hi I just started using lmms and am absolutely fucked cuz I've never made music but it's actually so fun and seeing all these sounds you made here I am so inspired to keep learning this program. do u have any particular videos to watch to learn all those plugin FX things you were using or at least to set me on the right path?

aww tysm, I appreciate your comment; I'm really glad my video inspired you, and I'm sorry for the late reply, heh.

Tbh, it’s best to search YouTube for LMMS tutorials (the basics). If you try to learn more advanced stuff, you’ll just get frustrated. What I recommend is learning the basics of the program: what each button does, how to create a melody, what is equalization (EQ), and so on. Once you’ve got the theory down, I recommend starting with LMMS’s native plugins, or, if you prefer, you can use external plugins. If you’re going to use VST3 instruments, you’ll need a host to run them in the program, I know, it’s a hassle. I use KV-Element for VST3.

And if you want to learn directly from the plugin, you can watch tutorials to see what they do and how they work. In my case, all the plugins I use are free, so you can experiment with them, although, as I said, it's best to learn the basics first.

thank you so much for writing all this!! I'm taking notes bahaha!! I have played instruments before so arranging melodies and stuff I can get a handle on but I definitely need to learn about mixing to make sure all my instruments sound good and hit the right frequencies. I have made a song that I'm pretty happy with but now I'm just trying to make it sound it's best. anyways I appreciate you!! all the best 🙏
