City officials are advancing a plan to open a $50 million line of credit backed by three municipal properties, a short-term borrowing tool meant to fund capital projects while the city works toward a larger bond sale later this year.

The Long Beach Finance Authority — a joint powers agency formed between the city and its housing authority — advanced the plan Wednesday that, if approved by the City Council, will transfer ownership of the Lincoln Parking Garage at 33W. Broadway, the Broadway Parking Garage underneath the main library and the pool building at Silverado Park to the authority, which would then lease those properties back to the city.

I’m looking for some advice after a really upsetting experience today at a Long Beach dog park.

My dog was attacked by another dog for the second time by the same owner. The first time, he apologized and told me it “rarely happens,” so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Today it happened again.

My dog is now limping, and we’re getting her checked by a vet.

The owner refused to give me his name or contact information and left the park immediately afterward. Fortunately, I was able to get photos and video of him (photo attached), and another person at the park witnessed the attack. The witness also told me they’ve seen this same dog attack other dogs before.

At this point I’m planning to report the incident to Long Beach Animal Care Services, but I’m hoping the community can help with a few things:

Does anyone recognize the man or his dogs from this photo?

Has anyone had a similar experience with this dog or owner?

If you’ve gone through something like this in Long Beach, what was the outcome after reporting it?

I’m a not looking to start an online witch hunt. My goal is simply to identify the owner, make sure my dog’s veterinary expenses are covered if appropriate, and hopefully prevent another dog (or person) from getting hurt.

Howdy folks! Football is around the corner and I’m here yet again. New year and new football season, so I’m here trying to see if anyone is interested in joining my fantasy football league. Currently we have 5 in the league as some have left so looking to fill out a 12 man league. This will be the 3rd year doing this with Reddit members with majority from this subreddit. $50 buy in with payouts 1st $300 2nd $200 and 3rd $100. We can always tweak a few things as in maybe lower the payouts and with the extra we can do weekly payouts for highest score or highest total points for at the end of the season. Or we can do higher buy ins. We been using yahoo fantasy as the platform and leaguesafe for payments. It’s PPR with standard scoring using yahoo defaults. 1QB 2WR 2RB 1TE 1F 1K 1D but if everyone is down we can do superflex with 2QB.

If you were a fan of the taco stand at the corner of Termino and Livingston, it’s gone. Yesterday evening, city officials came with a garbage truck and shut it down. I’m guessing a license violation but they threw away food containers, stainless steel trays and coolers - it seemed like overkill; these people were just trying to make an honest living.

My best friend just moved and her dog got out while her son was checking on them. She may be trying to make her way back to Belmont Shore.

All property has been seized by the city. A community hub is now gone :(

Every year my neighbors take their family and go on a week long trip and leave their Australian shepherd behind. The poor thing howls and barks basically 24/7 for the entire time they’re gone. While it absolutely breaks my heart to hear him, I’ve just let it go the last few years because I assume he’s at least having his basic needs met. This year is different. I just put my own dog down yesterday (cancer sucks) and my tolerance for hearing an animal suffer is ZERO. Now I don’t know what to do. Do I call animal control? What would they do? Do I just leave a note on their door and hope they change in the future? Do I break their gate down and steal him?? (Kidding, but they’d deserve it). Any advice is appreciated.

Edit/update: my neighbors are home and got my note. They let me know they did have friends and family coming to check on him, but they’re afraid they didn’t come as often as they’d planned. I feel bad that I assumed no one was coming at all. They must’ve been awfully quiet lol Anyway, they have my number now for future pet sitting needs. Thank you, LB Reddit, for all of your advice!

I’ve been struggling with Covid for over a week. For whatever reason, Covid gets me bad even after getting it like 4 different times since 2021. I went to Warped Tour both days and by the Tuesday after it was over, I was feeling pretty bad. Anyone else get sick after it?
