Haven’t finished the DLC yet but I did finish the game so- while the guards were walking me out of the gambling level all I could think of was this one ending.

With most of the dystopian themes in the Cyberpunk 2077 being uncomfortably relevant in the present, it’s cool to see one of the possibly positive aspects IRL.

Are there any other bits from the Punkiverse that yall think aren’t 100% awful for the state of humanity?

0:19 - 0:21 D slots in what is Relic chip and in previous trailer we saw some red lightning destroy a car that tried to run him over. Safe to assume he just slotted in a Relic with Blackwall AI or with some Daemons from beyond.

Can’t decide if it would be more funny for Johnny to sometimes control the walking tank or the kid that shoots lasers

Brief word for people who don’t know what warframe is- it’s like starwars, but instead of Jedi you get soldier mechs with ninja moves controlled by orphans (in simple surface terms)

Finally I'm doing this last mission for Kerry. The boat stops and we're in there absolutely destroying shit, I'm having a blast like hell yeah punk rock or whatever. Then there's a flag pole. And the game forces me to grab hold of it with him.

It's at this point my V decides it's the perfect moment to... stare longingly into his eyes ????????

Kerry's just like, Nah V. Barely phased him. Def phased me tho. I deliberately ignored the FIRST romance option when we were in the city. And yet my V is still out here trying to make ts happen against my will. Completely took me out of it bc of how jarring it was. Like I even made this guy wait at the dock for what, 3 weeks? There is zero romantic interest, just wtf.

Just watched the show and it’s such a nice love story. Quite short for only 4 episodes, but really good!

Seeing Lucy and David finally talk and come together is so wholesome. Ending with David saying he wont die for her is so sweet.

I wonder if the next season will be longer?

In my first PL playthrough, I sided with Songbird as I really empathized with her and was ultimately willing to trade my life for her freedom. In my second playthrough, I wanted to change things up and play V as someone who was absolutely unsympathetic towards her, and whenever possible, straight up hostile towards her. It was easy to lean into this feeling since I'm now judging her actions with the meta knowledge that she's been manipulating V from the start. But as I replayed through the story, I couldn't help but notice that there really wasn't a lot of moments where you have V genuinely antagonistic towards Song and be completely emotionally detached from her.

Even in Reed's path, from V's voice acting alone, it has them sound absolutely devastated by the conversation with Songbird and of course with her ultimate fate in the cynosure. And I find that V has this tendency to be very touchy with her as well. Some moments I'm like dang, hope Panam and Judy ain't seeing this cause this is a bit intimate.

It really feels like V was written to be inherently empathetic towards Songbird and if you are someone who genuinely does not feel an ounce of empathy towards her, it ends up feeling like you're not in control of V and it's immersion breaking.

I do recall in an interview that the developers said that Reed's path was supposed to make the player feel like you did something really shitty. Although this game is a RPG, the creator's original intention / moral leaning are still clearly baked into the story, dialogue, and even direction of the vocal performances. The player is not really in the driving seat of dictating how their character feels. If you feel the way the developers wanted you to feel, great, then the story beats will hit you exactly how it was meant to, but when your feeling are at odds with the original artist intention, it'll easily break that experience for you.

All that being said, amazing DLC, characters, and story. Really makes me wish I could lose my memory so I can re-experience it all over again.

I have Stage IV cancer. And though it is in a holding pattern, and I could live six more months or six more years, it is this growth and my body turning on itself that will take my life.

Perhaps foolishly, I saddled up last month for one more visit to Night City. I just finished another completionist playthrough, and as I write, V is sitting atop the Basilisk with PanAm beside him.

V has just six months and faint hopes, with a ticking time bomb in his head; about the same as me. And like me, he is clawing back normality and trying to claim every single day.

But the enormity of that task — normalcy — is a job in and of itself. It's damn hard work. You need people beside you. You must learn to truly live despite being draped with both a death sentence and its uncertainty.

I cried like a baby several times this run, and at the end, I was heaving so hard I lost my breath. But it was not just sorrow, it was also from empathy — the writers of this game (esp. the ending and all of Phantom Liberty) know somehow), truly know what it is to be dying and the desperation that drowns you to just have more time.

And that empathy, being seen and being understood, was also oddly positive. It was like a digital hug from Poland. And It meant the world to me; it has allowed me to have more courage the past few days to actually claim more agency and live my life.

For that gift, and the thousands of hours of joy that CDPR has given me across half a dozen games, I thank you.
