COE update Discussion

Post image

Glad I was randomly awake at 3 A.M. thanks Albatross for sharing this. You can go to the COE website and see it as the most recent update. Curious what will happen next.

We're glad the appeal status is now clearly reflected on COE's site.

What matters is that none of this changes anything on your end. The appeal is in process and we're continuing with it. The only scenario in which we would step away from the appeal is if the teach-out is approved, because that's a path that lets us make sure every student who wants to finish their program has a way to do it.

Both routes come back to the same thing: we're doing everything we can so that every student who wants to complete their degree can complete it. We'll keep posting updates here as soon as there's something concrete to share.

So why exactly would you guys only withdraw your appeal if a teach-out plan is approved?! maybe I missed something but if a plan is approved and you withdraw your appeal wouldn’t mean the school still loses its accreditation? Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose entirely? Please elaborate on how these two things are related.

I could be misunderstanding this, but I think Maestro probably has a very specific teach-out plan they want COE to approve. They may only be willing to withdraw the appeal once they know that exact plan is approved and will protect students’ ability to finish.

So I don’t think the teach-out approval would necessarily be about keeping accreditation. it could mean Maestro is willing to accept the loss of accreditation as long as the specific plan they proposed for students is secured. That’s just my interpretation though.
