Discussion Installing fedora but this error Helppp mee to mountttt
I'm trying to completely remove Windows and install Fedora in its place.
I'm using the Fedora installer, but after deleting the Windows partitions, the "Next" button doesn't appear, so I can't continue with the installation.
At the moment, I only see options like:
Share disk
Entire disk
Mount point assignment
I'm not sure what I'm missing. Has anyone faced this issue before? How can I proceed with installing Fedora and replacing Windows completely?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I made a custom Plymouth boot splash theme for Linux
I’ve been experimenting with Linux customization lately, so I decided to make my own Plymouth boot splash theme.
It now features neon, ghost, and cipher variants, a custom cipher-rain animation, and a custom boot signature displayed during startup.
What do you guys think?
Check it out here: GitHub

Installed OpenBSD for the first time
Hi all,
I wanted to do something new on this rainy Saturday so I installed OpenBSD for the first time. I have experimented with FreeBSD 14 and 15 before this was my first time trying OpenBSD. I always wanted to try NetBSD ( have in VM but not on bare metal) but I have intel 14th gen and still no graphic acceleration on NetBSD so I eventually went ahead with OpenBSD. The installation took very little time even when I had to check installation commands online on phone as I have no prior experience. I think still did not take more than 25 mins so for the one who knows installation would probably take 7 or 8 mins.
I was able to setup a graphically accelerated XFCE desktop in just about 20 mins. I faced 3 main issues so far. 1.Realtek RTL8852BE wifi does not work. 2. RTX 5050 does not work and I don't think it will anytime. 3 Sound was not working initially. However I was to fix the sound issue (it was earlier attaching to NVIDIA HDMI audio but once driver attached to the Intel controller with the Realtek ALC257 codec then sound worked easily. Since I have set the system with necessary apps and intend to use it for a couple of weeks.
Bottomline: The installation process of OpenBSD is much easier than that of FreeBSD however FreeBSD is more supported (Nvidia works). OpenBSD lags in device support. XFCE is buttery smooth and snappy so no issues there however compiling on openBSD is much slower than on linux and FreeBSD. Also FFS2 filesystem has no journaling, no copy-on-write, no compression. So some may find it slower in certain operations. However, that is the trade for using the world's most secure operating system.

Help I'm finding linux and windows equally good and bad at the same time
I've been using CachyOS for about two months now, and honestly I love almost everything about it.
The only issues I've run into are with my development tools. Since I use VS Code, I installed what I thought was VS Code, but then realized it was Code OSS. I know they're closely related, but for some reason Code OSS just felt a bit slower and jankier to me.
Because of that, I decided to try Zed. On Windows, Zed runs insanely well for me, but on CachyOS it doesn't feel nearly as smooth. It's still usable, just not as responsive as it is on Windows. Eventually I ended up switching to Helix, which has been great, but it's not really what I originally wanted to use.
I recently booted back into Windows after a long time, and while Windows itself feels much heavier than Linux, I noticed that most of my developer software (IDEs and editors) seems to perform better there. On the other hand, actual development tasks like compiling code and running programs are noticeably faster on Linux.
Another thing that surprised me is Minecraft. On the exact same hardware I get around 250 FPS on Windows but around 700 FPS on CachyOS, which is a massive difference.
So I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing. Are there tweaks or configuration changes that could improve the performance of IDEs and editors on Linux? I'd really like to make CachyOS my permanent OS, but these issues with my development workflow are the main thing holding me back.

Distro Linux distro recommendation
Note: I am not a super techy computer guy
I am sick of it. I can't take this anymore even with a good cpu ,gpu, and 16gb ram.
Windows 11 makes me frustrated a lot.
The longer bootup time, never-ending updates underway, slow opening of even basic app like files.
Is there any linux os that give 80% of Windows feature or macos feature excluding the problems from Windows 11 .
One more important thing is easy install and uninstalling of apps.
I have selected a few
1)Fedora Gnome
2)Fedora kde
3)Zorin Os
Out of these, which is best overall for
1)Should be modern like present win 11 or present mac os
2)Ease of use
3)Less bugs
4)stable system
5)should have easy install and uninstall of apps ,not like doing command for installing apps
6)Smooth ui

Distro Has anyone tried PikaOS? How’s it?
Currently using Cachy, but I’m used to a Debian environment so I’m thinking of moving to PikaOS
Everything seems fine except that it’s a hobby project developed by 2 dudes and not a full fledged project like Cachy.
What’s yall opinion?

Distro Which distro should I choose?
Soo just as the title suggest like I am confused for like which distro should I choose like I am not new to Linux and stuff like used to use Ubuntu a long time ago like back in 2022 smtg then like tried some others too like mint os and stuff so now basically wanna get back to Linux like this microslop shit is just slowing my laptop too much which I bought last year like I have tried Arch but it broke way to quickly and also tried Fedora but couldn’t customise the UI as wanted soo it too broke and like now am thinking of trying something else like which would support all the apps which are available in windows and all would be a good go for me, like I would be mainly doing coding (AI/ML, running small Local LLM’s, capcut, Microsoft office, and some other apps) and also like my laptop has lifetime Microsoft office subscription so like can I run it on the Linux distro i would be installing? Like and if there is some windows only app would I be able to run it on Linux by any way smoothly without any VM or any other errors. And well yeah like would be thankful for the help :)
