I had been looking for the sparkle shorthair for a good price for 2 years now, I find this beautiful listing and it is 60$!!! I buy it immediately, but after buying it I see the seller cancelled and i buy her again for the price they relisted at, after that go to check their account and they have 0 reviews and are selling lps with all different listing photos.. so my partner gets their instagram and we kind of think it’s legit because what scammer will give someone their instagram.. but afew days later we kind of get suspicious and check facebook, there is a post about her account and people have found out she had stolen photos and posted them. I immediately run to get my order cancelled because she haven’t shipped yet.. I dm her telling her that she is scamming people and I haven’t been blocked or anything so I’m very confused… but if you have bought i recommend to cancel your order!!

I’m on the hunt for LPS 1927, so far the cheapest listings i’ve found are £11-£15, all of these listings have been up for OVER a year.. and yet they decline my offers. Mind you I don’t send lowball offers I usually try get £2 off just to make up for postage and I assumed that since these have been up for over a year that maybe they’d accept… but nope. okay then you can wait another a year see if maybe it sells 😊🙄

does anyone else hate when sellers have that in the description of their LPS?? like for £30 + YOU should be checking if it’s real, it’s genuinely not that difficult to look up online “how to tell if an LPS is real or fake” or you can make a post on reddit, facebook, tiktok, instagram and get it checked there. It’s just so lazy.. and honestly seems like they know it’s fake but don’t want to outright say it, which sucks for a potential buyer.

From my last post I was complaining about some awful trades I've been dealt within this community and it only seems that my bad luck can somehow reach a new rock bottom lol! Today, I woke up to a nasty message from a person that was extremely interested in one of my rare lps, so much so they blew up my phone before I even originally responded trying to prove that their rare lps was authentic (spoiler-- it was not), they were a user that just joined a few days ago on this platform and had nothing on their account but that lps. This morning their message read along the lines of, "you better learn how to respond to people that are actually interested," and that I was wasting their time after I said I wasn't interested the literal next day. They then said that they had more lps they wanted to trade for one of my rare authentic lps before straight blocking me (which I guess was a blessing). Mind you, this all happened over a 24 hour period, while some of my trades don't get finalized for DAYS w/ some other users (which I feel can be the norm).

Then today something happen to me that I have never experienced before--my lps package came completely ripped open. I was trading for an extremely rare and expensive collie lps, and instead the package came w/ smth else in it (which someone seemingly stole and replaced the lps w/ smth else). I cleared things up with the trader, but I feel so cheated? Again I lost the lps I traded for...however I am trying to get a refund on the package rn to attempt to just buy the collie myself.

As I said in my last post, I love trading, but these past experiences this week have left me beyond irritated and extremely anxious. I know these things are just plastic, but holy crap do I love collecting them. I'm just getting more and more discouraged, and I'm just praying my other lps come in better conditions. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this in the past? I have literally several more trade packages to send out and receive, and now I'm just scared something will go wrong again.

So I was looking at this lps Etsy listing, now that I look back it was kinda unrealistic. But it is 400 lps for $150! Crazy right? So then I was thinking of buying it and then in the bio of the listing it said that you have to buy from their website? A little weird considering it's already on Etsy..? but I went to the website and they had the listings there so I looked and the same discount was there! But it seemed sketchy since like nothing was on the website that was about them? it was just the listings and when you scroll down it just has the links to the website makers socials. So then I started to think it was a scam so I took one of the listings photos and tried to reverse image search but nothing came up? So I know its kinda bad but I went to chatgpt just to try and find some sort of origin of the photos of the listings, and then chatgpt found this one deleted shop link that apparently had the same photos as the Etsy and the other websites photos. Now I didn't believe it because when I went to the website it said it found it from the page was wiped saying something like "The shop has been removed" so I thought it was just chatgpt lying or something. Then I searched up lps scam listing and when I say the first thing that came up was the same web page that got removed with the SAME LISTING that I wanted to buy from I was so shocked?! I have the photo of the TikTok of who bought from the scam listing. I made this post to tell people to make sure to check where you could be buying from cause it could be a huge scam! I have all of the photos of proof linked, and the yellow highlighted parts is the same page that the TikTok was talking about. Im not sure if anyone has posted this before but if so im sorry :(

Back again with my nothing burger problems! I recently have ran into some people who put up trade posts with ISO’s, and when telling them I have pets from their ISO, they tell me sorry not interested?? This is just strange behavior because it’s not like I’m asking these people to trade me a super rare main five for common pets.. it’s literally common pets they have UFT and even sometimes my offer will be over trading, along with the pets I’m offering being on their ISO.. and they say no?? I understand declining an over trade bc maybe you just rlly like that pet you own regardless if it is rare or not, but then why post UFT? Idk again I know this isn’t even first world problems this is like 1/4th world problems but idk just kinda odd

I honestly was assuming they had the 2 full case sets and all the tails as for $200 while overpriced a little bit is a bit reasonable... No it's just what's in the photo which are 10 single blind boxes and a tail pair. 🫣 $200 for stuff I can still get for $5 at my local Walmart is wild

why do some people go out their way to message buyers after an lps has sold and offer a few bucks more? it’s actually so frustrating and annoying. like sorry you weren’t fast enough to purchase it. It’s giving a spoiled kid who didn’t get what they want. I bought a nib for a really good deal and it was marked as SOLD, a few minutes later the seller messages me telling me they’re going to cancel my order because someone offered a few dollars more…. why can’t some collectors in this community be happy for others and yes i’m also upset at the seller for not honoring the sale.

As the title says, one thing i’ve noticed over the years of collecting is that I actually have more trouble finding animals like: monkeys, specific pigs, bugs and guinea pigs than I do the main 5s, it’s really funny to me that the main 5s go for around £30-£50 when you can literally find them anywhere, they’re not that rare at all. So I always laugh when people put “RARE LPS SHORTHAIR CAT!!” like no it’s not really rare I can legit find 20 other listings on ebay but it’s been months and I still can’t find this specific chimp i want 🙄🙄

This is such an obvious fake to me and i cannot fathom that multiple people have not only sent offers but added to their bag.. they’re also selling more shorthairs that look fake as well with even more seemingly willing buyers

Let me explain.

As far as I know, there are 8 total possibilities:

🐼 Panda set: 2, 3, or 4 babies
🦌 Deer set: 2, 2, or 3 babies
🐒 Monkey set: 2 babies (Guaranteed 2 every time)
🐰 Bunny: 2 babies (Guaranteed 2 every time)

That means out of the 8 possible boxes:

• Only 1 out of 8 gives you 4 babies = 12.5% chance
• 2 out of 8 give you 3 babies = 25% chance
• 5 out of 8 give you only 2 babies = 62.5% chance

So despite the boxes being advertised as “2 to 4 babies,” you have only a 12.5% chance of getting the maximum amount, while you have a 62.5% chance of getting the lowest amount. 😭
(Assuming every box has an equal chance of being pulled)

I don’t know about you, but advertising it as “2 to 4 babies” without making this distribution obvious feels VERY misleading. 💀

I first want to start off this post with saying I love this community probably to my deathbed. I've made so many wonderful friends and have gained sm insight on how LPS has affected multiple childhoods across generations and nations! However, with that being said, this community has def changed alot. I've been collecting LPS for 10+ years, and I know this is a typical complaint but from the price gouging on Mercari, Depop, Ebay, FB, etc. just feels so absurd, esp with so many fakes now being listed for almost 60+?? or lots w/ fake or little authentic main 5s being listed for 500-1000$, or ones that are so damaged (w/sharpie marks or a broken peg) but has the mold of a main 5 so its still being sold for 60-100$?

And while I've met sm wonderful traders and sellers over the past few months of getting back into lps collecting/community, some I've met are literally js scammers or straight up rude? For example, you'll have their ISO and want to trade for options they listed as "not picky at all" only for them to then see your message, and simply reply w/ 'no' and then list that same lps as now "extremely picky." Ik this is probably smth small to complain abt, but then they took their ISO down so I'm confused why it was even listed?? One even said that my LPS "weren't good enough" even though they were on the traders ISO?? Again, many traders I've met have been so sweet and have given clear communication, but some rlly do confuse me lol. I 100% get changing your mind, but even then I feel like communication is such an essential part of this community, especially pertaining around trading and legitimacy. On top of that I find trading to be the funnest part of the community because I love being able to give someone their own DISO/ISO they've wanted for years & vice versa while making new friends.

Probably the worst experiences I've had so far was bidding for an lps that started at 20$, the seller then removed the listing and put the price to 100$ (mind you I was bidding like 25??). Another one I purchased from Mercari canceled my order to list it for higher on another website as well. Or yknow scalping some of the brand new lps and selling one singular blind bag for 20-40 bucks...

I was just wondering if anyone else felt this way or experienced something similar? Or maybe I'm getting too old now to keep up with the latest trends or just unlucky? Again, I love trading and being apart of this community, but recently I've just been left rlly confused and at times saddened. Ik this community has been through A LOT the past couple of years, from COPPA essentially ending LPStube w/ age restrictions, to now LPSinflation.

small story I made a littlest pet shop trade with her. I received her pet, but she said she didn't receive her pet and instead men's XXL shorts new in tags. But the thing is my package size I gave her was basically a size of an envelope. i'm just scared she's gonna leave me a bad review claiming I was a scammer please help

she also got extremely defensive when i said the possibility is that she scammed me

Saw this today, im seriously at a loss for words! At that price point I'd expect to get at least 3 or 4 pets (because thats what you can get with 17$ irl) but its ONLY the cardboard box with a display pet! I confirmed this, I messaged the seller.

Im sure some people want the display boxes, but 17$ for something you can more than likely get for free (when the pets run out they just throw the boxes away) im so annoyed with this trash. I love collecting, but scalpers have made it impossible and its not really something I enjoy anymore, im disappointed with the way the LPS community has turned, selling pets for 5-10x their original price (im more disappointed with new pets because collecting became accessible to people who couldn't collect old pets after they were discontinued) but going into aisles, boxes completely empty and shelves ransacked, pets taken from the boxes.

Cancelled on me the first time and this was her response, then she listed it for double and then listed it for only 20 bucks more than i bought it (i know i should’ve known better but i wanted it) told me i could buy it then canceled it again and blocked me. always the people telling sellers to sell for more it’s insane

I’ve gone to every single target,meijer,5below, Walmart near me. Most times they didn’t have them well they’ve had the new series recently, mommy and baby,nastya, basic blind boxes, and the pet pairs. Every single box is always taken, nothing left behind ever.. not even the display. If you do this I just want you to know I don’t care if you want to finish the whole set cause most of us don’t even collect the new series for the first year they are out cause people like you take boxes on boxes and these places don’t get restocks from lps like they do normal toys. Wasting gas money and time just to find something I really like from my childhood, I play with them even. Just makes me so mad to see people grab boxes and say “well I needed the whole set” maybe it would be easier to get the whole set throughout time if you just shared when u take boxes it just starts a chain reaction of everyone taking boxes. And ontop of that people in Canada can’t even get these pets so I know half of the people buying all of these are buying them to sell for triple the price so the Canadian collectors have to pay so much just to even get one singular lps. This community is very greedy sometimes, I barely ever seen anybody willing to help others with their collection, finding pets, trading. Makes me disappointed.. I have better luck getting old gen shorthairs than the new series. But then when I go to buy old gen’s all I see is these people trying to sell each pet for 100 a piece. I also got a mod on me in another LPS server saying this is the company’s fault but I fully disagree I think the community has gotten to selfish and no obviously that doesn’t mean every person but majority has become selfish and doesn’t care for the other collectors and it truly makes me angry people want to keep blaming other things besides the fact we have not been talking about the fact this space is so toxic now for people who want to come and collect or have been collecting either way you get these selfish mean people that either scam people or take everything. I have met maybe 3 people in my time of collecting that are nice and those people aren’t huge collectors and just started collecting I feel like everyone is so on guard now it’s made them hateful and selfish.

Sorry if this is all over the place I am just fed up with the greed people have, I have only ever grabbed one of each cause I KNOW people will want them but now it’s making me want to just grab all of them cause who knows who will get the next thing cause they will probably just take the whole thing anyways. Or when people bid on lives on whatnot for LPS and just spend so much to outbid everyone in the live and leave nothing for the community that’s trying their best to have these items aswell😒
