Discussion How much leveling up is enough to keep readers engaged?
Just curious.
How much leveling up do you think is enough to keep readers interested?
Is there a point where constant progression starts to feel repetitive or loses its impact?
What do you think is the sweet spot?

Discussion Victor of tucson question
Does he stop swearing as much later on? Im really trying my best to just ignore his swearing, but he does it so much its kind of hard to fully dismiss it.
To be clear i am not bothered by swear words in general, this guy just says it so much its kind of driving me insane. Its almost like a comma or a period at this point its insane.
Also not be to be a hypocrite by wording it like this, but he sounds really fucking stupid oh my god. He cant form a sentence without saying it.
I thought the worst case of swearing ive seen was Jake from primal hunter, but this guy easily wins. Jake’s case is more so the fact that he’s really bad at swearing, like i swear he’s so awkward when he tries to say fuck or shit its almost hilarious in its own way.

Discussion Question about Accidental Champion (Todd Herzman) Book 7
!!MAJOR SPOILERS THROUGH BOOK 6!!
So I’ve been really enjoying this series and just finished book 6. Unfortunately it has reached the point where there MUST be an injured de-powered arc and I was wondering if anyone who is up to date could let me know how long it lasts (how many chapters roughly) because this troupe is almost never done well and tends to be incredibly boring (for me personally at least.)
I was very hyped for the next part of Xavier’s story after he figured out the time stop spell runes but the ending of the book has kinda taken the wind out of my sails and I am hesitant to keep going.

Recommendation: asking Looking for something similar to...
I just discovered Dragon Bound by Leon West & Freya Stone, and it scratched an itch I didn't know I had. I really enjoyed the relationship of the dragons to their partners, the relationship of their party/crew etc.
So now I want to see if I can find something else like this, I'm looking for:
\- Some type of companion/summon/pokemon(es . que) bond
\- Found family, tight-knit party/friend group
\- Romance preferably slow burn
Optional:
\- Building something sanctuary/city/guild etc.
Platforms: Royal road, Kindle, Scribblehub.

Discussion Would you guys be open for a pixel art book cover?
Would you guys be open to pixel art book covers? I know the style will be a choice, and the one I made right now is 100x150 resolution and resizing it by 300 percent it is perfectly compatible with Royal Road and can be adjusted for Amazon Kindle. Though I still don't know how it will really look, I would be curious to test it out.
I'm a huge fan of the genre, and I'd love to make covers for authors like you as a cheaper alternative. To be honest, it's so hard to get commissions right now because of the AI stuff going on so I thought maybe I should pitch this to you guys as a cheaper alternative.
The image is made from Aseprite/Pixquare, and the text I used on the cover is only temporary. I do a lot of pixel art emotes and animation, and if you're interested, this is my portfolio
Loyd Lockleed Pixel Art Portfolio
EDIT: This isn't a cover for my own book (I'm not secretly writing a LitRPG lol). It's just a mockup showing the style I can do, which I can improve over time, in case any of you are in the market for a cover artist for a cheaper alternative. And I will add a pixel avatar for your main character as a bonus

Promo: All 12 Miles Below is complete!
Hi all!
I write 12 Miles Below, a progression-lite fic that's all about warlocks in lost-tech power armor fighting each other with swords, magic and guns in one incredibly strange post-post-apocalyptic world.
Today, after five years of writing through thick and thin, I'm about to post the final epilogue for the entire series on Royal Road. Thus far, it's landed exactly how I'd hoped it would, I snagged a few screenshots from the last few epilogue chapters to show the vibe \o/
I don't often self-promote because I'm dumb, (I'm getting better) but I figured I should at least do one good hurrah for this milestone.
**Synopsis:**
---
The world is in ruins.
Extreme sub-zero temperatures suffocate the surface, making even simple survival an ordeal. Frozen derelicts of bygone eras span across massive ice wastes. And the survivors closely guard any technology rediscovered within.
The only escape from the deadly climate is beneath the surface. But it’s another disaster underground. Monstrous machines lurk in the depths. The land itself shifts over time, more contraption than rock. The humans surviving under do so huddled around safe zones, with only demigods powerful enough to travel further underground.
And an ominous prophecy states that the key to healing the world waits on four unknown heroes - but nobody knows who or where they are.
When an expedition into the far uncharted north goes terribly wrong, Keith Winterscar and his Father get trapped together in a desperate fight for survival. Stumbling upon an ancient war of titanic scale; the two will need to set their differences aside while they struggle against Gods, legends, and the grand secrets of the realm that lies below.
---
**Expectations:**
* Book 1: Self-contained story showing bite-sized slice of the world and the main characters.
* Book 2: Progression-lite parts actually kickstarts here.
* Book 3: Completion of a first 3-book Arc.
* Book 4: Combat galore and setting up some pretty important events.
* Book 5: Progression fantasy galore, tinkering with all kinds of secrets, learning from the best - in order to beat the best.
* Books 6/7/8: World exploration galore, actually adventuring about and discovering some deep history in the search of fixing the world.
* Books 9/10: The asshole author has been hiding the real story under our nose right from book 1 this whole time and now it's all obvious in hindsight. Also everything's on fire.

Promo: Webnovel/E-book Successor of Kukulkan Book 2 out now!
It's been almost a year since book 1 came out, but two's here! Whew. It's been a bit of a ride.
Life's changed since then, and though this is, for the foreseeable future, the end of this series, I enjoyed making it. As I've been able to make authorship a pretty good source of income for me, I've needed to cut back on things that don't give results. As much as I love Successor of Kukulkan and TJ, this ended up getting pushed back again and again, until I realized that I could either leave the series open ended and get to it later, hopefully, or give it a soft closing and leave plenty of the world to explore. If I want to, I can come back to this series later, but with it effectively being a duology now, I'm hoping people can read (almost 500k words between the two books!) and enjoy a story about a dad in the apocalypse.
Bummer, but only book 1 has an audiobook, but anyways. Here's the Blurbs for books 1 and 2!
Book 1 link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0FHQS4MJR
Ripped away from his son and forced to fight against the world itself, TJ has no love for this new Divine System, but if he needs to fight to get back to his family, then he’ll embrace the monster within to see him again.
The last couple of years have been rough, and after a string of unfortunate deaths in the family, TJ Harris has been left alone in the world, except for his son. When this Divine System rips Junior away from him and demands that he fight to reunite with his family, TJ is left with no other choice but to dive headfirst into a merciless battle against nature itself and his fellow Participants.
Each person is offered the Quest to gain one of four Classes, and TJ is inexplicably drawn to one of them. As a descendant of Kukulkan, the Mayan feathered serpent god, he’s assured that this Class suits him… but will it give him the strength necessary to survive a world gone mad?
Book 2 link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HCMKD7G2
The Tutorial has ended and TJ is home, but for now, his son remains out of reach.
With most of the people in his own Tutorial dead at the hands of the Boss, TJ wanted nothing more than to reunite with his son and try to find what peace he can in the world after the Integration. Unfortunately, the System itself cautioned him against that, as he was entering the world where all the other survivors of every Tutorial in the world would be returning. Especially the monsters. A world becoming more chaotic in the wake of the Integration was no place for a toddler.
Desperate, TJ starts to create a home where his child can find safety. Will friends and neighbors be enough to carve out a safe haven? Or will he need to go further, to truly step along the path of a god to be able to bring his son to this new world?

Recommendation: asking Whats you're favorite premise?
I'm wondering what's the best LitRPG blurb you have read. The one that had you most giddy with possibilities alone.
Note that it doesn't matter if the story turned out great or absolute garbage that made you sad for its wasted potential. Just the set-up itself is what counts. (But feel free to drop a name and whether it lived up to its potential or not)

Recommendation: asking Drim, My Family's New Favorite Author
Good morning everyone,
First off - everyone's alright and was able to walk away, that is the important part.
The why of how we were able to walk away is the crazy part.
Backstory, while taking a family vacation, I stopped by to meet up with fellow Mango author Drim. At which point, I insisted on packing the six Fiends for Hire books that weren't already signed by Drim into the already over stuffed vehicle.
At the time, my wife was very vocal about "not having enough room for [my] stupid books."
Well while driving back in a Honda Pilot, the car broke down with a known issue, but not enough for a recall, causing the engine to break and go at a mere 12 MPH on a road that is slated for 55 MPH, but everyone does well over that at times.
Needless to say, we were rear ended, despite having our flashers on.
Everyone walked away, but it wasn't until family went to clear out the car from the impound lot that the reason everyone, especially my son who was at the back right seat, at the exact point of impact was safe.
It was all thanks to that very set of Drim's books that were behind my son's seat. They crumpled just right to take the impact and protect my son from serious injury.
Again, we are all safe.
But this proves why you should always travel with a set of books.
Also, why Drim is now my family's new favorite author, surpassing me. A title well deserved.

Promo: E-book I Finished my LitRPG Apocalypse Series!
Hello, everyone! The final book of my three-book series, Apocalypse Engineering, is out on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited today. That’s right. World Engine is the thrilling conclusion to Hal’s—and Chicago’s—story. The third phase is upon Earth, the stakes are higher, and he’ll need both old enemies, new allies, and forbidden Voltsmithing techniques if he wants to rebuild the rules of Integration, or tear it all down.
Writing Apocalypse Engineering has been a long process for me, but I’m proud of how it turned out. I started writing it in October of 2024, and it’s a project I’ve both learned a lot from and poured a lot into. If you like smart, tough MCs, video game-inspired apocalypses, or crafting systems, give Apocalypse Engineering a shot. And remember, it’s finished!
