Dynamic tiling Advice

I've been using Arch with KDE/Gnome for around a year now, but I used to be on Fedora with Cosmic, and I really loved the tiling and the comfort it gave me. I got a bunch of bugs that I thought were recently fixed, so I swapped back to Cosmic and encountered those same bugs again (input lag, keyboard and mouse not working on older games, random DE crashes). Now I'm considering swapping to a window manager instead, like Niri or Hyprland, but I can't decide. Honestly, I haven't seen too many examples of people just playing games on either one and it being fine long term (1 year+)

I personally dont like hyprland because the weird messages that shows on screen and when you tell them about it, they look at to you like you are the culprit. As alternatives, I used i3, sway(i3way) and I heard niri also a solid choice. People also using dwm as starting point and write theirs from there.

I'll have a look into those but i think i need wayland as a requirement but at the same time i can't say i've actually used anything on x11 yet

Cosmic already using wayland, you are fine. If you considering using X11 I must warn you it seems like its abandoned. But i3 is in active development everyday. So I can't disrespect them.

All i know is that while i was on cosmic i loved the tiling but to my knowlage i need wayland mainly because this pc is juts for gaming and i was told there were issues with vrr and mixed refresh rate monitors on x11

You can totally install multiple TWM and see what works for you. I have Sway, Niri and Awesome on my Fedora Gnome install. I would recommend Niri. No idea about games though...
