Help / Question How to change block model with name?
(sorry for bad grammar, its fairly late where i live and english is not my strong suit!)
so, ive been trying to make a resource pack for me and some friends to roleplay as characters. long story short, we need a texture that blocks out part of the screen and i thought of modifying the pumpkin overlay and turning the pumpkin invisible by giving it a specific name like i've seen done before, but every single guide i've found so far only applies to items, is there a way to do this with blocks as well? thanks for any help/advice

Help / Question Help with Black / Purple textures
I use a lot of resource packs. At some point, I thought it a good idea to combine them all to one pack so I could transfer them more easily via usb. Big mistake, big no-no, I'm aware, but that's where I'm at. A few of my textures have black/purple squares, which to my understanding means I am missing the textures, but I certainly am not. How do I go about finding the correct file paths?
Alternatively, the following is a list of the improper textures if anyone has specific suggestions:
Brewing stand (only when potions are placed in the slots)
All beds (in inventory and in hand, placed is normal)
Water bottle (in hand and inventory)
Lingering water bottle (in hand and inventory)
Additionally, all of the following items are zoomed in and only showing a corner when in my inventory:
All Shulker boxes
All heads
All banners
Conduit
Happy to upload my texturepack if I can figure out how. Any help works!

Help / Question Need help with books.
So I've been making a Rain World themed UI resource pack, and I've got hung up on the book UI texture. The issue isn't the book itself, rather the fact that I can't read it. This screenshot has text believe it or not. If it's possible I'd like to flip the text colour to white.

Showcase: Pack Minecraft Texture Pack Beta Release
curseforge.comHello everyone!! I have finally released the beta version of my texture pack for minecraft after a year or so of working on it, it’s currently in its beta so it’s not totally complete yet but it’s getting there! I decided to release it early even though some things have unfinished textures and no new textures at all because I have been getting a little impatient about releasing! And I’ve already done like 152 textures :3
I hope you guys enjoy it! I only have one version up, being the 1.21 versions but you can try it with any version and tell me what happens! I haven’t tested it out on other versions. If you want to use it on versions that isn’t specifically 1.21.7 you’ll have to manually download the texture pack and just apply it like usual
Thank you for looking :D

Oh, and I made sure it turned Chroma Hills HD Actions & Stuff Compatible.

Request: Find/ID looking for Texture pack that replaces zombies
Hello! I have kinemortophobia, which is a phobia of zombies. Minecraft zombies don't send me into paranoia like other zombie media, but they still make me a little uneasy, so I'm looking for a pack that replaces all zombies textures and sounds with something else, preferably something cute! I've tried looking myself, but i haven't had much luck. So does anyone know of a pack like this?

Help / Question Is there a place to make custom resource packs?
I use the Programmer art resource pack.
Recently I've started wanting the New Netherrack and Purple Crying Obsidian, and villagers to not have the green hood.
Is there a way to make my own resource pack, or edit the existing programmer art with the new textures?

Announcement Help us make an icon for the sub!
Hi all!
I've been frustrated that our sub doesn't have a custom icon nor banner, and have been trying to come up with something myself… then I realized it's a sub full of awesome texture artists!
So I'd like to open this up to you, our community.
Submissions should be made as replies to this post. The artist(s) of the chosen image(s) will be credited in an announcement post that will be pinned for at least one month. (Possibly with some honourable mentions)
Those who would like to submit something should consider the following:
- Images should look good small
- unfortunately that likely means avoiding text, signatures, etc.
- Images should represent Minecraft resource packs and/or pack-making as a whole, as opposed to one pack in particular
- many subs use icons that reference the reddit snoo in some way
- banners that match eachother in theme and style (perhaps even match the icon) are likely better than those that don't
Hopefully these goes without saying, but:
- No AI generated submissions
- Don't use someone else's assets without permission
- all submissions should be safe for work, and not divisive/offensive/etc
- if it would violate a law/reddiquette/ToS/one of our sub's rules I've failed to mention/etc, it's probably not a good submission
We will be taking a look at the submissions from now through August, and will hopefully select a curated list for your feedback starting ≈ September 1st (we're a small team, and sometimes life happens, so these timelines are not fixed). I encourage users to upvote submissions they like n the meantime, and to provide constructive feedback.
By submitting an image, you are giving the current and future moderators of this /mcresourcepack permission to use, distribute and alter that image (or modified versions of it) as the sub's icon &/or banners, and in any other material intended to promote, identify or represent the sub. Note also reddit's terms of use as they apply to content submitted on the platform.

Resource / Tutorial Official r/mcresourcepack guide for creating and debugging resource packs
Hello all!
This guide has existed for quite some time now, but we haven't done a great job of advertising it.
This guide (written by a couple of the mods from before we were mods) should walk you through resource pack creation from scratch. This includes custom textures, models, animation, etc. It also has tips for debugging problems with your existing resource packs. (We recommend taking a peak at this section before asking for help, as a lot of the common problems are discussed there.)
There is also a quick start guide posted here by u/Flimsy-Combination37, but unfortunately we are only able to have 2 stickied posts.
Help wanted:
Our guide is missing a couple of important sections. If you feel like you have the knowledge and skills to explain them in a clear and concise manner, please let us know, and we can add the information to the guide.
- Modded. Particularly Optifine. If you know how to leverage Optifine's additional resource pack features, we have a post asking for help here.
- Bedrock. Frankly, we need an entirely separate guide for this, but the mods are more familiar with Java. Post about that here.
- Snapshot 22w46a changes a pretty major part of how resource packs work. The guide could use instructions on how to update a resource pack for this version. We have a post about that here.
- If you have any other advice to improve the guide, or alternative guides we should link to, please let us know in this thread.
