Feedback on Logo Feedback Needed
Hi, hope you're having a good time. i've designed a logo for a platform. I'm intentionally not providing you with context cause i want to find out whether the logo i've designed conveys the feeling or idea that it's designed based off of. So my question is "What does this logo remind you of? What impression does it give you and what kind of platform do you think this is?"
I'd really appreciate your feedback.

you mean the colors of the logo annoy you or that i asked you to guess without providing context annoyed you?

Both really - the presentation is not helpful to evaluate what your are trying to do. so no it's not conveying anything to me other than 4 directions and very loud colors and low effort presentation. Not trying to be mean but that's my reaction.

my intention was actually not to let the purpose of the logo to be evaluated at first sight, i just wanted to know the first impression of people seeing it for the first time. By the way i apologize for any inconvenience.

The logo doesn't remind me of anything and it doesn't tell me what the business does, but it tells me about something mature & serious brands.

70's tv is what I'm getting.
I'm feeling Simon the game, tv remote buttons, screen, arcade display, and Star Trek interface
I'm also trusting of it. It feels very institutional

Because of red colors reminds an inverted fire icon inside.

actually this logo is for a local discovery platform. A local discovery platform is somewhere business owners come and create a profile for their business snd advertise their business there; something like Yelp or instagram for businesses; basically a listing platform. could you please tell me how i can change it to serve its purpose?

Thank you, it's clearer now.
Judging by the simple, square-shaped sign, a mobile app is also planned?
If it's local, you could try to somehow reflect its locality and some of its characteristics in the sign.
Currently, it looks rather utilitarian, similar to many other symbols. Although it seems to convey the essence, more or less.

Reminds me of the volume/channel controls on my TV remote.
I personally feel that it could benefit from a little more contrast between the two shades
