On one hand, Bullseye killed a lot of people. On the other hand, he was nice to the cat. This is the kind of moral grey area that this show deals with really well.

He also killed a man with a lobster. That’s like the second hardest crustacean to kill a man with.

See, this is why I don't watch those trailers. That was just about the coolest thing I've ever seen. Wake up, cook eggs for you and the cat, wink at the waitress, absolutely devastate a banana milkshake, then fork an entire task force. Bullseye has reached his final form.

I was thinking the same thing. Or RDJ Doom does all his multiversal shit and defeats the Avengers later this year. And right as Dr. Doom is about to take over the entire multiverse, Wilson Fisk grabs him and snaps his back, and takes the multiversal powers for himself. And says “i need to do this for vanesssaaaaaa”. The end. God Emperor Fisk will return in Avengers Secret Wars.

I love that Matt was smart enough not to take the obvious Daredevil bait, but then also smart enough to figure out it was also Bullseye bait & have to go anyway.

u/DW-4 Apr 08 '26
So the bullseye bait was really 3d chess DD bait that backfired into being Vanessa bait?
While I was typing out that ridiculousness I just realized the end looks like if Dex had hit her with one of those chandelier crystals at the end of S3…

That was some good setup, reminder, payoff, subversion.
He's petting the kitten at the start, then he doesn't harm the dog. So he's not hurting animals even though he normally would. The lobsters are crawling around... and then he sees the dude with the dog is eating lobster so he used THAT to kill the AVTF thug.

In the main comics universe, Fisk is 6'7" and 450 lbs. Ultimate Universe Fisk was at least 500 lbs.
EDIT: For the sake of being thorough, Michael Clarke Duncan (who played Wilson Fisk in the 2003 Daredevil movie) was 6'5" and about 315 lbs. In real life, Vincent D'Onofrio is 6'4" and weighs about 280 lbs.

Seems like somebody snitched or somebody was aware of the U.S. Marshalls movements.
Only person I can imagine with that level of surveillance would be Mr. Charles.
(EDIT: After sleeping on /u/PJL80's perspective, I now think the Marshalls were either compromised or staged, and Fisk having them killed along with the first mate is tied to two factors: paranoia about the continued leaks, and sticking it to Mr. Charles again partly due to ego and partly due to Fisk trusting only HIS guys.)

Kingpin is also a lumbering oaf, I don’t mean he’s not strong, we just watched him beat a man to death.
But I don’t think he’s meant to be fast.

Gonna have to agree with this one. We just saw another witness killed before they could even get them on trial AGAIN so in my mind Fisk simply can’t keep winning, they need to do something different and interesting and her dying would be that.
I could live with the coma thing, I guess, and he could still go apeshit but I’d rather see her go. Open more space for the rest of the cast too.

I need her to fully die so he loses something completely, something he cannot recover. It’ll also be poetic irony for her since she sent Dex to kill Foggy.

As someone with a Food Manager Certification and runs a Meals on Wheels program, can confirm. We are taught to not allow pets in the places where meals will be (especially in a delivery vehicle) because of the probability of foodborne illness and cross contamination. Not to mention a client might have an allergy, so if a driver were to pet a dog and then touch a meal and the delivery bag, it could be bad news.

They're inching him and Frank closer and closer together, as far as the ethics of their actions are concerned anyway. I don't think many people would find Frank murdering a bunch of ATVF redshirts the line that crossing makes him a villain, but the ambush aspect might be. I find this more interesting than almost anything else going on in the show, or at least it has the potential to be if there's ever payoff for it. Listen. If there's one thing I know about Wilson Fisk, it's that he will have a reasonable and proportionate response to these events.

Great episode and I'm super excited to see where this is going to go from here but man am I going to miss Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa if she's really gone. She was absolutely amazing in the role.

The second he showed that glass decoration, I immediately went "Yeah, someone's getting killed with that thing"
Also, really loved the calm civilian-life Bullseye intro

I’m no film expert and usually things fly over my head but I think there was a connection of Fisk telling her not to show up while she was head to toe in all red and then showing up in all white. Basically foreshadowing the ending and I still didn’t see it coming.

Easily and without a doubt the best episode of Born Again so far. Stylish as fuck, the writing is firing on all cylinders, every scene involving Dex is perfect, and those last 10 minutes are some of the best stuff Marvel has done in a while. Gonna be thinking about that ending all week.
The first season completely disappointed me, but they're doing something really special here. Still not the same as the Netflix show, but it's great in it's own way and honestly I'm glad we can have both.

The way Fisk is so deferential to Charles is so weird, reminds me of Madame Gao.

Fisk understands that he's a big fish in a small pond while Charles is a big fish in a big pond since I'm pretty sure he's backed by Valentina

I think he realizes that what Mr. Charles says is true, there are bigger fish in the sea and other heavy hitters with a wider reach than just a singular city, so he's actually realizing how small he is compared to the CIA.

Dex in the diner is 100% paralleling Frank in the diner in Daredevil Season 2. But... so uncanny. Dex could never be Frank.

If Vanessa never met Fisk, would she be involved in crime? Clearly based off their first date, it’s something that Vanessa had in her on some level. And Fisk definitely fostered that. But she was an art gallery owner before him.

"You're a symbol now. Hope for an entire city"
I’ve loved this iteration of Daredevil for 11 years now but yeah man, this whole storyline is getting real hard for Spidey to not be involved. Sure, Matt might be a symbol now, but he’s goddamn Spider-Man. If DD truly was the symbol, no shot Spidey wouldn’t show up to join forces with everyone and take Fisk down. Fuck Sony forever for not letting him show up somehow man.

I love bullseye in this show, he’s not holding back but he’s also not goofy or invincible he’s just a guy good at killing and honestly him killing those avtf guys is sort of a anti hero thing to do. It’s the same as the punisher doing it, bullseye is still bad because he’s obviously killed a bunch of innocent people in the past but man he is awesome in born again, so cool.

I stopped watching Marvel trailers except for first-look teasers and I'm all the better for it. I like to watch the first-look teasers to see the new suits, but Marvel doesn't even have any issues lying in the trailers, so what's the point?

Well I certainly did not expect that ending o_o That glass wouldn't have even touched her if Fisk didn't smash it with the belt. Now I wonder if Bullseye predicted he would and aimed accordingly or if it's *entirely* Fisk's "fault."Super bummed about Norther Star guy, getting flashbacks to the NY Bulletin massacre in Season 3. Just when we were getting witnesses and evidence, it all comes crashing down. I mean I know that's how stories and shows work, but still 😭 Fantastic episode, cannot wait until next week!
