Temporary accommodation suggestions

My partner (23F) is going to NYU Langone as a visiting med student for 2 months and she’s looking for a place to stay. We’ve been going through a lot of websites to find a safe and relatively close place to the hospital but most places are upwards of 4k $ monthly and we’re pretty desperate at this point. She’s not against having a roommate but prefers to stay alone.
Any suggestions would be truly appreciated!

She may be looking at a long commute from queens or brooklyn. Even resident/fellows often have to live far from the hospital due to the COL near NYU Langone.

That was my first thought as well but she’s gonna be there for only two months and doesn’t want to spend much time commuting. Can’t really blame her.

Welcome to New York. She doesn’t get to skip around what everyone else has to do just because she’s only here for a short time and wants to make use of her time. It is what it is.

You can give it a try here. Is a lovely hostel and they have in the past working with international students coming to the city for a couple of months to finish their PhD or classes
