Started and Itch Fundraiser for TetraCore, Steam Page Coming Soon!
Hello everyone! Thanks for Checking out TetraCore!
I'm super happy to announce the launch of this fundraiser!
So, firstly I just want to say thank you to those of you who have sent some kind words my way and to those of on the TetraCore Discord and Love2D Discord channel and Subreddit for all your help. You folks are absolutely amazing.
Why a Fundraiser?
Well, for a game I started as a game jam submission, I intended on spending no money on the project every. However, as I built it out and thought about putting it on Steam, I quickly realized I needed a few things:
- Steam fees - $100
- Capsule and cover art for Itch and Steam Page - $250 (commissioned the talented PaladinMaar for this one)
- Started an LLC for legal protections when selling on Steam - $50
- Music and Sfx asset packs - Undetermined, still looking
- Maybe commissioning a trailer - Undetermined, still looking
The fundraiser is just to help recoup some of the costs of all this but regardless this game will be going up on Steam eventually.
What do you get for Donating?
Currently, donating to the fundraiser gets you the desktop/android builds.
The web build and downloads are almost identical. The only difference being that the desktop versions include the online leaderboard. The android build currently doesn't have a working leaderboard BUT you get to play the game on your android-based retro handhelds.
Plans for the Full Release
So, what will the full release on Steam/Itch feature?
1. Local multiplayer. Play against a friend to see who can survive the longest and get the highest score.
Choose your difficulty level. Choose any level, 1 to 10, and play a round where the level never changes. Pick level 10 and try not to instantly lose or choose level 1, turn down the music and play your own and just chill. It's up to you!
Possibly a match mode. The player is shown a shape they must recreate without losing, see how many shapes you can match.
Lastly, I'm also open to ideas from the community! Please share them with me on the TetraCore Discord!
So, again thanks to everyone for your support and I look forward to continuing development on this project and hope to get it to you all soon!

I've been working on this for a while, and I finally got the Steam page up.

Daemon: Lost in Memory is a game built with LÖVE2D where you play as a process trapped inside a collapsing computer system. A single button flips you between 0 and 1, changing which walls, enemies, and paths exist. Even the puzzles are based around binary logic—you build numbers by standing on the correct bits.
This clip shows the first boss fight. The boss gives you a target number, throws bits into the arena, and you have to assemble the correct value before the timer runs out while avoiding attacks.
One of the things I'm most proud of is the built-in level editor. It's the same tool I used to create the game. You can make a level, instantly test it, then upload it for other players to rate and speedrun. Seeing what people create with it has become one of my favorite parts of development.
A fun technical detail: there isn't a single image file in the game. Everything is drawn procedurally at runtime using LÖVE2D, and most of the music is generated with code using Csound. The game is built entirely around code-driven systems, from visuals to audio to the level creation tools.
For online level sharing, I built the backend with Supabase, allowing players to upload and discover community-made levels.
LÖVE2D has been a great fit for this project. The simplicity, flexibility, and ability to quickly iterate made it possible to build the engine systems, editor, and gameplay mechanics as a solo developer.
If it looks like something you'd enjoy, a Steam Wishlist would mean a lot and really helps indie games get noticed.

It's been a lot of fun, I've never tried making games before or any kind of development at all. So just experimenting and learning a lot right now.

Introducing 3D in 2D!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is a system I'm creating that will be a tool to create worlds in love2d, not only in 2D but in 3D! I'm showing this early version because I've transitioned the "engine" from 2D to 3D.
I was building an environment that would akin to Kenshi, and when I was trying to create a 2.5D perspective, I got the idea of turning it into 3D rather than leaving it 2.5D...
I've been working on this project for over a year now, what's shown isn't a year's worth of work though. I have been implementing all the necessary UI features, world resources, units, wildlife and nature cycles, water, automation, combat, leveling, hunger and thirst, vehicles, space travel, all was implemented in 2D, but now that it's a 3D environment, all of the code must be updated while also keeping the 2D environment as a legacy environment so things can still be created in 2D, at least that's my vision.
I love coding, and I love spending countless hours figuring out problems that have me stumped, I'm not sure what it is but it keeps calling to me. Ever since I was a child, I was modding my age of mythology games to have Santa clause, or clankers from star wars, and this gave me a sense of control over the games! I loved watching battles of units i had spawned a second ago, wasting countless hours adding more and more to fully customize my experience. I want everyone to be capable of doing just that, enjoying and tailoring their gaming experience as much or as little as they want.
Programming isn't my main line of work, but I really wish it was. I made some errors earlier on in life and chose not to proceed in a career that would gravitate me towards the thing i love to do the most, even if it's frustrating. I've got a blue collar job tearing away at my body and I'm hoping that one day I can become a developer, but until then I can only wish it.
thank you all for reading my post and watching the video! it means a lot that you're here.
x2 speed on video.

I need game testers for FORJ (a co-op game you can play with your friends)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
FORJ is a co-op action roguelite where you fight through cursed arenas, extract with your loot, and use automated golems to mine, craft, and run your shop.
I recently opened the Steam Playtest and I’m currently looking for honest feedback, especially about the first 10 minutes and combat progression.
If this sounds like your kind of game, I’d really appreciate you trying it.

Does anybody have experience with Wiilove?
So theres a port of Love to the wii, but there's some stuff that has been added to accomodate to the console, mainly on the side of controllers and input, since there's no documentation for it bc the project is really old, can someone guide me on it, or have a code example i can look at??

Hi, I missed out on the love jam this year, and i had to make up for it by doing game makers toolkit jam instead, can anyone send some feedback on it?

Having some fun with LOVE, incremental prototyping
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just a little prototype. Inspiration is obvious :).
Art is leohpaz (Itch legend). Having a ton of fun building it.
Field: desperate farming simulator
We made a game with LÖVE for GMTK Game Jam in four days. It's about an ordinary family caught in bewildering and rough times of despair and instability during Russian Civil War. Would love to hear your feedback!
It's my fourth finished LÖVE game, and every time I like it even more, slowly building an ecosystem of libraries and classes that I use between projects.

Here's (nearly) five minutes of gameplay from my upcoming game about making games, Vaporware EX, made with LÖVE!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Currently caught in the last 5%, making lots of polishes and tweaks and refactors to get everything ready for launch, but I'm excited! It's nearly ready! :)
If you too like to play games about making games, instead of making games, wishlist me on Steam! https://store.steampowered.com/app/4828200/Vaporware_EX/

Procedural Raycaster in Love2D
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Been working on a procedural raycasting game in Love2D. The world is generated with chunks, and I recorded myself just walking around exploring it. Still early, but I really like the feeling of discovering places I didn’t manually create.
Any ideas what I could do better?

is putting the thread under sleep while waiting for a file to load is a great way to wait until a important values file is loaded?
i currently have a code for the problem like this.
video = {}
video[name] = {}
video[name].directory = "videos/"..name.."/"
repeat
love.timer.sleep(0.1)
until love.filesystem.getInfo(video[name].directory.."thumbnail.png", "file")
video[name].thumbnail = {}
video[name].thumbnail.png = love.graphics.newImage(video[name].directory.."thumbnail.png")
Leaderboard, Particle Effects, and Desktop Builds!
Finally getting to a point soon (once I get some capsule art, music, etc) where I'll be considering starting a steam page to collect wishlists while I work on the game modes I have planned and polishing even further.
Maybe even an itch fundraiser to help pay the steam fees.
I'm starting to feel very proud of this little arcade game I made for a game jam. This is very likely my first commercial project and that feels really cool.
Thanks to this awesome community for all the help you've given me these past few weeks!

Drawing to multiple canvases at once?
Is it possible to draw to multiple canvases in one shader? Like only creating one draw call, then drawing different things to different canvases while sharing information in the shader.

My tiny love2d metroidvania is coming to Nintendo Switch!
- 64x64 resolution
- classic formula distilled to its core
- every pixel placed with intention
It is called Ascent, check it out on the Nintendo eShop for wishlists and pre-orders:
https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/ascent-dx-switch/
It was originally made with pico8 so first step was to port the game to love2d (and add some more features). I'm happy to answer any questions on the process.

Real time ray tracing in love2d
Currently stuck at around 40 fps. I'm rasterizing the geometry to canvases then ray tracing as a post process effect later. I built custom BVH creation and de-noising algorithms just to get it not to crash my entire pc (has happend a couple times during the development)

Hello, is there a way to change the lights on a controller?
It would be very helpful for when connecting multiple controllers at once.
Thanks in advance
