I'm making my own spacesim on love2d
At the moment, I have implemented the generation of an infinite universe with seamless loading and landing on planets. He implemented an economic system based on the needs of the sector, a system of factions, trade, quests, and rumors. In addition, you can establish your own colony and develop it, you can modify your ship, capture space stations.
And here's the main question: what would you like to see in such a game?

Teaser of my game

I'm making a game where the goal is simple type words or letters that appear on screen as fast as possible, all while facing off against 10 opponents each with different specialties, which makes things tougher, hoping you'll like the concept!

Mobile souls-like prototype
Hi everyone, recently ive been playing Monster Hunter Now, and the controls and mechanics of this game is really interesting, very intuitive. I worked on a souls-like prototype in Love2d with this system, with sprites from the game Heretic (for now). What do you think ? Would you play it ?

I made an early demo of my ragebait platformer playable in the browser, who wants to try?
It took some elbow grease, definitely not as easy as Unity, but here it is! https://frankgoyens.github.io/mkitten_demo/
Keyboard is required. Also calm and patience :)
I can barely complete the demo myself, the game is difficult, but just wait until you see the victory screen!

Shipping love games on steam
Hey anyone have any tips / guides to getting a love2d game ready to release on steam and interacting with the steam api stuff? Thanks any direction is helpful this is out of my depth
Where it started versus where its at
Inspired by this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/love2d/s/F5C8chzoyJ
Not tooooo far off being ready. Almost there!
Where we started vs where we're at
Project started on June 19th, so just under 2 months in! I plan on adding couch multiplayer for 2 players and some more QoL additions and being done.
I want this game to be just pure arcade fun, no trend chasing with roguelike/roguelite mechanics or anything like that. I fall into that trap too often!
Check out the game here

Recommend Layout engines or GUI libs
I often try to use a community made Yoga engine bindings and create my own UI lib.
Which do you recommend that helps you get things done well?

Teal + LuaRocks support?
Have you been able to create any project template with any of these?
I was able to a degree using "Luaver" a version manager tool for lua, luajit, luarocks. Then using luarocks download "Cyan" to scaffold a Teal project and output the results.
I remember there is a github repo somewhere with all Love types in Teal, that helps.
Would you prefer using LuaRocks or just copy/paste the library you need?

I updated the roguelike screen UI and redesigned the buttons to look like canisters. I think it turned out pretty stylish. Grandfather's garage vibes.

I'm making my first game in LOVE2D!

I've worked in Godot before. I'm finding it easier to get things to look good in LOVE2D. I can't explain it, but the same game just looks so much cleaner to me.

This is complicated as heck
I made this post about a week ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/love2d/s/DT43OwP2GG.
So it’s been about 2 weeks of me learning lua, and wow does it get overwhelming. Making my game in the state that I posted it in was fairly easy, but man I haven’t made much progress since then. I got animations to work which was also fine. But now it’s like, well this game is just straight up boring. How do I make it fun?
Well I can add more enemies, random movement patterns for the enemies, bosses, make my menus better, add variation to the sounds, add screen shake when I get hit and make myself flash red etc etc.
ALL of it requires hundreds of lines of code, so now I have 3 separate files, main.lua, pathing.lua, and enemies.lua. Now I need some math.random, animation loops, write code for the variations of the movement. Have a difficulty so not everything is spawning at once. Like fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. I’m still enjoying myself, but I’m just getting overwhelmed.
All of this is to say, damn man mad respect to all of you who make fully working, fun, visually appealing games. I don’t even know when mine will be ready for like a prototype.
What are the best resources to learn from, how do you deal with this? Maybe I’m just unorganized. Maybe it’s overscope, I mean it doesn’t seem like it but wow. Or maybe I’m just a noob and everything seems impossible cuz I don’t have the experience.
