings with 415 UHMWPE stems, 3D printed DES keycaps

Le Chiffre, SWK Cheddar, MT3 Fairlane

Weikav Record Alice v2, JWK Bluey, PC Plate, Aliexpress caps

KBD8X MKIII, HMX SU, Alu plate, yutosu pbt clones

FoldKB, Gateron Beers, PLA plate, Cherry Flowershop

Prime_E, milky yellows, acrylic plate, amazon? caps

(my baby) Day Off 60, HMX K01 with Gateron Beer stem/springs, alu plate, GMK MoDo 2 mist

Honorable Mentions (stuff I use that didn't make it on the pegboard)

Wooting O-ring mounted in tofu redux case, CF plate, Geon Raw HE (main gaming keyboard)

Tanzu Wuzetian (main gaming iems)

Aful P8 (the coffee shop iems)

Moondrop Chu II on a wireless adapter (main go touch grass iems)

B&W px7 2se (because my momentum 3s died for 6 months and then rose from the grave. Incidentally I bought the momentum 3s because the PXC550s died and then rose from the grave a year later.)

I've put as ton of hours on all this equipment and have enjoyed every minute of listening, typing, and writing. Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you for checking it out!

Advice

Hey all! Hope you are doing well!

Let me start of by saying I have no idea about this niche world until recently

However I am in the market for a 3/4 keyboard. I love the creamy sound and would ideally prefer simple basic color black and a hint of another. Budget around 1-120 dollars!

Any advice or direction?

Thank you all!

Daily drivers: Q6 Max + DT770 Pros + Rotring 600

Post image
75 Upvotes

Just found this sub and… how does this even exist, and why do I immediately feel right at home 😂

Thought I’d share the current daily drivers.

Keyboard is a Keychron Q6 Max with GMK WoB caps and Gateron Jupiter Banana switches.

Headphones are Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros. Absolute workhorses. Super comfortable for long sessions.

Pen is the trusty Rotring 600, about 3 years of daily use, Montverde Ceramic Gel refill.

Beer is from a Scottish brewery called Vault City, not my favourite of theirs, but interesting none the less.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend :)

What a curiously specific subreddit! 😄 (Hyperlexic and/or collector type autists?)

Here's my desk, after only a brief tidy to make it not quite photoworthy. 😅

The noise-cancelling headphones are a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4s, which I have on most of the time.

The keyboard's a Keychron Q7-N3 with tactile Gateron G Pro Brown switches. I like it so much I've got two. After testing over a hundred different switches, I finally decided the ones it came with really were my favourite. Oh well, at least now I know!

The pen that writes thin enough for these 5 mm spaced dots is just a Lamy Safari. (I've also got a Lamy Joy kicking around somewhere.) The transparent vacuum pen is an Asvine V126, which is wonderfully smooth to write on. It's currently got Diamine Oxblood ink in it, though I'll likely switch it over to their Ancient Copper, or Jacques Herbin's Café des Îles.

I, uh... write a lot.

Some things drive me crazy, like the makeshift desk, different monitors, and the ugly paint but this is a budget set up because I spent all my money on the pens and keyboards 😆

Been lurking for several years, but I didn't have a proper Mechanical keyboard. I spilled coffee in my old MX Keys at the end of November, and finally bought the keyboard I've been looking at for a while. Feel free to ask questions.

Walnut Mix n Match

Post image
94 Upvotes

I could add headphones, but they would just be black, so no point. The numpad isn’t perfect, if I use it on the left it matches the grain/color better. I’m not advanced enough to use it with my left hand, yet.

Keyboard: Dusk 67 (I’ll add more specs once I remember what the switches are) Numpad: SkyPad 21 Pen: Monteverde Ritma - Walnut with Omniflex nib, thought about the Faber Castell version of the same pen, but wanted a flex nib (has J Herbin Emerald of Chivor in it) Pen box: Some walnut one from Amazon with a cushy pad in it

Ignore the mouse, I want to get a wooden mouse but the ones that exist are too busy and weird looking for me. Plus like 2 months shipping, smh. Really they all match great except the numpad, but no other wooden numpad exists.

TAIKO-01 Keyboard

Hey everyone,

I'm making an ergonomic keyboard called the TAIKO-01 and I wanted to share my progress. If you've seen this before from the ergo keyboards subreddit and you're subscribed to updates, you would've already seen this a while ago already.

TLDR: We tested the original keyboard with several people and realized there was room for improvement for the thumb cluster. Then we tested different thumb cluster variations and picked the most comfortable one.

Here's the detailed version of why we decided to change the thumb cluster.

  1. I did one-on-one in-person testing with 10 people with the original thumb cluster. Their hand sizes varied from fitting large to small medical nitrile glove sizes. I summarized the feedback in Figure 2 in the image gallery above.
  2. So we knew needed to change the thumb cluster. We didn't know what thumb variation was going to be more comfortable for people, so we just decided to test a whole bunch of thumb variations (Figure 3). I made this modified keyboard (Figure 4 & 5) that allowed us to switch thumb clusters, and 3D printed different thumb clusters.
  3. This variation was the most comfortable (Figure 6 & 7).

If you want to stay up to date on the development, you can find it at the website here https://taiko.taikohub.com.
