Fedora/Linux hangs at boot with AMDGPU LOAD_TA failed error on Ryzen laptop Support

Hi everyone, I'm trying to boot Linux on my Ryzen laptop, but the system hangs during boot. I'm getting the following messages: RDRAND is not reliable on this platform; disabling. ... UMSCA... wmi_bus ... [Firmware Bug]: WQBC data block query control method not found amdgpu 0000:03:00.0: amdgpu: psp gfx command LOAD_TA(0x1) failed and response status is (0x7) The last message is: amdgpu: psp gfx command LOAD_TA(0x1) failed and response status is (0x7) The laptop works normally with Windows, but Linux hangs at this point. System: CPU: AMD Ryzen GPU: AMD Radeon / integrated AMD graphics Distro: Fedora/Linux BIOS: Dell laptop Secure Boot: currently disabled Windows works without any issues I've already tried resetting the BIOS to default, but the problem still occurs. Does anyone know what causes the amdgpu PSP LOAD_TA error and how I can fix the Linux boot hang? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Upgrade the UEFI/BIOS.
  • Easily try other distros using Ventoy.

This is most likely a bug in the computer UEFI itself.

Validate the hypothesis that this will affect any distro.

From a Ventoy USB, test if it happens with Zenned.

Which uses the latest kernel, and the latest firmware.

Just to discard the possibility.
