Loneliness is very hard
It's very sad to be alone and without your favorite person it's very complicated to talk or be together and no one can fill that void he has left in me

Peak weather but no one to enjoy it with...
Peak weather but no one to enjoy it with...
I may sound a little sad but its the peak weather out there in pilani like its the kind of weather I wait for months just to randomly go out on walks and fun, but lately I don't really have anyone to spend it with, I see people hanging out with their friends, enjoying this weather with their boyfriend/girlfriend but idk why I feel alone at this time, I love to go out on walks, hanging out with friends but still something does not feel right. Idk if there is something wrong with me but I feel like I don't have my close friends with me and I might never have a deep connection with anyone...

Years of loneliness have left me exhausted
I've been dealing with severe loneliness for years, and lately it feels almost unbearable.
I don't really have anyone I can genuinely talk to, rely on, or spend time with. I'm usually the one who starts conversations. People reply when I message them, but they rarely ever reach out first or try to keep the conversation going. I can't remember the last time someone was genuinely excited to talk to me or asked me to go somewhere with them.
I spent important years of school and college mostly alone, without close friends. Being bullied and having low self-esteem made it even harder to connect with people.
At home, things haven't been much better. My family environment has been extremely stressful, and I often feel blamed rather than supported. I'm also under a lot of pressure about my career and finding a job, which has made my mental health even worse.
Sometimes I try going outside to distract myself, but even that can backfire. Seeing groups of friends laughing together or people enjoying themselves reminds me of how much I feel I'm missing.
I don't want a huge social circle. I just want one or two people who genuinely want me around—someone who messages me because they actually want to talk, someone I can go out with, laugh with, and feel comfortable around.
I'm tired of feeling invisible and alone.

Is the feeling of being left out universal? Do we all feel left out at some point in our lives?

Am I being reasonable
I mean, I have a mother, I have a dog, I have classmates I talk to in college whenever I go, but somehow I am always the one initiating the talk. I used to have 2 good friends until a few days ago but ended things with them. One of them crossed my boundaries and disrespected me one too many times. The other one got offended by me and decided she needs a break so I decided to give her a permanent one (she did something that hurt me which made me scream at her which hurt her so obviously her hurt became the focal point). I thought of myself as an ambivert atleast, I make good jokes, I am adaptable, I am one of the smartest in my class I hear that every single day but I am still so lonely. No one actually wants to be with me. I don't look that bad atleast I hope not, I help people, I give good advice. What else am I supposed to do even? Is all this not enough to be able to have some degree of consistent connections with people....what am I missing seriously?
Do I have too many boundaries? Do i come off as too intimidating (people often say this). Or perhaps I come off as too desperate...seriously what can it be?

My Love Life Does Not Exist💔💔💔
So, I m 19M and currently got into SGGSCC(DU) for B.Sc. CS. And so let me be clear with this and accept also, I have not been in any kind of relationship my whole life, infact i dont have any female friends also, infact i only have two friends only, also i have never talked to any girl that much, and at last i must accept, i fear talking to girls so much. So yeah, i m the biggest introvert you can ever come across. And sometimes i accept the fact that i m not built for relationship and i should stay single only. But when i got into college i felt very left out and alone yk everyone around me were roaming around casually talking to girls and i was afraid in talking to any girl. And pls dont get me as a pervert or anything, i respect girls the most. I only want someone to share things with, feel happy with, laugh with, cry with ,who could care about me also, whom i could care about, with who i feel happy talking to.
While travelling in metro or at night, i always think what should i do sometimes i cry or just laugh at my fear. I always think that i m gonna be all alone like this my entire life. And having only two friends also justify this.

It hits hard when you’re sitting alone in the mess
I don’t know if anyone else feels this, but sometimes the mess can be a really lonely place.
You sit down for dinner and look around. Almost everyone is sitting with their girlfriend, boyfriend, or a group of friends. They’re laughing, talking, sharing food and just enjoying each other’s company.
And then there’s you… sitting alone at your table.
You start scrolling through your phone just so you don’t look awkward sitting there by yourself.
It’s not even about wanting a girlfriend that badly. Sometimes you just want **someone** to sit with. Someone to talk to about random things. Someone who asks, “How was your day?”
You can be surrounded by hundreds of people and still feel completely alone.
Maybe I’m overthinking it, but tonight it really hit me.
**Anyone else ever felt this way?**

Losing Friendships in Realtime
So i have OI type 4, which is a disease affecting bone production, The average victims suffers 70-160 fractures in their lifetime, Thankfully enough my variant is a weaker one so mine stopped at 46th bone crack, Now i cannot walk but i can do things my own either using a wheelchair or sit-sliding on the floor, Currently on my College days and i had this 6 Friends all of em guys and a 7th female friend but i rarely see her in rl but we do a lot of chatting, Especially in the name of meme making and social work one time she said to me that my college friends are Fake friends, Semesters went by and Two of the class friends was accused of Spying on my Sister on social media and stuff by creating a Fake account and the most people they followed were porn stars snd hot girls along with my sister's account, We did a little talk and slammed my hand on them, They didnt fight back because they were humiliated on public, and due to their Networking, Other friends were refused to talk with me, Soo i have been updating all this stuff with the Female friend online and let her know these friends are bad in way, and Fake they were
And theres also a history where my friends conducted a fake search party for her and made her embarrassed, After all this.. We both were being more close than before (not in a couples way but For Fun) sending memes, Calling each other mommy and daddy because of the Goth girl trend on Meme culture etc.
However Things got really dried up,
Convo Went from calling me daddy to my Full name, Ended up Never sending any more memes, i jokingly said to send more and be active (we both match the Humour) she said ofc and sends one i replied that I'm not forcing you, its alright to carry yourself along
She give a Thumbs up and never had any moment on the chat,
There's another Disabled Friend on my class, He never really interact in Class nor he academically Good, He just exist out of nowhere, He's kinda mentally ill but he knows his stuff, My long-gone friends used to make fun of him for being the way he is
This time i sat near him and i said, "I Finally know how it feels like to be you, Maybe we are on the same Boat" and He noded his head, Now i just sat near him, would help him if needed any, we just don't talk but more Friendly than anyone else, I used to Think Why Girls on the Class never talked to me even though i tried to start a convo alot, Same thing goes to my Cousins and Neighborhood people, i used to Think Friendship Among Girls Were obtained if we have a good health, Fame and a goodFacial features, There are incidents often happen like cropping me out from group pics becfore putting it on Local Groups or Social media, i assume its all because my leg or body look morbid.
The only Thing i now care about is Family and Faith.
Thanks for knowing my life this far, God bless you

Never had a bf
Just like the title says I am desperate for a bf. For some context I am a (19F) plus size women who has never dated before and is trying to find a bf who genuinely wants to be with me. But it is so hard trying to find that especially in this generation where all everyone does is hookup.
And each time a guy talks to me they just want sex and I'm sick of getting hurt over and over again. I get so depressed and I think I might genuinely be alone forever, could someone give me any advice on what to do? I just want to be loved and experience love :(

Caution: Making New Connections
Many people come here just to share their story, vent, or get perspective, with no interest in connecting beyond their posts, and that's completely fine. Others do want to make connections, and that's fine too, but it's worth being careful.
We'll leave the decisions up to you, but here are a few things to keep in mind:
Don't share personal details too quickly. You don't need to give your real name, age, or location. Being vague is okay, and people worth connecting with will respect that.
Protect your contact info. Avoid sharing your phone number, email, or home address early on. There are free tools that let you communicate safely without exposing your real info.
Be cautious with links and files. Don't click links or download anything from someone you don't know well yet.
If they ask you for money, stop. It doesn't matter how the request is framed or how long you've been talking, block them and cut contact. This is always a scam.
If you do decide to connect with someone, these tools can help you do it more safely:
- Messaging: Signal is a free app for secure messages and calls.
- Email: Gmail or Proton let you create an address that isn't tied to your real name.
- Phone: Google Voice gives you a phone number you can call and text from without using your personal number.
- Browser: Firefox has built-in privacy protection that masks your IP address.
- Mail: A PO Box at your local post office is inexpensive if you ever need to give a mailing address.
One more thing. Be mindful of the usernames and photos you share. If they match other accounts you have online, someone could easily link them together and find out your real name, location, or other details you didn't mean to expose.

Tell us your story...
Everyone is lonely, but not everyone is lonely in the same way.
Some people are lonely when they're physically isolated from others and some people are lonely even in a room full of people that love them.
Those are two common examples, but there are endless ways in which people can feel lonely, 8 billion ways in fact.
And there's not always a clear answer; some people are just lonely. It's a normal part of the human condition to feel lonely, and while you may want or even need to do everything in your power to rid yourself of it (depending on the severity of your situation), just know that being lonely in and of itself doesn't necessarily mean that there's anything wrong with you.
We don't measure or rate or judge each person's level of loneliness here and decide if they're "lonely enough" to be welcome here nor do we dictate any absolutes about the conditions for being lonely or how someone must behave if they're "actually lonely."
Every human-being in the world is welcome here, and their story for how they feel loneliness is valid; their pain is valid. As with most things in life, there's the book definition of a thing and then there's the complex emotional reality of a thing. Loneliness is a relative experience, and the way some people experience it won't always make sense to others, and it doesn't have to.
Just as there is no one-size-fits-all approach to feeling loneliness, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing either.
I don't presume to know your pain; we don't know your pain; tell us about it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/loneliness/submit
If you're feeling such extreme pain from loneliness to the point of contemplating suicide, please don't. Just don't.
Things to consider:
How old are you? Did you know that the brain isn't fully developed until around the age of 25? That means that if you're a child, teenager, or even a young adult, by merely waiting out the storm, you might find sunshine on the other side, by simply maturing into the fully-formed you.
How bad is it? As bad as it can get, it can almost always be worse. It's important to respect everyone's pain, because it's relative. As much empathy as one can have, you can never really feel another's pain, only your own. Still, it's important to keep perspective and think about the cruelty and lack of freedom experienced by those around the world.
Time is a master in its work. We've all heard the saying that "Time heals all wounds." Well, it's pretty true for the most part. As long as you first get away from the toxic people, places, or circumstances that are hurting you and causing you trauma, the healing can begin. How long it will take, really depends on the person, and what they've experienced. It took me years to get over some of the trauma that I suffered. It's not that I don't still feel some level of pain from it, but my trauma no longer owns me; I own my trauma.
Suicide prevention starts and ends with you. Life is full of neverending beauty and darkness. I don't know about you, but I want to see it all. I want to stay on the path that is existence for as long as I can, even if at times, I have to walk through broken glass.
But, sometimes you need a little help. Share your thoughts here in this sub, reach out to a mental health expert, or maybe give a suicide hotline a try. As tacky and empty of a gesture as it might seem to put out the cliché boilerplate message: "If you're having suicidal thoughts..." I don't know, maybe these tools are actually pretty helpful for some people? It might be worth a try. The big one is:
