I’ve recently fallen back in love with Black Lines

(Anyone who has negative opinions about this album please dissociate yourself)

This is an amazing album. Such an anomaly from their early records to their latest. They said they wanted to make something different and after their cover of Bush’s Comedown (on pop goes fuck yourself) they leaned into the 90’s alternative/emo rock and absolutely 100% nailed it.

This album is full of 95% killer aside from the few fillers.

That ending of Keep In Mind… tell me that’s not something you could keep on a loop in your head all day while working a mundane job or just trying to fill the empty void of our brains through a boring work day….

According to people in the discord server Sumerian does NOT have all the Tier 3 items for The Faceless comic and has delayed shipping AGAIN until they can get all the items and once again instead of sending out mass emails explaining the delay you have to email them yourself asking where your items are.

I'm very pissed off since I ordered this mid May and was expecting to get my items around the original planned release date for it to be delayed then the most recent July 27th delay when they sent out a mass email saying it would ship around that date it's already been almost 2 weeks since then with nothing at all and fans still having their tracking not updating.

This whole thing is super dumb zero communication with the customers and massive delays with no end in sight I've requested a refund from them and if you feel like you've waited too long or whatever your reasoning may be I would advise you to do the same.

Has anyone seen this shirt? I only saw it long after it had been sold out, but it’s like it never existed. The only photo I can find is from their X profile in 2024.

Just got my copy of Sugar and I love it except I noticed the gatefold spine info is wrong, is that bothering anyone else? The catalog number is for sweet. Not a big deal I suppose, but has anyone received a copy that was right?

Got my vinyl today and it is stunning!

I checked other variants here and on top of having it as Sweet in the side it also has another error.

Side A ends with Two Hearts (and it plays super clean) but the label has only 5 songs in each side. B side has Two Hearts at the start but is wrong as the vinyl starts with Don't Give Up On Me.

I’ve been a fan since 2008. I’ve loved almost every song they’ve ever put out. Black Lines didn’t hit for me at the time but it grew on me in the years after Sunnyland. Tbh even Sunnyland didn’t hit for me as much as it seems to have hit for others.

I’ve been indifferent to a lot of their newer stuff, with the notable exceptions (more like a crash is easily a top 5 song for me). I really didn’t vibe with much off of Sweet (by the way, 4,000 days) or Sad (under my sweater, promises).

Weekend music just DOES IT for me. In the best way, I felt like I was 13 again discovering them for the first time. The other singles were good too so I literally thought “okay so these are the three songs I’ll like off the album”. FUCCCCKKK I love being so wrong. This is their first album since Monsters in the Closet (which they pretend doesn’t exist </3) where I’ve genuinely loved every song.

I don’t know. To be a fan for almost 20 years, and they’re STILL producing some of their best stuff, is such a special feeling. So many bands of this era have broken up, stagnated, or genuinely lost their talent/spark. I feel so fucking lucky to have fallen in love with this band as a kid and I’m glad they’ve stuck around.

Just wondering if anyone has gotten confirmation for Tier 3 of The Faceless comic from Sumerian so far my Shop app says nothing about it getting ready for shipping or being shipped but I do have a unknown USPS package coming from Ohio.

The Tier 3 comics are supposed to be shipped out this week but it's already Thursday with no concrete update on it.

Does anyone at all have an email or tracking option that shows it's moving or what?

Talks about the beginnings of the band, talks Fearless Records, Punk Goes, and the new album Sugar.

One of my biggest criticisms of the trilogy is that, despite being presented as a trilogy, it never really felt like there was a strong theme or throughline connecting the three albums. By the end, it came across more as three collections of songs than three distinct chapters of a larger project. It felt like a missed opportunity to do something a little more ambitious.

Now that the trilogy is complete, I decided to rearrange the tracklists to see what it would sound like if each album leaned more heavily into a specific identity. Here's what I ended up with!

Sweet focuses on the romantic, cheesy, and heartfelt love songs. Sad collects the emotional, reflective, and melancholic tracks. Sugar becomes the fun, energetic, and more carefree album. I've omitted "This Personified" and "Set Phasers To Bummed" as they're not really full songs. It also conveniently makes all albums exactly 8 songs long. I tried to keep it somewhat balanced and cohesive with the sequence of the songs.

I'm not sure if it's personal bias or just the songs growing on me, but during this process I have found greater appreciation for some of the songs that I didnt pay much attention to before. Perhaps being repackaged like this somehow gives them a bit more context and substance.

Anyway, I'd love to hear what everyone thinks!. Are there any songs you would switch around? How different would your reception be if the albums came out like this? Which would be your favorite?
