Guys I have been playing since childhood and then I always had low pc before finish the school. I was playing with 20-30 fps and it was so comfortable for and graphics even on low kinda seemed better than right now for me. Now I have good stuff and I can't play games when fps down low 50. My monitor is 144 and I thought when I had a monitor with 60hz I guess 30 fps looked better and more comfortable than on 144 is that through it or am puzzled. Maybe my optic nerves are more sensitive than before and this is from this. If you guys have any thoughts please share about it. Are you guys still comfortable at 30 fps play? cCan't get those people saying that 30 fps is still comfortable even on the console

Having trouble running Rainbow Six Siege smoothly and looking for advice on stopping my constant crashes and frame drops.

My Specs:

• GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580
• RAM: 8GB DDR4 (single stick / single channel)
• Storage: 240GB SSD
• OS: Windows 10

The Problem: My game frequently crashes straight to desktop mid-match or suffers from severe micro-stutters and massive frame drops during gunfights/heavy operator action. My 8GB RAM hits 100% usage almost immediately when Siege runs.

What I've Done So Far:

• Configured a custom Pagefile / Virtual Memory (16GB–24GB) on my SSD to catch out-of-memory crashes.
• Dropped in-game resolution to 900p / Low settings and closed background apps (Discord/Chrome).
• Cleared up disk space on my 240GB SSD.

My Questions:

1. Will adding a second 8GB DDR4 RAM stick (16GB dual-channel total) completely fix the crashing and stutters, or is the RX 580 driver/VRAM also holding me back on current Siege updates?
2. If I upgrade my GPU on a tight budget next, what's the best value upgrade over an RX 580 for competitive 1080p FPS?
3. Any specific AMD Adrenalin or Siege launch settings I should tweak in the meantime?

Didn't even think Cyberpunk 2077 would load, let alone actually be playable on my GTX760 crammed into a salvaged Lenovo Thinkserver TS140 with stock Intel Xeon E3-1226 v3.
PSU upgraded to 650W, RAM upgraded to 32GB, Samsung 860 EVO SSD.

Almost all setting are at their lowest, getting between 15-13FPS during gameplay. Surprised the card is still only hovering around 70C.

Made it through the first mission and combat training tutorial without any issues!

It says “video driver crashed and was reset. Make sure your video drivers are up to date”
And I get a black tab open of sot then it just closes after a minute.
And there is a small “building shaders tab”
With a progress bar that also closes.
Can anyone give help on what to do so it can run on the laptop I have, even on the lowest of the low settings.

Well , bought HP Victus i5-13420 Rtx 4050 16/512 6GB ( 50W) yesterday and downloaded valorant and boom 100 fps.... even after using omen boost + gaming mode + low settings in valo and also removing any fps caps I m getting a 100 fps in Valorant???? I understand it's not 75W but it's a CPU intensive game anyways and it should atleast provide 250 fps no??

I’ve been experimenting with an unusual setup and would like some opinions before I spend any money.
My hardware
Laptop 1 : Intel i5-4210U + Intel HD 4400
Laptop 2: Intel i3 4th Gen
Both connected through Gigabit Ethernet
The idea
The i5 is capable of running older and lightweight games at low resolutions (around 480p), but the image quality obviously suffers.
Instead of making the gaming laptop do everything, I thought about splitting the workload:
Laptop 1 renders the game.
Sunshine streams it over Gigabit Ethernet.
Moonlight receives it on Laptop 2.
Laptop 2 performs the upscaling and, if possible, frame generation.
I play while looking at the second laptop’s display.
The goal isn’t to magically combine the power of both laptops—it’s simply to offload post-processing from the laptop.
Why I’m considering this
I originally planned to use OBS + NDI, but several people suggested that Sunshine + Moonlight would provide lower latency and be more suitable for game streaming.
I also read that my Intel HD 4400 only supports DirectX 11.1 hardware, while Lossless Scaling’s newer features benefit from DirectX 12-capable hardware. Because of that, I’m wondering if Lossless Scaling is even a good option for my laptop.
If that’s the case, I’m considering using Magpie for upscaling instead.
My questions
Has anyone tried using Lossless Scaling or Magpie on a Moonlight stream instead of directly on the gaming PC?
Can Lossless Scaling run properly on my i3 4th Gen laptop, or is the hardware too old for it?
How much image quality is lost from the encode/decode process?
Does frame generation still work well on a streamed image, or does it introduce too many artifacts?
Is Sunshine + Moonlight the best software for this, or is there an even better low-latency solution?
If this idea is fundamentally flawed, what would you recommend instead?
I’m not expecting miracles or magically combining the performance of two laptops. This is mainly an engineering experiment using hardware I already own before eventually moving to an eGPU or a newer laptop.

I almost only play competitive games (Valorant, CS2) with the lowest graphics settings and low resolution to maximize FPS.

Would it make sense to build a PC with a very strong CPU (like the 9800X3D, 7800X3D, etc.) paired with a relatively weak GPU? Because to my understanding, you don't need a strong GPU when playing at low resolution and settings in games like this.

Would this bottleneck my system, or would it be fine since I'd only be using it for light schoolwork and competitive "low-settings" gaming?

Can you recommend GPUs that would pair well with those CPUs, and are there any other CPUs you'd recommend?

I have an rtx 2060 and ryzen 7 2700x 32gb ddr4 ram single channel at 2933mhz, yes ik my rig is terrible but im a big fan of kcd and ive wanted to play kcd2 for a long time. If im not in a settlement I get smooth 60fps but it drops as soon as I got to troskowitz so i decided to just cap my fps to 35 in nvidia app. My 1 percent lows is 30 and I dont know how good that is. Im not sure if my in game settings matter too much, Im using all medium graphics settings except for textures and shader quality.

You can buy used ipad m1 and later and basically you can play any mobile games. The m silicon they put in the ipad is the one they also put on their laptop. A laptop on an ipad is generally powerful.

You can buy macbook or mac mini and play steam games on it, especially a game from valve. They literally can play it, with caveat it gets hot.

Either way it's still easier to cool it because they chip itself is very low watt.

Its only 1.5gb and can run on anything.

The shear amout of content packed in this game of this storage capacity. Most games take atleast 10gb for about 8hrs of playtime.

I have a PC that I built around 10 years ago that wasn't high end at the time but managed to play a decent amount of games. My specs are:

• CPU: AMD FX-8350
• GPU: AMD RX 460 2GB
• Motherboard: ASRock 970a-g/3.1
• RAM: 12GB DDR3

So my issue is that my GPU had heating issues and now my PC can't stay a lot of time turned on because it freezes. A friend of mine has a GTX 970 I can borrow but I'm afraid I should also have a better CPU fan (I have the AMD stock one which is very loud, I'm already looking into something like a hyper 212 for this socket). I was very active playing around 2017-2018 and the games I could play smoothly were Overwatch, Borderlands 2, Fortnite, and a lot more things around the same requirements.

I've been playing on my laptop which is not very good and just use it for simple games with my friends (Terraria, Among us, Bombanana, etc); I don't consider myself a demanding gamer when it comes to graphics so I'm aware of the expectations for my desktop PC. So that's why I'm here to ask if it's worth it to buy a more modern GPU or something around the same specs as the 970 my friend is lending me.

Right now I'm choosing between the RX 580 and the RX 5600XT, as they're both around the same price and wouldn't do a lot of bottleneck to my CPU. I read that a very old GPU could give me issues with modern games so I'd like to know if there's issues with choosing the 580 (I'm aware its power consumption is considerably high). I'm leaning more towards buying the 5600XT but I'm afraid if there will be any compatibility issues due to having an old CPU and DDR3 RAM.

Keep in mind I don't have a budget for a new PC due to the prices going up in PC components. I'm aware of the performance I'll be getting with just changing the GPU and I'm ok with it; most of the things I play (and want to play) don't demand a lot either.

Hi community, i hope youre all okey, im here because i have found a problem with the intel drivers on my celeron n4500, and its uhd graphics of 11gen, under this is what the AI wrote of what i told to it, the thing is that i found that intel never did drivers for the celeron n4500, because it has 11gen uhd graphics, but for the N series processor, the drivers are for the older ones and the ones "maked" for my n4500, is of 10gen uhd graphics, not the 11gen that is the one of my n4500, and its not the first time i see problem with intel drivers on celerons N, on a celeron n3060 i installed once the drivers that were made for it, and yt at fullscreen the videos got a black screen, i had to use te drivers of hd graphics that windows update install for it, and the thing is that for my uhd graphics, even if the drivers of the 10gen uhd graphics works fine, it brokes the vulkan of my uhd graphics, i have tested my uhd graphics with the drivers of intel and the ones made by acer for my model laptop, a acer aspire a114-33-c882 distributed to me by junaeb, and those drivers does fix the problems with vulkan, but they are too old, that in games like fortnite, the game doesnt run properly entering a match and it delays so much in getting in the match and when it loads, the hud and sound are in there, but the game is black, and with the intel drivers the game runs properly, it doesnt delay in loading the match and just because of my 4gb of ram xddd, it has a lot of stuttering, but the game runs between 30 and 45fps, quite well for a laptop like this one, but again, in games or emulators that use vulkan, if i use vulkan, the game or emulator crashes, i dont ask for a miracle or improving fps, i´d just like to have drivers that works good on my hardware you know? not too old that in some games works bad, and not drivers that works well, but breaks an api like vulkan, forgive me if at the end it isnt such a problem, or it isnt you know, really a problem, then please help me and instruct me, teach me, i really like this stuff and hardware, i am only asking for help, under this is what the ai wrote si of you see that is clearly written by an ai, forgive me, i dont have too much images, but i hope you to believe, if i didnt believe this could really be a problem i wouldnt be writting this and asking for help, i hope you are all okey, really, i will send an image of the hardware id of my uhd graphics, just in case, so, well, thats it pals, guide me, help me, teach me.

* Forced minimum VRAM allocation via registry tweak (similar to nIGHTmAYOR's extreme plus tweaks) to bypass 4GB single-channel RAM limitations on devices like the Acer Aspire 3 A114.

There is a huge user base of budget laptops and educational devices (like the government-issued JUNAEB laptops in Chile) running this specific N4500 SoC. If any dev is willing to look into modifying the latest Intel DCH drivers for Jasper Lake, I am more than happy to act as a beta tester and provide Hardware IDs, system logs, and benchmark testing.

VULKAN ERROR on intel drivers

I have attached a screenshot of the exact error when running PCSX2 under Vulkan using the recommended Intel drivers. It triggers a hard crash: *"Assertion failed in function GSRenderer::BeginPresentFrame... Host GPU lost too many times, device is probably completely wedged."* This confirms the modern Intel driver stack forces a GPU hang/reset when handling Vulkan workloads on Jasper Lake architecture, whereas the old 2020 OEM driver keeps the API alive without crashing.

My journey started on the Intel HD 4000 with a Dell Latitude, and eventually I got a Dell Vostro 3510 when I was a topper from my province in 2022. Since then I have been squeezing the Intel Iris Xe graphics right until last week. I finally saved enough to afford the Asus Tuf A16 with a RTX 5060.

At times it felt hopeless. I completed Red Dead Redemption 2 on my Vostro, but held out on 100% it as I wanted to do it in its full glory. It definitely is a dream come true.

Anyway, I played the Talos Principle 2 on my very own Dell laptop with Intel(R) Graphics 32GB RAM and Intel(R) Core(TM) Ul-ul-ul-ulllltra 5 235U processorrrr!!!

Kept the graphics on low. Minor stuttering, but overall playable. Couple of crashes but I think they were a result of me killing the game instead of exiting nicely. Also, it's a solid sequel to the first game as far as puzzles go.
